Masonic Rite Tuesday For Dr. Bronson

Masonic funeral services for Dr. Adolph Bronson, 61 years old, pioneer physician and surgeon and builder of the Renton Hospital, will be held at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday at Stokes Mortuary in Renton.

Dr. Bronson died Thursday of a heart attack in the Virginia Mason Hospital. He had been ill a month. Dr. Bronson was born in Algona, Iowa, January 28, 1877 and came to Seattle in 1889. He entered the old Central School and was a member of the First Seattle High School cadets.

Practice Begun in 1905

Dr. Bronson was graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in San Francisco in 1904. After working nearly a year as an intern in hospitals there, he opened an office in Renton in 1905. He built the Renton Hospital in 1911.

Dr. Bronson was a member of the American Medical Society, the Washington State Medical Society, the King County Medical Society, the East Side Medical Society, the Seattle Surgical Scotia, the American Hospital Association, the Western Washington Hospital Association and for several years served on the Board of Trustees at Harborview Hospital.

Besides his medical affiliations, Dr. Bronson was a member of the Washington Consistory, Scottish Rite Masons; the Nile Temple of the Shrine, the Royal Arch Masons and St. Andrew’s Lodge No. 35, Free and Accepted Masons. St. Andrew’s Lodge will conduct the services Tuesday.

Member of Pioneer Group

Dr. Bronson was also a member of the Nesika Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Eagles, the Knights of Pythias, the Renton Commercial Club and the Kiwanis Club. By virtue of his early residence in Seattle he was a member of the Pioneer Association.

Surviving are the widow, Fern, at the family home in Renton; a son, Carl Bronson, Renton; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth B. Rideout, Yakima and a brother, Seg Bronson, Bellevue.
