Herman W. Wohl

"Herman W. Wohl, 89, died July 21, 2007, at a care center in The Dalles, where he had resided for the past few months.

Herman was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Venturia, N.D., to Frederick and Martha Wohl, the third of nine children.

The family later moved to South Dakota where Herman resided until moving to Goldendale, to live with his sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Irvin Hunter in about 1973.

He lived in Goldendale until health care needs required him to move to The Dalles in January of 2007.

Herman attended church with Freda and Irvin and indicated his desire to be a part of the worldwide fellowship of New Testament Christians in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest Wohl; three sisters, Ester Wohl, Martha Wohl, and Alyce Scherer.

Survivors include one brother, Raymond Wohl of Granite Falls; three sisters, Freda Hunter of The Dalles, Ida Charbanneau of Casper Wyoming, and Helen Klatt of Everett; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service and burial will be held Friday, July 27, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Spring Creek Cemetery west of Goldendale in the Hunter family plot. Ministers will be Jean Larson and Jane Buell.

There will be opportunity for viewing on Friday morning until noon at the Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel (formerly Erdman Funeral Home) at 300 West Broadway in Goldendale."
