Military discharge papers can be recorded free of charge. Certified copies can be obtained at no fee for military purposes.

Vital records may be available from the County Auditor, or from the State Office of Vital Records, depending on the type of record and the date of the event.

Marriage Records:
County: 1872 to Present
State: 1968 to Present
Death Records:
County: August 7, 1891 to March 7, 1906
State: July 1, 1907 to Present


Indexes are kept by type of document and are found in books in the vault.
All documents are general records and are found in books in the vault.
Indexes are on the computer.

When searching for instruments recorded prior to 1985, it is advisable to have the approximate recording date.

All marriage and survey records are indexed on the computer regardless of the date filed.
