Frances Leona Conlee

Frances Leona (Anderson) Conlee peacefully passed away on Feb. 15, 2011 in Vancouver. She was born Mar. 25, 1922 to Helen and Peter Anderson on a farm northwest of Centerville. She attended school in Centerville, graduating from high school in 1940.

Frances married Charles “Chuck” Conlee on May 20, 1944 in Bremerton, WA. She lived with Lillie Conlee (her husband’s mother) in Goldendale, WA while Chuck was in the Navy.

After he was discharged from the Navy, they went to Ellensburg so Chuck could attend college. After he completed his degree in education they moved to Vancouver.

She and Chuck loved boating and fishing and spent the summers on their boat. They made several trips to the San Juan Islands. Later, after the children were grown, they spent the summers in Warrenton, Ore., and fished in the ocean.

Frances is survived by her loving husband off 66 years; their three children, Dianne (Danny) Johnson, Curt (Sue) Conlee, and Roxanne Rollins; and three grandchildren, Josh Conlee and Nick and Jared Rollins. Her mother, father, brother “Pete” and son-in-law, Rick Rollins preceded her in death.

“You were a wonderful Wife, Mother, and Grandmother and we will always miss you but truly believe that ‘In the Sweet By and By, we shall meet on that beautiful shore!’

The family would like to express a special thank you to Patti Gray and staff at Angelbrook Senior Living for their tender care during her brief stay. Frances Leona Conlee has requested that there be no service. Her ashes will be in the family plot at the Mt. View Cemetery in Goldendale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of their choice.
