Klickitat Pioneer,
Passes At Camas

"James A. Burgen, 76, died at his home in Camas Tuesday evening. One of Klickitat county's real pioneers, Mr. Burgen was born near Maryhill in 1866. He was the son of Thomas and Susan Burgen, early day Klickitat county settlers.

Mr. Burgen lived in Klickitat county until about 16 years ago when he moved to camas. For many years his home was at Maryhill. He also lived for a time at Chamberlin Flat.

Funeral services will be held in Camas Friday and graveside services will be held at the Goldendale I.O.O.F. cemetery Friday afternoon.

Survivors include the widow, Effie, of Camas; one daughter, Mrs. Porter Lainhart, of Portland; three sons, Stanley, of Camas; Harlan, of Richland, Wash., and Harold, of Metaline Falls, Wash."
