Ralph Young, Ex-Seattleite, Dies in Denver

Ralph A. Young, 56 years old, a native of Seattle and widely known here, died this morning in Denver.

Mr. Young was born here in 1883, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Angus W. Young, pioneer settlers. Mr. Young’s birthplace was a residence in Pike Street near Fourth Avenue.

After attending Queen Anne and Mercer grade schools, he was graduated from Central High School in 1901. He was active in sports in his youth, particularly baseball and played for semi-pro teams in Seattle and the Northwest.

Mr. Young went into the employ of R.G. Dun & Co. after leaving school, where he continued until illness forced him to leave Seattle in 1913. He has been living in New Mexico and Colorado since 1913.

Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Maude Young Brown of Anaheim, California and a brother, Fred A. Young, Seattle.

Cremation will be held at Denver and the ashes sent to Seattle for interment in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Services here will be private.
