He was a stage coach driver in the local area for many years. Arthur passed away on April 9, 1925 at home in Roosevelt at the age of 64. He is buried in Plot: Block Section 71, Lot 1. The Hyatt's moved to Goldendale in 1898, where he served as Treasurer for multiple terms. They had three children together. Their son Leonard died in Seaview at age 9. Their son Millard died of pneumonia at 9 months. Their daughter, Hazel Hyatt (married name: Mahoney) accompanied them on their camping trip to San Francisco. George and Mattied relocated to Pendleton, Oregon in 1926. Mattie died in 1945. George married a second time to the widowed Bethene Echo Swaggart Akers in 1948. George passed away November 20, 1958. His widow Bethene died in 1979 in Portland, Oregon.
