Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-December 1995 PARKER, Mary Helen Age 83, of Cathlamet, died in a Longview hospital. She was born in Renton, to Fletcher and Clara E. (Edmonds) Powers. She and Sid Parker were married Nov. 24, 1930, in Yuma, Az. and celebrated their 65 years of marriage this year. The Parkers were dairy farmers, now retired. She was very supportive of her family and of her husband's active membership in the Lions club. Her memberships included the Skamokawa Grange, of which she was past master and chaplain; the Skamokawa Mentor club; the G. T. club; and the Skamokawa Methodist church. She was also active with the Wahkiakum County Fair. Survivors include her husband, Sidney, at home; two daughters, Beverly Moonen of Skamokawa and Anita Curtis of Salem; three sons, Charles D. of Skamokawa, Michael of Cathlamet and Richard of Renton; a sister, Elizabeth Ellingsworth of Bay City, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers; John Powers in 1995, and Ted, Paul and Frank Powers. Funeral services were Saturday at the United Methodist church with Pastor Bob Corlett officiating.
