Last Rites For C.D. Hatfield Held Wednesday

"Carroll D. Hatfield, 82, year-old farmer of the Blockhouse community, died at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Yakima Monday morning. Funeral services for Mr. Hatfield were held Wednesday afternoon from the Phillips chapel in Goldendale.

Mr. Hatfield was overcome with the heat early last week while working at his ranch eight miles west of Goldendale. He received treatment in Goldendale and was taken to Yakima Saturday.

He had resided in Klickitat county for the past 38 years. Mr. Hatfield was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 1, 1859 and came to Klickitat county from Missouri. Since coming to this county he has resided continuously on his ranch near Blockhouse.

Survivors include the widow, Allie; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Horner, of Goldendale; Mrs. Eva Summers, of Arlington, Wash., and Annette Hatfield, of Wapato; two sons, Walter Hatfield, of Portland and John Hatfield, of Goldendale; nine grandchildren. Four sisters also survive in Pennsylvania and New York.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday with the Rev. P Glenn Garner, Baptist pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Spring Creek cemetery."
