Reardan Cemetery is located at the Southeast edge of Reardan in the NW1/4 of SE1/4 of Sec. 15 Twp 25N Range 39EWM. Also known as the Reardan IOOF Cemetery, it was dedicated in September of 1894. In the 1911 Atlas it is on page 121 and the 1960 Atlas it is listed on page 69. I grew up in Reardan & my dad had the cemetery records. I have added names, obits, and other information of the people buried there. I included all the burials, and then included the obits that I have. There are 3 burials which were not in the cemetery records (Byrd, Dittmar, and Brandenberg) but according to death records, etc, they are buried at the Reardan Cemetery. All 3 died before the big Reardan fire, so I was thinking maybe some of the cemetery records were lost in the fire.

Saying on back of Dorothy & Lamont's stone:
"When the wide field calls
Follow the wheat into the lamp's breath
There drips an autumn's water
Kiss of the beginning on an infant lip
Anguish is hushed, drawn painless
into the middle tree
a stem of silence
Sprung naked from the white womb
Staunch the tree stands before the far sky
Rush of a higher pith
It comes to deny itself
And sounds the canvas the tomb
Fly to the acre the Earth, wakener
Fly until the lamp's last blue
Folds into itself
And is lost in you
-Lisa"

James C. Driscoll. Last of a Great Quartette. With the death Monday evening of James C. Driscoll passed the last of a great quartette of public spirited, open-minded, progressive empire builders-Messrs Driscoll, Moriarty, Raymer and Wickham-four men largely responsible for that place in the sun which has been the lot of this community since their coming some three decades ago. Upright in his dealings with his fellow man, a sachem in the councils of the democratic party, always with his shoulder to the wheel of progress, and never stinting in the use of his own time and funds to further what he believed to be the best interests of the community, he will live long in the hearts and memories of those who knew and worked with him. His will be a place hard to fill, if indeed it ever is filled, and with his passing Reardan loses one of its finest citizens. [Reardan Gazette]
J.C. Driscoll Over The Great Divide. Died Monday Evening Following Short Illness-Loss Keenly Felt By The Whole Community. James C. Driscoll, pioneer merchant of Reardan for thirty-one years, passed through the western gates Monday evening after an illness of but a few days. Mr. Driscoll was born in Whitneys Point, New York State, in May 1867 and there grew to manhood. When but twenty-one years of age he felt the westward urge and came to the Pacific Northwest where for a number of years he followed his profession as a civil engineer. He surveyed for the Great Northern Railway in the Yakima valley and was one of the engineers to lay out the present Big Bend branch of that railroad, then known as the Central Washington railway. He also surveyed for the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey and was well acquainted with most sections of the Northwest. He was also instrumental in the laying out of the road running from Reardan to the Indian reservation and serving the Cedar Canyon mining country. He came to Reardan in 1899 where for a short time he was a partner in the firm of Driscoll and Steele, general merchants, later buying out Mr. Steele and continuing the business under his own name. Mr. Driscoll took a great interest in the affairs of the Spokane Indians on the neighboring reservation and was looked upon by them as a friend and one upon whom they could count when in need. When the town of Reardan was incorporated Mr. Driscoll became one of the first councilmen and was subsequently mayor for several terms. At the time of his death he was a director of the Reardan National Bank, which position he had held for a number of years. He was universally respected throughout the community and a man always in the fore-front of civic affairs. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Berrigan Driscoll, and three daughters: Miss May Driscoll of New York City, Mrs. Alton G. Nordale of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Miss Agnes Driscoll, a teacher in the Priest River schools. The funeral will be held from the Catholic Mission here Saturday at 10:00 o'clock with Reverend Father Condon officiating. Interment will be beside the grave of a daughter who died in childhood, in the Reardan Cemetery. [Reardan Gazette: 3-20-1930]
Mr. and Mrs. Alton G. Nordale arrived Tuesday evening from Seattle, where they were enroute to their home in Fairbanks, Alaska, to attend the funeral of her father, James C. Driscoll. Driscoll, has been postponed until 10:00 o'clock Saturday in order that she may be present. [Reardan Gazette: 3-20-1930]

Frazer, Marian:  1896

"Mrs Marian Frazer, wife of Mr Edward Frazer of this town, died with consumption at her home last Friday evening. Mrs Frazer was a devoted wife and loving mother to her three bright and promising little ones over whom she exerted an unusual control. They loved her and appreciated her gentle, womanly influence as did all who knew her well, and she is called from them at a time when they most need her care and teaching. Mrs Frazer had been ill for about six months, and for several weeks haws been a great sufferer and the ‘rest that comes to the people of God’ found her prepared to enter trustingly ‘neath the shadow of His wing. She was thirty-six years of age, and her former home was in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she became the wife of Mr Frazer eight years ago. Her sister Miss Jennie McCracken arrived in time to be present and aid in comforting Mrs ‘Frazer during the last days of her illness. The funeral services were conducted by Rev Mr Spaulding of Spokane, at the Reardan Baptist church. Mrs Frazer was loved and respected member of Mrs Spaulding’s church and several of its members were among the many friends present at the lat sad rites on Sunday afternoon, when with the beautiful followers she so loved scattered over her she was laid to rest in the Reardan Cemetery.” LCT: 5-01-1896)
