NELSON:

NELSON, Charles born in the County of SmŒland, Sweden (year and name of village unknown; year and name of port he immigrated from in Sweden and to in the United States is also unknown). We do know that he settled in Cosmospolis, Grays' Harbor County, Washington. His wife's given name may have been 'Erna' - surname unknown. Dates and place of birth unknown. We do not know if Charles NELSON had children, or if so, how many.

His brother Andrew NELSON was also born in the County of SmŒland in Sweden in the year 1870. (Again, the name of the village of birth is unknown). Andrew NELSON immigrated from Sweden to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1889. (the name of the the port he immigrated from in Sweden, and the name of the port he immigrated to in the United States is unknown). (We're still trying to confirm the year he immigrated to St. Paul, Minnesota). He married Bertha E. F. LEXOW (maiden name unknown); she was either divorced or widowed with two sons: Frederick LEXOW and Edward LEXOW at the time of the marriage (date and place unknown). Andrew and Bertha NELSON had three children together: Sherman A. NELSON, Lucille NELSON and Helmer NELSON. (All have passed away). It is our understanding that Sherman A. (Andrew) NELSON visited his Uncle Charles NELSON ca. 1923 - 1925. (Sherman A. NELSON is the father of my husband, Sherman E. NELSON).

We also understand that there may have been a third brother that immigrated to the United States, but can find no evidence that the first two brothers had contact with the third brother. We do not know his given name; only that he settled somewhere in Southeastern Minnesota. Not much to go on.

If any of Charles NELSON's descendants see this query, or if anyone has information to help solve this mystery, please contact me

NELSON:

Fred L. NELSON married Alice B. COOK, they were still residents of Montesano, Grays Harbor Co. WA. in 1953. Alice was the daughter of Cora B. MOORE and William Shannon COOK who were married in Montesano, WA. 01 Sept. 1893. Alice COOK-NELSON was probably born before 1900. She was my grandfathers Niece. Seeking any information on this family.

NUTTER:

I am searching for any information regarding my grandfather Charles Otto Nutter who died in Aberdeen,Wa in 1931. He was from Missouri and his parents were Matthew Nutter and Mary Isaac Nutter last known in Coffee, Missoure. Charles and my grandmother were married in 1900 in Missouri and divorced in 1914. Is there a census for the year 1930 in GraysHarbor or the state of Washington? I appreciate any help you may be able to offer me. Is there a rootsweb site for the state of Washington? Thanks again - Janet Anderson

NYKVIST:

This is a query from Finland. Two brothers of my grandmother lived and died in Aberdeen, WA. Their names in the homecountry were Karl Albert Nykvist (b. 13 May 1888, d. 17 Dec 1951 in Aberden) and Matts Lennart Nykvist (b. 7 Feb 1890 d. 10 Jan 1948 Aberdeen). They were immigrants in y 1910. Probably they changed their names to a more American spelling. There was even a third brother Erik Alfred Nykvist who could have been in Aberdeen at the same time.
