He was known to family and friends as "Dude" Nelson.   Oscar was married on January 9, 1899 to Wilma Elizabeth Teague in The Dalles, Oregon. (Wilma and Oscar's only son Clare died in infancy.)   After Wilma's death, Oscar was married again to Evelyn Crowe on October 10, 1921.   He was an esteemed local newspaperman, and amongst other endeavours, was the publisher of The Independent (newspaper) in Goldendale. Later in life, Oscar was involved in the real estate business.   Oscar passed away on August 31, 1925 at home in Goldendale.

Gravestone   Biography   Obit Link   Joseph Nesbitt was born on October 10, 1842 in Stark County, Ohio to Catherine [Baer] and Peter Nesbitt. He was married in 1868 to Miss Eliza Clarkson who passed away in 1875. Soon after, Joseph came to Klickitat County with his 3 year old daughter Ada Catherine. He married a second time on April 11, 1876 to Elizabeth Miller and had five more children; (of which one son died in infancy). Joseph was in the flour-milling business and built a major trade with China. He was a political leader in Klickitat County, and served as a state legislator for two years, as well as serving as mayor and city councilman. Joseph died on December 11, 1903.
