Charles A. Butterfield

Funeral services for Charles A. Butterfield, 67, a retired Western Union telegrapher, will be held at 11 o’clock tomorrow in the Mittelstadt Ballard Chapel. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Butterfield died in a hospital Tuesday after three weeks’ illness. Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, he had lived in Seattle since infancy.

Mr. Butterfield began with Western Union as a messenger boy of 15. He retired in 1951. His wife, Lois, died in the 1930’s.

Survivors are a son, Roy A. Butterfield, Seattle; three daughters, Mrs. Leslie J. Hawkins, Seattle; Mrs. Lawrence Hanson, Walla Walla and Mrs. Duane Marvin, Liberia; two brothers, Glen R. and Dean O. Butterfield, both of Seattle; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Butterfield, Seattle. Brother of Glen R. and Dean O. Butterfield, both Seattle. Also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services Friday, 11AM, Mittelstadt Ballard Chapel. Cremation.
