Belle Center Cemetery Location: Belle Center Road, approximately 2 miles from junction with State Route 14, and 24 miles west of Stevenson, Washington near the Clark/Skamania County line. Legal description: Township 1 North, Range 6 East, W.M., Section 8 (NE 1/4 of NW 1/4). The following information was compiled by Daphne Ramsey in 1976, and is from the records of the Skamania County Historical Society, Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center, Stevenson, Washington. Ramsey noted that "A fire has gone through this cemetery and the wooden markers are burned so badly that most of them are not legible." Belle Center Cemetery was officially established by members of the Belle Center Congregational Church on March 16, 1905. The cemetery property was purchased from Charles Peterson and the price of individual 10 ft. by 16 ft. lots was placed at $5.00 each.
