Berg, Minerva 12-21-1846 05-17-1930 Klickitat Pioneer Passes (Research & Link by Jeffrey Elmer)   Minerva [Silcox] Berg wa born on December 21, 1846 to Delva [Souther] and Andrew Silox. She married Thomas McGrath in Missouri. The Berg family settled in Klickitat County in the Camas Prairie in 1882. They had seven children. Thomas passed away in 1893. Minerva married once again in 1895. Her husband's name was August Berg. He died in 1904. Minerva passed away May 17, 1930 in Washougal, Clark, WA.
Castle, Garver Ora 08-10-1884 12-06-1964 Garver Castle Funeral Friday (col 4)   Ora Garver Castle (or more commonly seen) "Garver O. Castle" was born in Floyd County, Virginia on August 10, 1884. When he was ten years of age, the Castle family settled in Glenwood. He married Annie Shannahan on December 9, 1927 in Vancouver, Clark County, WA. Their children included John and Elizabeth. Garver passed away at home near Lyle on December 6, 1964

Chapman, Guy Carlton 03-30-1871 08-22-1938 Guy Chapman, and old pioneer of the West (link provided by Jeffrey Elmer)   Guy Chapman was a former resident of Klickitat County. He was the son of Lucinda [Till] and Noah Chapman. He married to Malita (Molita) Poehlman ((Pochlemann?) on February 9, 1903 in Glenwood. According to WA Death Records, Guy passed away on August 22, 1938 in Seattle, WA. He is buried in Lot 30 Block 2. (A great saga by Guy's brother Cody (Courtland W. Chapman) is available online)
Coolidge, Frank Orlando 10-29-1871 09-01-1928 Glenwood: The funeral of Frank Coolidge (column 5)   Parents: Mattie [Twitty] and James Martin Coolidge. Spouse: Margaret. Frank was killed when his car went off a grade near White Salmon.
Dixon, Doyle W. 02-08-1911 11-06-1976 Obituary   Doyle W. Dixon was born in Picabo, Blaine County, Idaho on February 8, 1911. His parents were Millie Alice [Iden] and Alvin Dixon. He served in the US Army during WWII from September 10, 1942 to December 6, 1945. Doyle settled in Glenwood in 1951. Doyle passed away on November 6, 1976 at home in Glenwood.

Henningsen, Hans 12-08-1857 10-11-1938 Services Held for Hans Henninsen (link by Jeffrey Elmer)   Hans Henningsen was born in Germany on December 8, 1857 to Mr. and Mrs. Detlef Henningsen. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 14, and settled in Glenwood in 1877. On July 8, 1884, Hans married Catharina Tams. The Henningsen family evenually settled in Seaside, Oregon, where Hans died on October 30, 1938
[Researcher Note: Although the Seaside Signal cited the 10th of October as the date of death, the Oregon Death Index cites the 30th. The newspaper publishing date was November 3, 1938, which would have been more consistent with the 30th. And, finally, the 11th was a Tuesday, while the 30th was a Sunday. The newspaper stated he died on a Sunday evening.]

Ladiges, Gertrude 06-24-1883 01-26-1938 Glenwood Mourns Death (column 5)   Gertrude Fettneir was born in Germany and emigrated to the United States. She was married on December 27, 1907 to Henry Ladiges in Wasco County, Oregon. She died in Portland on a visit with her daughters.

Markgraf, Peter Henry 09-24-1923 08-17-1938 Glenwood Mourns (link provided by Jeffrey Elmer)   Peter Henry Markgraf was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Markgraf. He died at the age of 14 in the Hood River Hospital. Peter is buried in Lot 15 Block 4.

The McGrath's made their home in Glenwood where they farmed and raised cattle. Andrew passed away on October 2, 1960 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Vancouver, WA.

Lyle. She married Andrew McGrath on June 1, 1916. Hallie passed away on December 27, 1948 in Glenwood, Klickitat, WA.

Unfortunately, Mr. Zuelhoef's first name is not mentioned in the obituary.]
