E.M. Wilson, Head of Seattle Steel Firm, Dies at 82

San Francisco, Tuesday, November 22. Judge Elliot M. Wilson, 82 years old, President of the Pacific Coast Steel Company, died here today after a long illness. He leaves a sister, two nieces and other relatives in Youngstown, Ohio, where he formerly lived.

Judge Wilson was born near Shalersville, Ohio in 1845 and practiced laws in that state. He was a pioneer steel man on the Pacific Coast. He first became identified with the industry in Tacoma in 1893, later operating the Seattle Steel Company in Seattle. In a merger in 1911 the Pacific Coast Steel Company was formed. This company operated plants in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle.
