Rites Set For Mrs. Fred W. Newell

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Mae Newell, 89, of 1529 17th Avenue, will be at 1 o’clock tomorrow morning in Butterworth’s Family Mortuary, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Mrs. Newell, the daughter of a pioneer Seattle family, died Sunday in a nursing home. Her father’s home was on the site now occupied by the King County Airport.

She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church, Seattle Lodge No. 92, Ladies of Elks and of the Daughters of Pioneers. She was past Matron of Iona Chapter No. 114, O.E.S. She was the widow of Fred Newell.

Surviving are two sons, George C. and Fred W. Newell; a sister, Mrs. Elvira Roberts, all of Seattle; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Livingston, Oakland, California; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
