Location: NW ¼ NW ¼ of Sec 18 Twp 21 R 33; one mile W of Odessa & one mile S.

Mary Zicha, a widow, deeded the 2.43 acres for a Catholic Cemetery to the Catholic Bishop of Spokane, a corporation, filed on Apr 7, 1917 in Deeds: Book 59 page 479.

The consideration was $1. Subsequent deeds for the surrounding property specifically exclude the full 2.43 acres of cemetery land from the transactions.

Over two acres have been deeded to us free of charge by Mrs. J. Zicha. Mrs. J. Zicha wishes to be buried near her husband. Hers should be a place of honor. Mr. F. R. Kucera is the custodian. The following persons own family lots. The lots are 30 X 15 or thereabout:

(As the land deed was dated in 1916, this may well be the earliest record of the church pertaining to the use and ownership of the cemetery; previously, it was legally the private property of Mrs. Zicha.)
