Pete and Margaret Ganguet , of Route 1, Waitsburg, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently at a dinner party at the Walla Walla Country Club. Native Washingtonians they were married May 20, 1941 at St. Patrick Catholic church.  Since marriage they raised wheat and peas on a farm on the Coppei River. (WWUB clipping, no date, 1991)

Dr. and Mrs. Chester C. Maxey observed their 55th wedding anniversary with an evening at home with a few of their friends. Not able to be there were their daughters Aurel Kelly ( Mrs. Thomas F.) and Marilyn Alexander (Mrs. Rod) nor their four grandaughters. ( WWUB Excerpt, Sun, June 21, 1970)

Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Morris are bidding friends to share a 50th wedding anniversary reception. Residents since 1931, the couple are expecting three of their four children and five of their 17 grandchildren. Daughter, Mrs. R. P. ( Carol) Reardon will drive from Webster, Mass. with their four children; Mr. and Mrs. W. R. (Marge) Ickes from Amherst, Ohio; third daughter Mrs. K. R. (Jean) Laws and son from Renton. Not able is son Robert Morris, Huntsville, Alabama. A World War I veteran, Mr. Morris worked in the College Place post office in the 40s retiring after 20 years. ( WWUB Excerpt, Sun, June 21, 1970)

Honored at a 50th wedding anniversary reception Nov 17th, 1963 were  Mr. and Mrs. John Schindler, Milton-Freewater. The couple were married Nov 17, 1913 in McCluckey, N. D.  The couples five children who attended the reception are Mrs. Eugene Zacharias, Mrs. Glenn Stephens, Mrs. Al McLane, Mrs. Howard Hutchinson and Albert Schindler including 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Miss Lucy Murrel Moss and Charles M. Wilson were married June 30, 1920 at Yakima. Both natives of Juliaetta Idaho. They will be honoroed at the Walla Walla Seventh Day Adventist church fellowship room. Hosts for the occasion are their son Joseph C. Wilson, Seattle; and daughters, Mrs. Keith (Helen) Merklin, Mrs. Donald ( Betty) Plaquet, Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Fernandes of Walla Walla and Mrs. Joe (Mary) Skinner of Kent. They have lived in Walla Walla since 1925. Wilson was employed by local creameries for 35 years. They have 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. ( WWUB Excerpt, Sun, June 21, 1970)

Bob and Barbara Danforth celebrated their 60th  wedding anniversary July 6 by attending their grandson's graduation from U. S. Marine Corps Officers Candidate School boot camp in Quantico, Va. They were wed July 6, 1952 at First Presbyterian Church in Walla Walla. After farming north of Waitsburg for more than 50 years, they moved to Walla Walla in 2006. They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Leslie Danforth of Issaquah, Wash, and David and Nancy Danforth of Redmond, Wash., a daughter and son-in-law Susan and Mitchell Payne of Dayton, and eight grandchildren.  (Excerpt July 8, 2012, WWUB)
