COOK, Alta May - Graveside services for Alta May, age 84 of 1207 18th St. will be Monday June 1, 11 a.m. at Bay View Cemetery with Rev. Edgar L. Starr officiating. Mrs. Cook died Thurs. May 28, 1981. She is survived by 1 son Bruce Cook of City; 2 brothers, Ernest Eaton of Mt. Vernon, Victor Craft of Seattle; numerous nieces & nephews. COOK, Anna J., age 83 years, passed away at her home, 1934 Ellis Street, Monday, December 22, (1947), following a lingering illness. Mrs. Cook had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past forty years and had led an active Christian life. Surviving relatives include one step-son, William Cook, Warren, Ore.; also nieces and nephews in Toronto, Canada. The remains rest at the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted, Friday, December 26, at 1 p.m. with Alfred McLeod officiating, assisted by Ernest Nelson, New Westminster, B. C. Interment in the Lynden Cemetery.

COOK, Bettie Joan, a resident of Bellingham, WA, for over 50 years, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at the age of 80. Bettie was born Aug 22, 1926, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Orvile and Bessie (Brown) Dudding. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Phil Smith, in 1972. She married Lloyd Cook in 1974 and he passed away in 1998. Her grandson, Jeffery P. Smith, passed away in 1990. Bettie is survived by her son George Smith of Everson, WA, granddaughters Christina (David) Mozey of Brainerd, MN, Melissa Smith of Mt. Vernon, great-grandchildren Jeffrey and Sarah Mozey of Minnesota, her stepchildren, Siblings Robert Dudding of Montana, Pat (Bob) Sully, Dot (Jim) Wilkenson, Pam Hartford, all of Oregon, and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors. Bettie took great joy in her family, friends and pets. She enjoyed fishing, reading, sewing, collecting bears and learning how to use the computer. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, July 25 at 12 p.m. at VFW.

COOK, Cornelius - Funeral services for Mr. Cornelius "Neal" Cook, age 68, of 711 North 8th St., Lynden, were conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1985, at 2 p.m. in Bethel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Ken Havert officiating. Committal services and interment in Monumenta Cemetery preceded at 1:15 p.m. Mr. Cook, who died suddenly at his home on Saturday, Feb. 2, (1985) was born in Bozeman, Mont. (April 28, 1916), and moved to the Lynden area from Minnesota in 1947. He was employed as a mechanic for 23 years at Syl Weiddkamp's Service Garage in Lynden. A member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, he was active in the men's society there. He was married to Catherine Adema in Milaca, Minn., on March 25, 1942. He is survived by his wife Catharine (sic), a son, H. James and wife Gay of Everett; five daughters, Theresa Gustafson and Mrs. Kathleen and husband Louis Nickerson, all of Lynden, Mrs. Sharon and husband Larry Cummings of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Marilyn and husband Brian Brink of Bellingham, and Mrs. Barbara and husband Terry Veltkamp of Bellflower, Cal; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Weidenaar and wife Ruth of Lynden; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie and husband John Scholten of Everson, and Mrs. Bertha and husband Walt Anderson of Milaca, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Rea Cook of Milaca; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kelley, on Jan. 17, 1985.

COOK, Dale, of Seattle, age 68, former Bellingham resident, passed away Wed. July 6, 1983. Survivors include his wife, Ruth F.; daughter, Brenda L. Banks and 3 grandchildren, Bryan, Angela & Tamara, all of Seattle. Memorial services will be held Wed. July 13, at 1 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park, Ferndale, Wa.

COOK, Debra Colleen, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Cook of Blaine, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, Jan. 30th, (1958). Besides the parents Debra is survived by two brothers, Neil and Robert, both at home. Graveside services were held Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Blaine cemetery with Rev. Evan David officiating, under direction of the McKinney Funeral Home.

COOK, Donna L. - Funeral service for Donna L. Cook, age 52, of 1107 Roland St., will be Tues. Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Nething officiating. Interment Bay View Cemetery. Mrs. Cook passed away Fri. Dec. 31, 1982. COOK, Dora Patients, age 72, of 1809 Wilson Street, passed away at home Monday, December 13, (1954). Mrs. Cook had been a resident of this community the past 62 years and was a member of the Fairhaven Methodist Church. Surviving relatives include the husband, M. Clyde at home; a daughter, Mrs. Rosetta Blackman of Concrete; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dale, Glen and Theo Rutschy of Olympia and Harvey Rutchy of Grandview, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Connie Zwick and Mrs. Millie Nichols of Welcome, and Mrs. Grace Harris of Belfast, and numerous nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Alfred Palmer, Friday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. Final resting place Bay View Cemetery.

COOK, Ella, Mrs. George Cook, age 82, of Lynden, passed away Saturday, April 1, (1967) in a local hospital. She was the daughter of a pioneer Lynden district family and the widow of Dr. George Cook. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Nicholas Lidstone of Bellingham, one son Jonathan K. Musser in California, one sister Mrs. Charles Lundgren of Portland and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bingham and Jerns Funeral Home with Rev. Winn officiating. Interment Bayview Cemetery.

COOK, Etoile - Our beloved aunt and friend, Etoile Cook, or affectionately known as Auntie ToTo or "Cookie", passed away May 23, 2007. She was the 8th and last daughter born to Ulisses and Nancy (Flippen) Pack. Left at an early age by her father and mother, she was reared by her sisters. Determination, drive and vision allowed her to see her future. Without formal education, but with charm, humor, professionalism and determination she advanced to the position of supervisor of Pacific Northwest Bell and retired in 1982 after 36 years of service. She loved visiting her place in the Hawaiian Islands with friends and family and eventually gave it to a friend, which was so typical. She was a most generous and caring person. She departs this world with love and affection from nieces and nephews and particularly from her grandnieces, the Huffman girls, Emily, Sarah and Katie whom she loved to dote on and they loved to share their love with her. At her request, no services will be held.

COOK, Euphemia Turnbull, age 96 of 1075 Golden Eagle Drive, Ferndale, passed away Saturday, December 4, 1982. Mrs. Cook had been a resident of Ferndale since 1960; was preceded in death by her husband, George Cook in 1971; and is survived by a sister, June Lindsay Lumsden of White Rock, B.C.; a niece, Catherine Snowden of Ferndale. COOK, Everett G. age 47, of San Francisco, passed away in that city Monday, August 8, (1949). Mr. Cook was a former resident of Baker, Montana. Surviving relatives include his mother, Mrs. Neil MacLay, of Baker, Montana; four cousins, Gene James of the U.S. Navy, Lem James, of Bellingham, Mrs. May May (sic), of Yakima, and Mrs. Gladys Howe, of Bellingham, also a great uncle, Frank Caldwell, of Salem, Oregon. Funeral services will be conducted at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, Friday, August 12, at 10 a.m. (S. T.). Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

COOK, Forest Wayne - A memorial service for Forest Wayne Cook of 2501 E. St. will be at 3:45 p.m. Friday at Washington Square apartments with the Rev. Harold Minkler officiating. Mr. Cook, 52, died Friday, May 2, 1997, in Seattle. Born Dec. 8, 1944, to Forest and Catherine Cook in Sedro-Woolley, he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Mr. Cook enjoyed golf and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include daughter Heather Zender of Deming, his mother of Bellingham, brother Allan Cook of Seattle, two nephews and one niece.

COOK, Forrest D., Sr., age 63, of 2334 Cherry St., passed away at a local hospital Saturday, May 31, (1958), following an extended illness. Mr. Cook had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 14 years and was a retired shipwright; a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion, Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7. He is survived by his wife, Gladys J.; 10 sons, Forrest Jr., Gene L., Richard, Donald, Thomas and Terrance all of Bellingham; M. Sgt. Norman, U.S. Army in Maryland; Sp. 3 Jack, U.S. Army, Germany; William in Portland; John L. of Orcas Island; 5 daughters, Mrs. Norma Thorneycroft, Mrs. JoAnn Marshall and Miss Betty Cook, all of Bellingham; Mrs. Shirley Farley of Portland; Miss Sandra Cook at home; 10 grandchildren. COOK, George Frederick, Dr., age 74 years, of 2201 Henry Street, passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday, May 13, (1953). Dr. Cook was a prominent physician and surgeon in Bellingham. He was born September 8, 1878, in Mason City, Ill., the son of F. Halsey and Harriet E. Sikes Cook. He was educated at the Illinois Wesleyan College, the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He graduated and began his internship in 1904. He began his practice in Bellingham in 1906, and married Ella V. Musser March 22, 1930. At the time of his death Dr. Cook was a staff member of St. Luke's Hospital and chief of staff of St. Joseph's Hospital. He was president of the Whatcom County Medical Society in 1910 and 1932. Dr. Cook was an honorary life member and past exalted ruler of the Bellingham Lodge No. 194, B.P.O.E., also a member of the Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F. & A. M., the Bellingham Consistory and the Nile Temple Shrine of Seattle. He leaves to survive his wife, Ella Cook; one daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Lidstone, in California; one son, Jack Musser in California; one brother Dr. Lewellyn Cook, physician and surgeon, in Anacortes, Wash.; one niece, Mrs. Barbara Merritt, of Seattle; also five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, May 15, at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home, with the Rev. COOK, Gertrude C. "Gertie" 61, of 306 W. 2nd St., Nooksack, passed away Aug. 24, (1994) at home. She was born Dec. 7, 1932 in Rock Rapids, Iowa to John and Gertie Van Malkenhorst Kortus. She married William F. "Bill" Cook on Feb. 6, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Cook was former commander of the Sumas American Legion, Post No. 212, and a member of the Whatcom County Precious Moment Club. She was very active in countywide volunteer services and with the Everson Christian Reformed Church. She was a veteran of the Korean War where she served in the Air Force as a sergeant and radar operator. After her husband completed his career in the Air Force, they retired to Whatcom County in 1970. She worked at Simplot Foods in Ferndale for 20 years and retired from there three years ago. She is survived by her husband Bill Cook of the family home; two sons, William John Cook of Hawaii and Darell F. Cook and wife Judy of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Debra M. Woods and husband Kenneth of Ferndale and Patricia A. Cook of Redmond; four brothers, Al Kortus of Everson, John Kortus of Ferndale, Tony Kortus of Lynden and Bill Kortus of Lincoln, Neb.; five sisters, Jennie Schab Benton City, Effie Schmidt of Hay, Wash., Cora Winterberg of Lynden, Jody Cure of Lakewood, Calif. and Etta Silves of Bellingham; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. COOK, Gladys Julia - A funeral for Gladys Julia Cook of Bellingham will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery. Mrs. Cook died Saturday, April 19, 1997, at St. Francis Extended Health Care. She was 96. Born Feb. 28, 1901, to John and May Curtis Guider in Fairview, Kan., she married Forest D. Cook on June 21, 1919. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband in 1959; a daughter, Sandra Cook; sons Forest C. Cook and John Cook; three sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include daughters Norma Thorneycroft, Betty Cook and JoAnn Loomis, all of Bellingham, and Shirley Arendell of Oregon; sons Bill Cook, Gene Cook and Dick Cook, all of Bellingham, Don Cook and Terry Cook of Ferndale, Jack Cook and Tom Cook of Oregon, and Norman Cook of Kansas; sister Velma VanBenthuysen of Texas; 37 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

COOK, Gladys Juliana, of Lynden, WA passed away September 13, 2016, twenty six days after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born on August 18th, 1916 to Arnoldus and Helena Blankers, the sixth of eight children. Gladys attended Ebenezer Christian School and graduated as valedictorian from Lynden High School in 1934. Following studies at Western Washington University and Success Business College, she worked for the Whatcom County Dairyman's Association, the Railroad Retirement Board in Washington, D.C., and the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland, OR. On March 23, 1939, she married Dr. John Cook, who had a dental practice in Lynden. They were married for 45 years and raised four daughters. During this time, Gladys worked at the Lynden Library, was a member of the First Reformed Church, and was involved in numerous organizations including the Mt. Baker Dental Society, the Association of Retarded Children of Whatcom County, Auxiliaries of the American Legion, and as a Campfire Girl troop leader. She was instrumental in making education available for special needs children. Gladys was a great mother – dignified, nurturing, inspirational and respectful of others. Gladys “Nana” treasured her grandchildren and made special time for them with tea parties and one-on-one visits during the summer. Her Christian faith was central to her life. She had a way of making one feel cherished. Her legacy of love is something we will always treasure. She was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Stephanie Cook, and grandson James Rogers, Jr. We are forever thankful to neighbors Kay and Steve Price, caregiver Heidi Sorenson, and Evergreen Hospice for their love and care to Gladys in her later years. A memorial service and reception will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at First Reformed Church in Lynden at 2 p.m.

COOK, Henry, age 81 of 2729 Alderwood, passed away January 10, (1976). A lifetime resident of Whatcom County, Mr. Cook was a retired quarryman, employed by Columbia Cement Plant. COOK, Ira Jones, age 74 years, passed away at the home of his brother, Clyde Cook, 1809 Wilson Avenue, Monday, February 24, (1947). Mr. Cook came to Whatcom County forty-one years ago and had been postmaster at Deming, Wash., for the past thirty years. He was a life member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 194, and also a member of Bellingham Lodge No. 56, Knights of Pythias. The survivors include one step-daughter, Mrs. Mildred Macauley, Deming, Wash.; two grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Cook, this city; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Northcutt, Medford, Okla. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Rev. James M. Wilson, Wednesday, February 26, at 1:30 p.m. Officers of the Elks will give their ritualistic services. Officer and member of the K. of P. will be honorary casket bearers. Cremation.

COOK, Jeanette V., age 61, of 2832 Lyle St., passed away in a local hospital Friday, June 3, (1960). Mrs. Cook had resided in Bellingham for the past 17 years; was a member of the Zenobia Club and the Hatsu Temple of the Daughters of the Nile; was a member and past president of the State V. F. W. Auxiliary; was member of the auxiliary of World War I Barracks No. 255; was a member of the D.A.R. in Anacortes; was a member of the A.A.U.W. Survivors are her husband, Harry, at home; two brothers, Co. Fred P. VanDuzee, of Sepulveda, Calif. and Everett Van Duzee, in Texas; Mother, Mrs. Charles Daugherty and one sister, both in La Jolla, Calif. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Arthur Bezanson Tuesday, June 7 at 1:00 p.m. followed by cremation.

COOK, Jennie Adriana, age 68 years, of Sumas, passed away at her home, Wednesday, Dec. 28, (1960). Mrs. Cook had been a resident of Sumas since 1937 and was a member of the Sumas Christian Reformed Church. Survivors include two sons, John of Port Heuenene, Calif., and Cornelius of Blaine; six daughters, Mrs. Anna Reiff of Centralia, Mrs. Nellie Slotemaker of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Cornelia Bol and Mrs. Carol VanWeerdhuizen, both of Sumas, and Mrs. Pearl Daniels of Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Mrs. Adrian Wichers of Seattle; one brothers, Henry Nicollass of Ferndale; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Jorrissen of Lynden, and Mrs. John Freuhling of Seattle; also 27 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. COOK, Jimmie Luther, age 79, of 1531 Grant St., Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, June 14, (1977). Mr. Cook had owned and operated Cook's Fine Food Cafe for the past 7 years. he was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bellingham, Culinary Beverage workers Local No. 451. He had served in the US Army in WWII. Surviving his wife, Thelma; 1 son, Benjamin Cook of Richland; 1 daughter, Bonnie Jo Cook of Bellingham; 2 grandsons, Brad and Jason Cook of Richland. Services will be held at Veroske's Bellingham Chapel, Friday, June 17 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be at Bayview Cemetery.

COOK, Johanne, age 77 of Lynden passed away in a local rest home Thursday, July 7, (1966). A resident of Lynden since 1912, she was a member of the Third Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Lena Martin of Bellingham; Mrs. Gertrude VanderKamp and Mrs. Joanne Pasma, both of Ripon, California; three sons, Dr. John Cook of Lynden; Marinus of Yakima and William J. of Pullman. A brother, Hugo Van Weerthuizen of Sultan. Seven sisters, Mrs. William Van Ry, Mrs. Sherman Starkenburg and Mrs. Bert Vander Ploeg, all of Lynden; Mrs. Marie Honcoop of Everson; Mrs. Leonard Radder of Everett; Mrs. Dave Dykstra and Mrs. Bernard Van Diest, both of Sumas. COOK, John, Dr., age 72, of 1019 Front St., Lynden, passed away in Seattle on Sun., April 1, (1984). Born June 20, 1911 in the Netherlands, Dr. Cook had been a Lynden resident for almost his entire life. He graduated from the University of Oregon Dental School and opened his private practice in Lynden in 1935, retiring in 1982, thus ending a career of 47 years. During WWII, he served in the US Army Dental Corp and was also active for many years in the US Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of Lt. Col. He was past president of the Mt. Baker District Dental Society, was a member of the Washington State & American Dental Associations, also past president of the Washington Board of Dental Examiners and a member of the Washington Gold Foil Study Club and past member of the Frank Allen Study Club. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Lynden where he served for many years as an elder, was a member of the Lynden Noon Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post in Lynden and was also a charter member of the board of Cascade Christian Home in Lynden. He was married to his wife Gladys Blankers in Lynden on March 23, 1939. Survived by his wife Gladys; 3 daughters, Mrs. Joanne & husband Stephen Syre of Moses Lake, Linda Lagerwey of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Trish & husband Jim Rogers of Edmonds; 7 grandchildren; a brother William Cook of Fresno, Calif.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lena (Vern) Martin of Bellingham, Mrs. Gertrude (Joe) VanderKamp and Mrs. Joanne (Rich) Pasma, both of Ripon Calif. and numerous nieces & nephews. COOK, Maggie Leona, age 80, of 615 High Street, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, December 27, (1950). COOK, Marvel G., age 53, long time Sedro Woolley resident died at her home Monday (Oct. 24, 1977). She was born in Bellingham, Dec. 24, 1923. COOK, Minnie Violet, 81, 6107 Apollo Drive, Ferndale, died Thursday at home. Mrs. Cook was born as Minnie Rowland on June 12, 1910, in McCall, Idaho. She grew up in McCall and moved to Bellingham in 1956. She married Raymond Cook in Bellingham, who preceded her in death in 1975. They owned and operated a mink farm and raised Devon cattle. She was a member of Broadway Christian Church, and enjoyed crafts and needle work. Survivors include a son, Robert Stewart of McCall, Idaho; a daughter, Ruth L. Hall of Ferndale; a sister, Blanche Fields of McCall, Idaho; a brother, Emery Rowland of McCall, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heikkila Funeral Home in McCall, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Pollock officiating. Burial will follow at the Spink Cemetery in McCall. COOK, Norine S. - A private family service for Norine Sexton Cook of Bellingham was held Wednesday. Mrs. Cook died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Mount Baker Care Center in Bellingham. She was 95. Born Nov 12, 1904 to Eugene and Mary (Campion) Sexton in Rochester, Minn, she was one of three siblings born into a farming family. When she was 18, she moved to Chicago to pursue a secretarial/bookkeeping career. In 1942 she married William Wilson Cook. He died in 1959. In 1971 she moved to Billings, Mont and in 1989 she moved to Bellingham. She enjoyed walking and keeping up on current events. Survivors include daughter Jean Rahn of Bellingham; grandchildren Shannon Rahn of Seattle and Andrew Rahn of Bozeman, Mont; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Westford Funeral Home.

She was born in Sedro Woolley in 1923 the daughter of Lawrence & Edna Burns. She graduated from Mt. Baker High School the class of 1941 & received her Nursing Degree from Providence Nursing School in 1947. She had been most recently employed at Mid Valley Hospital in Omak. She is survived by her husband Robert A.; a daughter, Sheryl McKinney, Tonasket; Son, Robert H., Okanogan; A sister, Neva Swanson, Sedro Woolley; Her Mother Edna F. Burns, Sedro Woolley; & 6 grandchildren. Her Father "Blackie" Burns preceded her in death in 1974. COOKE, Charles Clay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clay Cooke, now of Seattle but formerly of Bellingham, passed away at the age of 25 years, Dec. 21, 1944, in the South Pacific while serving as third engineer, in maritime service. Charles was born and grew up in Bellingham where he attended the Campus school, later moving to Seattle, where he was a member of the Woodland Park Methodist church. COOKE, Clay died April 6, (1983) in Seattle. He was born Oct. 17, 1893 in Goshen and lived in the Bellingham area for about 20 years before he moved to Seattle. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and a sister-in-law. A memorial services was held Monday.

COOLEY, Glenn D., age 87, of 2400 Samish Way, passed away Thursday, August 14, 1986. COOLEY, Virginia L. - A memorial service for Virginia L. Cooley of Bellingham will be at 5 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Bellingham. Mrs. Cooley died at home Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998. She was 73. Born Oct. 26, 1924, to Glenn and Martha Scott Strode in Bellingham, she was a lifelong Bellingham resident. Mrs. Cooley became the city's first meter reader in 1958 and worked as the office manager for Whatcom County Sheriff's Department for 12 years. She contracted systematic lupus in 1968 and served as an officer in the lupus support group for many years. She enjoyed writing poems, short stories, articles and letters to editors and government officials. Survivors include sons David Cooley of Lynnwood, Darrell Cooley of Bainbridge and Gregg Cooley of Bow; daughter Pamela Ross of Bellingham; her mother of Bellingham; sister Jessie Montgomery of Granger; brothers Dale Strode, Glen Strode and Arthur Strode, all of Whatcom County; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. COOMES, Paul, of 234 Marine Drive, Blaine, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1993, at his home. He was 62. COOPER, Bobbi, 55, of 4000 Flynn Road, died at her home Friday, Feb. 28, 1992. She moved to Whatcom County from Florida two years ago. She was employed as a secretary at Bellingham Covenant Church. COOPER, Donald E., of Bellingham died Tuesday, May 31, 1994, at his home. He was 66. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Greenacres Funeral Home. His hobbies included traveling in his motor home, yard work, gardening, fishing, hunting and woodworking. He married his wife, Jennie, in 1970 in Blaine. She preceded him in death in 1990. He was also preceded in death by his father in 1945 and a brother, Jerry, in 1970. COOPER, Flora L. - A graveside service for Flora L. (Davenport) Cooper of Everson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Nooksack Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 82. Born Sept. 24, 1917, to Joseph and Ruthie Anne (Jones) Kelsey in Cowlington, Okla., she grew up there. In 1932, she married Lyfus Davenport in VanBuren, Ark. After they divorced, she moved to Whatcom County in 1954, first living in Lynden and then Everson. In 1969, she married George Cooper Sr. He died in 1972. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, traveling and caring for her cats. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Linda Fuller, a brother, a sister, four stepsisters and one grandchild. Survivors include sons Lonnie Davenport of Everson and Bill Davenport of Rohnert Park, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

COOPER, Julius Theodore "Ted" 86, formerly of 7711 Kendall Road in Maple Falls, died Saturday at the Lynden Christian Rest Home. No funeral services were planned. COOPER, Mamie Lucy, Tsatsamia, age 95 of 3860 Five Cedars Place, Deming, WA, passed away Sept. 7, 1993 in Deming. She was born June 30, 1898 in Sardis, B.C. to Charley and Ida Ensley and has been a lifelong Whatcom County resident. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Nooksack 1910 Shaker Church. Mamie was the oldest member of the Nooksack Tribe. She held the trophy for Fastest Hop-Picker since 1977. COOPER, Preston - Private memorial services for Preston Cooper, 65, a former Whatcom County resident, were held Friday in Everson. He died Thursday (Nov. 8, 1984) in Sun City West, Ariz. A member of Bellingham High School's first graduating class in 1937, he was the city tennis champion and later played on the Western Washington University tennis team. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, and was in the Army Air Corps. He and his wife, Aileen, owned wood furniture stores in four Puget Sound cities, selling the businesses in 1971. Surviving are his wife, one son, one daughter and a sister.

COOPER, Rachel Marie, infant daughter of Rachel A. Lorenz and Gerald Cooper of Lummi, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, (1976). Also surviving are one brother, Russell; grandparents, Leonard and Leona Lane of Lummi, Clara Cooper of Everett; great-grandmother, Mamie Cooper of Everson; numerous other relatives. COOPER, Richard N., age 47, of Bellingham, died Fri. March 3, (1989). He is survived by his wife Ruth Cooper; 2 sons, Richard Jr. & Christopher; 1 daughter, Tracy; 2 grandchildren; 1 brother, George Cooper of Deming; sister Jean Hunter of Seattle and numerous nieces & nephews. COOPER, Robert Bob, age 67, of Nooksack, passed away Thurs. Jan. 30, (1986). He was a retired logger, veteran of WWII. Survived by his wife Verlie Cooper; 2 sons, William Cooper of Deming, Philip Hunter of Nooksack; 1 daughter, Patricia File of Mississippi; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Allie Hoskins of Bellingham; numerous nieces, nephews & other relatives. COOPER, Russell Allen, age 18, of Deming, Wash., passed away suddenly at a Tacoma hospital (Jan. 1949). He had been a Deming resident all his life, attended Mt. Baker High School, and was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Cooper, of Deming; one brother, Marvin Cooper; two sisters, Myrtle and Donna Cooper, all at home. Funeral service[s] were conducted Monday, January 24 at 2 p.m. in the Clearwater Church in Deming, with the Rev. G. A. Johnson, pastor, officiating. Interment in Deming Cemetery under the direction of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home.

COOPER, Sarah E., age 77 years, passed away at a local hospital, Monday April 9, (1951). Mrs. Cooper came to Bellingham 47 years ago and is survived by the husband, Joseph M. Cooper, 2525 King Street; one son, Tony U. Cooper, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Verlie Edwards, a granddaughter, Mrs. Lorena Gray and one great-grandson, Richard A. Gray, all of Bellingham. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. John E. Parrott, Wednesday, April 11, at 3 p.m. Final resting place, Woodlawn Cemetery.

COOPER, Thomas J., (Coghlan), age 16, of 4225 Salt Spring Rd., Ferndale, passed away Sun. Aug. 20, 1978. A lifetime resident of the area, he was a Junior at Ferndale High School & was active on the wrestling team. Surviving [are] his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Donald Cooper of Ferndale, brother William Riley of Quilcene, sister Kathy Hughes of Everett. Services will be held Tues. COOPER, Von, 48, Mt. Vernon, died unexpectedly Thursday Oct. 2, 1980 in an Everett hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1931 in Newport, Arkansas. Mr. Cooper was a Air Force veteran. His marriage to Susan Allen took place Dec. 19, 1965 in Palo Alto, Calif. He came to Skagit County in 1966 & had been in the automotive business with Carlson's Pontiac & Gubrud Motors. He served as Pres. of Perry-Cooper Inc., developers of Lake Connor Park, Lake Stevens. His membership included the Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge No. 1604 & the Swinomish Yacht Club. Surviving are his wife Susan at home; 2 daughters, Debbie Harper, San Antonio, Texas & Vicki Wheeler, San Jose, Calif.; 2 sons Alan Cooper, Marysville & Jay Cooper, San Antonio, Texas; 1 step-daughter Gisselle Tyler, Mt. Vernon; 2 step-sons, Jack & Jerry Allen, both of Mt. Vernon; also surviving are his mother Renia Cooper, Vacaville, Calif.; 3 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 5 sisters, Lillian Harvey, Zephyr Cove, Nevada, Mildred Johnson, Grass Valley, Calif., Velma McCary, San Ramon, Calif., Faye Iacchei, Gardena, Calif. & Shirley Cooper, Lafayette, Calif.; 2 brothers, Gene Cooper, Sacramento, Calif. & Dean Cooper, Costa Rica; numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Cooper will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Oct. 6th at the Hulbush Chapel, Burlington. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Lawn Memorial Park.

COOPER, Willafred "Willie" L., age 57, 33231 Balch Road, Bellingham, passed away Mon. Jan. 17, 1994 on Lummi Reservation. She was born Dec. 11, 1936 in Bellingham to William and Evelyn Toby. Willie was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church, was founder of the Lummi Care Program and was the first alcohol counselor at Lummi. She was preceded in death by her parents and six children. Survivors are daughters, Donita Washington-Tso, Doreen Caswell, Victoria Washington-Mamac, Christy, Marceline, Geraldine and Laura Washington; sons, Dean and Jim Washington; 24 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; step-daughter, Shellina Cooper; step-son, Brody Cooper, all of Lummi Reservation; numerous foster and god children; sisters, Juanita Jefferson, Lummi; Marlene Corcoran, Milton, WA; brothers, William G. Toby, Sacramento; Gale Toby, Seattle; Tony Toby, Lummi. Prayer service will be Thurs. Jan. 20, 7 p.m. and funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 21, 10 a.m., both at the family home, 2661 Lummi Shore Road. Officiating both services will be Mr. Bobby Joe. COOPER, William, age 74, of 1701 Sixth St., passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, Nov. 19, (1958). Mr. Cooper had resided in this community for the past 33 years; was a retired electrical worker and nurseryman, having been self-employed; was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; Abbotsford Lodge No. 70 A.F.&A.M.; Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 31, I.O.O.F.; Bay City Encampment, No. 23; Rebekah Lodge No. 43. Survivors are his widow, Lily, at home and a nephew, Dean Brian, of Vancouver, B. C. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Calvin W. Moore and officers of the I.O.O.F. No. 31, Monday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

COOPRIDER, Elsie H., age 77, of 1514 G St., passed away at home Monday, July 25, (1960). Mrs. Cooprider had been a resident of this community for the past 17 years and was a member of the First Advent Christian Church and the WCTU. Surviving relatives include the husband, Rev. George E., at the family home; a son Harold, of Whittier, Calif.; two step-sons, Walter of Colfax, Calif., and Albert of Kennewick; three step-daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Arnold, of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Banister, of Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Mildred Moretz, of Dayton, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray B. Cloud, of Edmonds, and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Warriner of Bellingham. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Don Wrigley, Friday, July 29, at 1 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

COOPRIDER, George E., age 92, formerly 2844 Broadway, passed away in a nursing home in Dayton, Wash., Sunday, July 31, (1966). Rev. Cooprider was a fifteen-year resident of this city before moving to Dayton in 1963, and was a member of the Advent Christian Church. Survivors are two sons, Harold A., Scottsdale, Ariz.; G. Albert, Sunnyvale, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Arnold, Oakland, Calif; Mrs. Ruth Bannister, Fresno, Calif; Mrs. Mildred Moretz of Dayton, Wash.; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Alvin Lobb Tuesday, August 2 at 2:30 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
