EERKES, Herbert - Funeral services for Herbert Eerkes, age 76, of 1250 West Front Street, Lynden, were conducted on Tuesday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lynden Assembly of God with Revs. Harold Arneson and Grant Whipple officiating. Burial followed in Monumenta Cemetery. Born in Hull, Iowa, Mr. Eerkes, who died on Friday, July 7, 1994 had been a Lynden resident for more than seventy-two years. He had operated the Security Market in Lynden for 27 years and for the past 18 years had been a sale representative for Van Zanten Brothers. He was a member of the Geneva Community Church and was married to Jan Stuurmans in Lynden on June 27, 1923. Besides his wife, Jan, he is survived by a son, Jerry, of Kennewick; a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Mason of Laguna Beach, California; six grand and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Martin Eerkes, of Lynden; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Vandermay of Lynden and Mrs. Emma O'Dell of Deming and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

EERKES, Jan, formerly of 1250 Front St., Lynden, died at the Christian Rest Home in Lynden on Saturday, Dec. 24, 1994. She was 93. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery in Lynden. The daughter of Sam and Jess (DeBoer) Stuurmans, Jan was born near Yakima on July 11, 1901 and came to the Lynden area with her family in 1902. On June 27, 1923 she was married to Herbert Eerkes in Lynden. They owned and operated the former Security Market in Lynden for 27 years. She was active for many years at the Geneva Community Church in Bellingham. Prior to entering Christian Rest home in 1982 she attended what is now Word of Life Church in Lynden. Mr. Eerkes died in 1978. She is survived by a son, Jerry Eerkes and wife Pam of Mount Vernon; daughter Maxine Hanson of Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerrit Stuurmans of Cave Junction, Ore.; a sister, Grace Pearl of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and numerous other relatives. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers.

EERKES, Martin M. - Funeral services for Mr. Martin M. Eerkes, who died in Bellingham on Sunday, March 2, were conducted on Thursday, March 6, in Third Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Gerrit W. Sheeres officiating. Burial followed in Monumenta Cemetery. Mr. Eerkes, 1117 Front St., Lynden, was born on Jan. 15, 1906, and had been a Lynden resident for the past 78 years. A member of Third Christian Reformed Church, Mr. Eerkes is remembered best as the owner of the Star Mercantile in Lynden. He started working for his father at the age of 14 and operated it until his retirement in 1978 at the age of 72. Known for his kindness and generosity, Mr. Eerkes was featured in the "Someone Special" article of the Bellingham Herald inn October of 1978. During the Depression years he would fill baskets with food and take them to needy families in the Lynden area. He operated his store in the old fashioned manner - taking orders over the phone, making home deliveries and extending credit to his customers. He was married to Henrietta Assink in Lynden on Dec. 20, 1933. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta; two daughters, Mrs. Marlene and husband Don Riggan of Olympia and Mrs. Kay and husband Ed Sturgeon of Lacey; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Vandermay of Lynden and Mrs. Emma O'Dell of Deming; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

EERKES, Rodney, 69, life long Washington resident passed away at the family home west of Mount Vernon Saturday, October 25, 1997. He was born in Oak Harbor June 2, 1928, the son of Riekele and Cora Koetje Eerkes. He started his education there and moved with the family to Mount Vernon in 1941. He finished his schooling in Mount Vernon and started working in farming and later farmed himself raising potatoes and flower bulbs and was united in marriage to Carmen Brandstrom in Burlington July 4, 1950. He also worked later for the Koetje Lime Company and later worked for a number of years for the Erwin Eerkes Contracting firm as heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1983. Mr. Eerkes enjoyed the outdoors in hunting, fishing, gardening, camping and had tagged perfect 5 point elk in Eastern Washington in 1975. He enjoyed collecting antique bottles and also was a rock hound. He was well known for his neighborly and generous way being a quiet, friendly man. He was baptized in the Christian Reformed Church in Oak Harbor and was a member of the International Operating Engineer's Union local #302. Survivors are his wife Carmen at the family home; 1 daughter, Cindy Eerkes of Bothell; 1 son and daughter-in-law Steve and Debbie Eerkes of Mount Vernon; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Marion Clizbe and Augusta and Ernie Andriff all of Bellingham; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Sheila Eerkes of Mount Vernon; 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and other close family members. His parents, a brother Erwin and sister Marilyn have preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Kern Funereal Chapel, Mount Vernon, at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 1997 with cremation to follow the services at the Mount Vernon Crematory. Inurnment will be at his favorite hunting grounds in Eastern Washington. Mr. Eerkes will lie in state for viewing at the Kern Funeral Chapel from 9 a.m. through the services Wednesday, October 29, 1997.

EGAN, Alexander B., age 88 of Blaine passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, (1958) following a lingering illness. Mr. Egan was a member of the Orangeman Lodge. Services will be conducted Tuesday Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clarence Lund officiating, under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home in Blaine. Interment Blaine Cemetery.

EGAN, Frank M., age 53 years, Seattle, passed away suddenly in a local hospital Tuesday, Nov. 13, (1962). Mr. Egan was an insurance adjuster for the Hartford Insurance Co. He is survived by his wife, Eileen. The remains were forwarded to the Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Seattle under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

EGAN, James P. - At his request, no services will be held for James P. Egan, 71, who died Monday (Jan. 9, 1989) in a Bellingham hospital. Mr. Egan, 1224 Cornwall Ave., was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Iowa. He was educated in Iowa and attended Harvard University. He taught at many universities including Indiana University, the University of Texas and Washington State University. Mr. Egan's field was experimental psychology, with an emphasis on acoustics and signal detection theory. He belonged to many professional associations include the Acoustical Society of America, the Society of Experimental Psychologists, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Speech and Hearing Association. Survivors include a son, Phillip Egan of Palo Alto, Calif.; and a sister, Lee Smith of Lake Grove, Ore. Arrangements are by Jerns & LeVeck Funeral Home.

EGBERG, Anna Marie Blade, formerly of Bellingham, died Thursday, December 14, (1972). She was 86 years of age and lived in Seattle. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Dahlquist and Mrs. Nymah Hunt, both of Seattle; a sister and brother and six grandchildren.

EGBERT, Esther, age 85 of 5280 Northwest Rd., passed away Monday May 21, 1979. She is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Spence of Everett, Mrs. Edith Rath, City, Mrs. Caroline Guitteau of Everett, numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service Fri. EGERDAL, Gladys of Bellingham died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, in Bellingham. She was 75. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Triumph Lutheran Church in Ferndale. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Born Oct. 25, 1921, to John and Anna Heggem in Velva, N.D., she lived in Whatcom County since 1935. She married Leonard Egerdal on Sept. 27, 1942. Mrs. Egerdal worked at Meridian High School. She enjoyed making ceramics and was a member of Triumph Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, sons Gary L. Egerdal of Ferndale and Wayne T. Egerdal of Bellingham, six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

EGERDAL, Thomas H., age 77, of Ferndale, passed away in a Bellingham hospital Thursday, April 16, (1959) following a brief illness. Mr. Egerdal had been a resident of the Ferndale community the past 23 years and was a member of the Lutheran Free Church. Survivors include his wife, Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Olga Warwick of Bellingham and Mrs. Thelma Smith of San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Harry of Seattle and Leonard of Bellingham; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Anderson of Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Anna Edwardson in Norway; two brothers, John of Murdo, S.D., and Martin in Norway; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Monroe Funeral Chapel Monday, April 20, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. E. P. Dreyer officiating.

EGGEN, Almer N., Rev., age 76, of RFD 2, Everson, passed away in a local hospital Friday, February 7, (1964). A retired Lutheran Minister, Rev. Eggen had resided in Whatcom County for the past 3 years and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lawrence. Survivors are two sons, Arvid T. of RFD 2, Everson and Orville N. of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Roid of Eugene, Oregon; one sister, Mrs. Nina Graavdal of Choteau, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Services will be conducted by Pastor E. M. Bremer at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lawrence Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at the Immanuel Church Cemetery by direction of the Jones Funeral Home.

EGGEN, Geolina, age 76, of Rt. No. 2, Everson, passed away in a local hospital on Thursday, Sept. 27th, (1962). Mrs. Eggen had resided in Eugene, Oregon prior to moving to Everson a year ago., and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors are her husband, Almer N., at home; two sons, Orville, of Spenard, Alaska; Arvid, Rt. No. 2, Everson; one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Roid, of Eugene, Oregon; eleven grandchildren, and one brother Gilbert Broten of Deming, Minnesota. Services will be conducted by Pastor E. M. Bremer on Monday, Oct. 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lawrence followed by burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.

EGGEN, Terry Dean, 6-weeks-old son of Sgt. and Mrs. Arvid T. Eggen, Route 2, Everson, passed away Thursday, May 3, (1945). Surviving aside from the parents, are one brother, Richard, at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Howem, Route 2, Everson; Rev. and Mrs. A. N. Eggen, Eugene, Ore., and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Syre, Route 2, Everson. The remains are at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth. Services will be conducted at the Immanuel Church at Lawrence, Saturday, May 5, at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Clarence Haugen. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.

EGGERT, Anna A., age 94, of 700 32nd St., passed away Sun., April 15 in a local nursing home. She is survived by 4 stepsons, Orren, Leslie M., Marvin K. & Kenneth W. Eggert all of city; stepdaughter Esther Johnson of this city; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren & 7 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Ingwald Swaren & George Swaren of Portland, OR; two sisters, Alma Newcomb of Portland & Minnie Hoggarth of Arlington; several nieces & nephews. EGGERT, Orren W., age 71, of 3446 Ruth Rd., Bellingham, died Saturday, January 30, 1988 in Rancho Mirage,CA. He was born September 9, 1916 in Oakdale, ND & was a resident of the county since 1924. He was a veteran of WWII, active in sports & worked at Bellingham Coal Mine until it closed; later worked in heavy construction, hard rock mining & tunnel work. He retired from the Whatcom County Road Dept., in 1976 and was a member of Teamsters Local No. 231 Retirees Club of Bellingham. Past Post Commander of the Laurel VFW Post No. 3685 & a member of American Legion Post No. 7 of Bellingham. EGGERT, Leslie M., 71, of Bellingham, died Friday, December 5, 1997, in Bellingham. He was born July 2, 1926, in Bellingham to Walter B. and Christina (Olson) Eggert and was a lifetime resident of Bellingham. Mr. Eggert was an Army veteran of WWII. He served in the 24th Infantry Division in the Philippines and was among the first troops in occupied Japan. He was employed by Columbia Cement Co. of Bellingham for 40 years and retired as chief accountant in 1991. He greatly enjoyed his family. Mr. Eggert loved traveling with his wife Barbara, and together they cruised the Panama Canal & covered the entire U.S., especially enjoying Autumn in New England, the Florida Keys, New York City, and Washington, D.C. He was a loving father who always led a great example for his 2 daughters, Timmi & Gretchen. His 3 grandsons were the light of his life ... Joel with his musical abilities and twins Jay & Evan in their athletic accomplishments. But most of all "Papa" was proud to see them developing into such fine young men. Mr. Eggert was an active member of Calvary Temple, having served as a Sunday School teacher, Sound Man, and Board member through the years. He was an avid gardener who raised beautiful roses. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Waters) Eggert of Bellingham, whom he married June 24, 1949, in Bellingham; daughters Timmi Eggert of Bellingham, Gretchen Van Mersbergen & husband Lester of Lynden; and grandsons Joel, Jay & Evan Van Mersbergen of Lynden; brothers Marven (sic) K. Eggert and Kenneth W. Eggert, both of Bellingham, and sister Esther Johnson of Bellingham. He was preceded in death by brother Orren Eggert. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 10, 1997, 2:00 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Strum officiating. EGGERT, Ruby Ellen, age 61 of 1200 Lincoln St. passed away Thurs., July 22, (1976). She is survived by her husband, Orren W.; 1 daughter, Mrs. Lenore DeWitt; 1 son, Melvin D. Peterson; 7 step children, 6 grandchildren, 27 step grandchildren all of Bellingham, 3 sisters, Mrs. Rose Schnabel, Mrs. Gladys McGinnis both city and Mrs. Ethel Myer of Ephrata; 3 brothers, Norman, Edward and Thomas Griffin all of Bellingham, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. EGGLESTON, Hope L. - Graveside services for former Garden Street United Methodist Church member Hope L. Eggleston, 94, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bayview Cemetery with the Rev. William Berney officiating. Mrs. Eggleston, who lived in Whatcom County for more than 80 years, died Monday at the Anacortes Convalescent Center, 1105 26th St., where she had lived for the past seven years. She was born Hope Ramsey on Sept. 11, 1895, in Ethan, S.D. Mrs. Eggleston moved to Bellingham with her grandmother, Katherine Brown. She went by the name of Hope Brown in Bellingham. She married Ray Eggleston in Bellingham on Aug. 7, 1913. He died in Bellingham in 1971. She was a member of the Garden Street United Methodist Church, and was also a past guardian neighbor of the Neighbors of Woodcraft Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and other handiwork. Survivors include two daughters, June Cannon of Bellingham and Kathryn Lowry of Anacortes; one son, Leland Eggleston of Fontana, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes.

EGGLESTON, Marjorie C. of 3906 Silverbeach Ave. died Tuesday, April 27, 1993. She was 77. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. R. L. Christensen officiating. She was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Whatcom County to Merton and Maude Compton. She graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in education and arts and science, and a master's degree in education. She married Richard Eggleston in 1936. Mrs. Eggleston taught school at Columbia and Whatcom schools, Sehome and Bellingham high schools, and Seattle University extension courses. She is survived by her husband of the family home; son Alan Eggleston of Austin, Texas; sisters Elaine Kangas of Seattle and Edith Anderson of Mount Vernon; and one grandchild. EGGLESTON, Mildred McConnaughey, age 85, of Redmond, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, (1986) in Kirkland. She was born in Nooksack and graduated from Nooksack High School. She was a former resident of Ferndale; prior to that she was a Seattle area resident for 17 years and had lived in Redmond for the last three years. Mrs. Eggleston taught school in Ferndale for 12 years and also in Seattle for 17 years. She is survived by three daughters, Maxine and husband Gordon Carroll of Redmond, Audrey and husband Roland Peterson of Ferndale, Wanda and husband Gordon Williams of Redmond; one son Norman and wife Betty McConnaughey of Camano Island; one sister, Mable Searle of Seattle; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 10 at Greenacres Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Fairley officiating. Memorial services were held in the Faith Lutheran Church in Redmond Monday evening, Feb. 10 with Pastor Brian Fairley and Pastor Allen Carlson officiating. EGGLESTON, Richard A. of Bellingham died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1994, at Providence Hospital in Seattle. He was 80. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. R. L. Christensen officiating. Born Feb. 14, 1914, to Theo and Alice Preston Eggleston in Bellingham, he worked for Pacific American Cannery from 1942 to 1967 and was superintendent of the plant. He was a member of the Lutheran church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, on April 27, 1993. Survivors include sons Alan C. Eggleston, Fran H. Eggleston and Trevor H. Eggleston, all of Texas; and brother Gordon Eggleston of Bellingham. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

EGGLESTON, Theodore H., age 72, of 1333 King street, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, Dec. 19, (1955). Mr. Eggleston had been a resident of this community the past 65 years, was a retired P.A.F. watchman, and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Neighbors of Woodcraft. Surviving relatives include the widow, Alice M. at the family home; three sons, Richard A. of this city, Theodore P. of Chicago and Gordon E. of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ray D. of this city and Milton L. of Seattle. The remains rest at Jones' Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Rev. James B. Hughes, Thursday, Dec. 22, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place Bay View Cemetery.

EGGLESTON, Violet Mae, 10-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eggleston of 2627 Williams Street, passed away at a local hospital Saturday, February 27, (1943). Surviving, aside from the parents are three brothers, Dale, George and Dayton, and two sisters, Frances and Yvonne, all at home; also grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bates of this city, and Elizabeth Eggleston at Havre, Mont. The remains are at the funeral Home of Harlow-Hollingsworth.

EGLINTON, Marie, age 63, passed away Saturday, December 25th, (1965). A resident of Bellingham her entire lifetime, she leaves to survive 2 nephews, Vernon Sinlan of Everson and Donald Stuart of Pacific Palisades, California; 3 nieces and 2 cousins. The remains rest at Moles Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.

EGLINTON, Trine, age 84 years, beloved wife of William Eglinton, passed away at the family residence, 2501 Peabody Street, Monday, April 16, (1945) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Eglington (sic) had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 54 years and was a member of the Lutheran church, the Auxiliary of American Legion, the Auxiliary of Foreign Wars, the Mother's club. She was a gold star mother, the Eglinton post Veterans of Foreign Wars at Stanwood being named for her son. Surviving relatives include, beside her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Ricker and Miss Marie Eglinton; one brother, Martin Field and five grandchildren, all of Bellingham. The remains are resting at the funeral home of Bingham-Dahlquist where services will be conducted Thursday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. with the reader from the First Church of Christ Scientist, officiating. Interment, Bay View.

EGLINTON, William, age 88, of 2111 Kentucky, passed away at a local hospital, Thursday, August 11, (1949) following a brief illness. Mr. Eglinton had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 50 years and until recently was a watchman at the Columbia River Packers Assn. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Miss Marie Eglinton, of Buckley, Wash. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 13, at 3:30 p.m. (D.S.T.) at the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Lawrence officiating. EGLUND, Signe, age 41 years, 2610 Woburn Street, passed away at the family residence, Wednesday, April 2, (1947). Mrs. Eglund had been a resident of Bellingham for the past thirty-five years. Surviving relatives include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Danielson, Bellingham; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Knutsen, Blaine; two brothers, Eric D. Danielson, Bellingham, and Carl Otto Danielson, Deming; one sister, Mrs. Helen Sampson, Bellingham; also two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Lester Moore officiating. Interment in Greenacres.

EHERENFIELDT, Florence, born in Bridgewater, South Dakota on October 23, 1888; she died in Oxnard, California, following an extensive illness on August 31, 1984. She had been a resident of Oak Harbor for 46 years and had been employed at the Navy Exchange for 13 years. Following her residence in Oak Harbor, she moved to Bellingham to reside for 9 years and then to southern California where she resided for 18 years. She is survived by 1 daughter, Charlene Neff of Weldon, California; 1 sister, Cornelia Harrison of Los Altos, California; 1 daughter-in-law, Ione Eherenfieldt of Bellingham; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sons, & 2 daughters. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, September 4 at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Washington. EHLE, Carl Frederick, age 80, of 2320 Jaeger St., passed away at home Friday, Dec. 25, (1959). Mr. Ehle had resided in Whatcom County for the past 75 years; was a retired Superintendent of Logging camps; was formerly custodian at the Bellingham High School; was custodian at the Advent Christian Church for the past 26 years; was a member of the Advent Christian Church. EHLERS, Anna, age 69, of 3827 India Street, passed away in a local hospital Friday, Sept. 26, (1947). Mrs. Ehlers had been a resident of this community for the past five years and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church. EHLERS, Anthony - Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony "Tony" Ehlers, age 25, 304 E. Thomas St., Seattle, was celebrated Saturday, Dec. 13, 1986, at 11 a.m. by Father Gerald Mayovsky in St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lynden. Burial followed in Lakeside Cemetery. Tony, who died in a Seattle hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 9, (1986) was born in Bellingham on March 28, 1961. He was raised in Whatcom County and graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1979. A Seattle resident for the past two years, Tony had been employed as a waiter in the executive dining room of First Interstate Bank in Seattle. He had previously been employed at Rosellini's Other Place and had also been employed part-time by a landscaping firm in Seattle. Tony is survived by his parents, Darryl and Louise Ehlers of Lynden; two brothers, Timothy and Dustin Ehlers of the family home; a sister, Julianne Vavra, of West Seattle; a nephew, Dyllan Vara, also of Seattle; grandparents, Jack Hubby of Sumas and Mrs. Frances Stone of Lynden; great-grandmother, Mrs. Florence Hubby of Bellingham; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. EHLERS, Clara M., age 90, of 1509 E. Victor Street, passed away in a local rest home, Tuesday, March 21, (1961) following an extended illness. Mrs. Ehlers had been a resident of Whatcom County since 1902. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clara Caland of Camp LeJuene, N.C.; two sons, Henry A., and Martin F., both of Bellingham; two brothers, Ernest and Fred Baruer, both in Nebraska; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. EHLERS, Fritz Christopher (Dick), age 63, of 1118 14th St., Bellingham, passed away Wed., Sept. 7, (1977). He had been a life time resident of Whatcom Co and was a retired lineman for Puget Sound Power & Light & Blaine City Light. He was a member of the Electrical Workers Local No. 77. Surviving are his wife, Maxine at home; 2 sons, Wayne of Tacoma and Richard of Bothell; his mother, Mrs. Katie Crabtree of Bellingham; 2 sisters, Ethel Lundh and Effie Fowler both of Seattle; a brother, Henry of Lynden; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. EHLERS, George C., age 71, of 1228 State St., passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, July 27, (1949). Mr. Ehlers had resided in this community for the past 4 years and leaves to survive his widow, Louise, of Barney, North Dakota; two sons Roy of Barney, North Dakota, and Dale, of Cave Junction, Ore.; six daughters, Mrs. L. F. Goff, and Mrs. Verne Cady, both of Cave Junction, Oregon; Mrs. Floyd Grinaker of Kindred, N.D.; Mrs. Walter Hanson, of Enderlen, N.D., and Mrs. Arnold Dahlman, of Wahpeton, North Dakota. Also 12 grandchildren and a brother, William Ehlers of Gillette, Wisc. The remains will be forwarded to Wahpeton, North Dakota, by the Harlow-Hollingsworth Funeral Home for services and interment.

EHLERS, Henry A. - Graveside services will be held for Henry A. Ehlers, 87, at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Greenacres Memorial Park. Mr. Ehlers died Monday, (Oct. 1, 1990) at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 12, 1903, in Whatcom County, and had been a lifelong resident of the Bellingham area. Mr. Ehlers was a pioneer on-the-air broadcaster with KVOS radio from the station's beginning in Bellingham in 1927. Later, he worked in retail sales and services for several area businesses. He retired in the early 1970s. He married Lillie Marie Villene on Nov. 13, 1937, in Bellingham, and she survives. Other survivors: daughter Linda Hinton of Tacoma; son David Ehlers of Renton; sister Clara Calland of Solana Beach, Calif.; brother Martin F. Ehlers of Bellingham; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

EHLERS, Henry A. - Graveside funeral services for Henry A. Ehlers, 79, formerly of 2571 Pangborn Road, Lynden, were conducted on Tuesday in Lakeside Cemetery with Rev. John Leaf officiating. Mr. Ehlers passed away in Bellingham on Friday, Feb. 7, 1992. He was born in Lynden on June 8, 1912, the son of Frederick and Katie Ehlers. He graduated from Lynden High School and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the service, he operated a dairy farm on the Pangborn Road until his retirement. He is survived by two sisters, Effie and husband Ray Fowler of Seattle and Freda Lundh of Bellingham, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fritz Ehlers. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

EHLERS, Martin Earl - A graveside service for Martin Earl Ehlers of Keizer, Ore., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Talley officiating. Mr. Ehlers died Thursday, June 12, 1997, in Salem, Ore. He was 67. Born Aug. 17, 1929, to Martin and Martha Intveld Ehlers in Bellingham, he graduated from Western Washington State College, now Western Washington University, in 1952. He married Sharon Anderson on June 21, 1952, in Stanwood. Mr. Ehlers was a member of Salemaires and Garden City Chorus and past president of General Mills Retirement Club. He enjoyed woodworking and barbershop singing. Survivors include his wife of Keizer; daughters Sheri Martin of Keizer and Diane Ehlers of Portland, Ore.; sons Gregory Ehlers of Clackamas, Ore., and Jeff Ehlers of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

EHLERS, Nancy A., age 89 years, of Clearbrook, passed away Saturday, March 30, (1946) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Hunter, in Kent, Washington. Mrs. Ehlers was a pioneer resident of the Clearbrook district having lived there for the past sixty-seven years. Besides the one daughter, she is survived by one son, James P. Ehlers, of Clearbrook; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one niece in Texas. EHLERS, William H. "Bill" age 63, of 2480 Halverstick Rd., Lynden, passed away suddenly Weds. April 19, 1978 as a result of a farming accident. EICHINGER, Fannie Ellen, age 82 years, of Burlington, passed away in that city Monday, Feb. 11, (1957) following a short illness. EIDE, Cornell Ellsworth, age 83, died Tuesday, January 22, 1991, 7 p.m. St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Eide was born August 1, 1907 in La Crosse, WI. He was a resident of Bellingham since 1937. EIDE, Dorothy D. - Services for 51-year Bellingham resident Dorothy D. Eide, 80, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Garden Street Methodist Church. Mrs. Eide died Monday (April 24, 1989) in a Bellingham nursing home. She was born in Beech, N.D., on Feb. 14, 1909. She married Cornell E. Eide in Beech in 1928. Mrs. Eide was a member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary, Sons of Norway and the Esther Fellowship of Garden Street Methodist Church. She loved sewing, cooking and especially gardening. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Eide. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Joyce Eide of Seattle and Marijune Haggard of Kirkland; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. EIDE, John C., a Hoquiam resident for 8 1/2 yrs. died Tue. April 1, 1980 in a hospital in Hoquiam. Born Nov. 30, 1932, in Dickenson, N.D., he moved to Bellingham in 1937, where he graduated from Bellingham High School. In 1955 he received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. He got his professional engineer's license in 1967. On Sept. 4, 1953, he married Mary Katherine Wiggins. He was an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1959. An employee of Puget Power from 1955 to 1971, he also worked for the Grays Harbor PUD from 1971 to 1980. He was an Eagle Scout and an active Scout and 4-H leader. He was a member of the IEEE and the United Methodist Church of Hoquiam. Besides his wife of the family home, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ruth MacKenzie of Bellevue, three sons, Stpehen John, Christopher Cornell and Eric Carl Eide, all of Hoquiam; a granddaughter, Karl Ann MacKenzie of Bellevue, his parents, Cornell and Dorothy Eide of Bellingham and two sisters, Mari June Haggard of Kirkland and Joyce Eide of La Jolla, Calif. EIDE, Paul M. - Funeral services for Paul M. EIDEMILLER, Violet Mae - Bellingham resident Violet Mae Eidemiller of 3054 McLeod Road died Friday (Aug. 31, 1990). She was 83. EIDSVIK, Carl J. - Former Bellingham resident Carl J. Eidsvik Jr., 56, of Alderwood Manor died of a heart attack Feb. 2, (1987) at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Edmonds. Mr. Eidsvik was born June 7, 1930, in Chicago. He had lived in Bellingham for several years before moving recently to the Edmonds area. He was known for his work as a professional square dance caller. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of the family home; four sons, Carey and Randy Eidsvik of Bellingham, Rick Eidsvik of Las Vegas and Dwayne Likens of San Francisco; three daughters, Carlanne Lombardo of Denver, Dana Conover of Charleston, S.C., and Taunia Bargouthi of Denver; his mother, Evelyn Kuhlman of Panorama City, Calif.; four sisters; one brother; and eight grandchildren. EIENE, Barney, 58, of Everson, passed away at his home, Wednesday, Jan. 23, (1963) following a short illness. EIENE, Belle, age 79, of Bremerton, passed away in that city Saturday, June 12, (1954) following a short illness. She had been a resident of Bremerton for the past five years and was formerly a resident of the Clearbrook community. She is survived by one daughter, Trine Eieme (sic) of Bremerton; one son, Barney of Everson; 1 brother, Hans Johnson of Aberdeen; one sister, Jennie Korrell, San Jose, Calif., and five grandchildren. EIENE, Frederick J., age 45 years, of Sumas, Route 1, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, October 13, (1951) following a short illness. EIENE, Trine - Visitation for Trine Eiene of Bellingham will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Lake Side Cemetery. Miss Eiene died Wednesday, March 16, 1994. She was 92. Born Nov. 5, 1901, to Peder and Belle Eiene in Aberdeen, she attended school in Sumas and received her teaching certificate from Bellingham Normal School, now Western Washington University. A primary teacher in Bremerton, she moved to Bellingham in 1967 after retiring. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Caren Eiene; and by her brothers, Percy "Punk" Eiene, Barney Eiene, Fred "Bus" Eiene and Jack Eiene. Survivors include sister-in-law Alice Eiene of Everson; nieces Carol Lagerway of Lynden and Karen Day of Ferndale; nephews George Eiene of Everson, Ken Eiene of Shelton and Bob Eiene of Falls City; and numerous grand-nieces and grandnephews.

EIFORD, John Stanley - A memorial service for John Stanley Eiford will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul Jensen officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Eiford, 79, of Burlington died Thursday, Nov. 24, 1994, at a Burlington care center. Mr. Eiford was born April 7, 1915, to Vladimar and Maria Eiford in Blaine. He was raised and educated there, and graduated from Blaine High School. After living in Anacortes and Bellingham, he became a partner in Dodd and Eiford Hardware Store in 1948 in Blaine. He retired in 1980 from the Cardinal Corporation. An avid football fan and member of the University of Washington's Tyee and President's clubs, Mr. Eiford belonged to the Masons Lodge in Bellingham and the Elks Lodge in Anacortes. He married Wand Fayette on Feb. 14, 1938, in Mount Vernon. Mr. Eiford was preceded in death by son Stanley; brothers Guy Eiford and Ben Eiford; and sister Sally. Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughter Judith Mellott and son Michael Eiford, both of Mount Vernon; sister Seena Mason of Bellingham; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. EIFORD, Stanley Fayette, small son of Mr. and Mrs. John Eiford, passed away at the family home, 1503 Marine Drive, Tuesday, March 19,(1946). EIFORD, Valdimar, 81, died at the home of a daughter near Custer last Friday evening (Mar. 31, 1950), following a short illness. Mr. Eiford had resided in the Custer district for the past 50 years. EILERTON, Sofus, age 77, resident of the Y.M.C.A., passed away at a local hospital Friday, December 22, (1950). He had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 20 years and was a well-known fisherman. Survivors include three daughters in Tacoma. EINARSON, Aleta Linda, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ausberg Einarson of 1600 E. Victor St., passed away in a local hospital Sunday, January 24, (1954). She leaves to survive her parents: one sister Ann Lynn, and two brothers, Lance Gus, Brett Lane, all of the home. also her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ina Einarson of this city. EINARSON, Ausberg - Private family services for Ausburg (sic) Einarson, 77, who was the caretaker of the Cornwall Park Rose Garden for 12 years, will be Friday at the Westford Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Einarson, 663 Sterling Drive, was born April 28, 1910, in Blaine and lived in Whatcom County all of his life. He was a 1930 graduate of the old Fairhaven High School, where he received letters in basketball and football, and was a member of Fairhaven's 1929 state championship football team. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was decorated for his service. He was a member of the Eagles, the American Legion, Faith Lutheran Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Bellingham Senior Citizens. He was also a Boy Scout leader. Survivors include his wife, Ellen; two sons, Lance Knowles of Ferndale and Brett L. Einarson of Santa Monica,Calif.; one daughter, Ann Lynn Sloan of Bellingham; four sisters, Sigrud Laxdel of Bellingham, Iona Jones and Thora Bennett of Seattle and Lafhey Stockfleth of Mercer Island; a brother, Einar Einarson of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

EINARSON, Einar, age 82, passed away at 1817 Knox Avenue Thursday, December 26, (1946). Mr. Einarson had been a resident of this community for the past few years and for many years had lived in Blaine. He was a member of the Blaine Icelandic Lutheran Church and leaves to survive two sisters, Mrs. Haldora Smith of Brandon, Man., Canada, and Mrs. Mary McCallum, of Cypress River, Man., Canada.

EINARSON, Einar M., age 82, of 1440 Humboldt, passed away at a local hospital Wednesday, June 6, (1951) following a lingering illness. Mr. Einarson had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 36 years and was a retired sea captain. He was a graduate of the School of Navigation at Reykjavik, Iceland, and a member of the Icelandic Literary Society (Kaari). EINERWOLD, Arthur Severin, age 82, of 3603 Aldergrove, Ferndale, passed away in Ferndale Tuesday, January 14, 1986. He was born Nov. 27, 1903 in Spencer, South Dakota. He was a farmer and truck driver, and also worked for Consolidated Freight. He was a Ferndale resident for the last 30 years and since his retirement had been an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the family home; one son, Marvin and wife, Ruth of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Helen and husband Lee Trott of Bellingham; five sisters, Jennie Schnee of Carthage, S. Dakota, Irene Lass of Howard, S. Dakota, Margaret Hagle of Pine City, Minn., Gladys Nelson of Aitken, Minn., Selma Thompson of Anacortes, WA; two brothers, James of Howard, S. Dakota and William of Eagle Bend, Minn.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren. EISENMANN, Augusta, who resided at 101 Crescent Place passed away at her residence Monday, January 2, (1961) following an extended illness. Miss Eisenmann was a retired teacher; a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan, Wyo.; a member of the P.E.O., A.A.U.W., Bellingham Women's Music Club, League of Women Voters, Women's Republican Club, P.L.F. and the 20th Century Club. EISELE, Charles, 83, of Blaine, passed away in a local hospital Monday, October 3, (1966). A resident of Blaine since 1913, he was a machinist and gunsmith. There are no known relatives. EISFELDT, Jeffery K., 46, died Wednesday, June 17, 1992, at the Mount Baker Care Center in Bellingham. Born April 17, 1946, in Yakima to Gordon and Imogene Eisfeldt, Mr. Eisfeldt moved to Sedro-Woolley in 1983, where he worked as a heating and air conditioning technician with Ronk Brothers. In 1990, he moved to Bellingham and was employed with Rite Weld Heating and Air Conditioning. He is survived by his father, Gordon Eisfeldt, of Burlington; a brother, Gregory Eisfeldt, of Caldwell, Idaho; three sisters, Julie Anne Hutton, of Redmond, Christine Brown, of Kennewick and Mary Howell, of Kirkland; 9 nieces and nephews; one grandniece and one grandnephew. EISSES, John K., 24, 1193 Willeys Lake Rd., died Friday (Sept. 26, 1975) of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to a coronor's report. A native of Holland, Mr. Eisses moved to Lynden with his parents in 1959. He was a 1969 graduate of Lynden High School and attended Western Washington State College for three years and was a member of the Canadian Reformed Church in Abbotsford, B.C. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reinder Eisses; three brothers, Jacob, Hank and Reiner, and a sister, Evelyn, all at home; a grandmother, Mrs. Jacob Heerma of Holland; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. EISSES, Reinder - Visitation of Reinder Eisses of Lynden will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Gillies Funeral Home. A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the American Reformed Church in Everson, with interment following in Monumenta Cemetery. Mr. Eisses, 74, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at his Lynden home. He was born on April 16, 1923, in Vries, Holland, to Jan and Henderkien (Hoeksema) Eisses. He married Hilda Heerema on May 11, 1949, in Holland, and the couple moved to Whatcom County 10 years later. Mr. Eisses operated a dairy farm on the Willeys Lake Road for 15 years, then worked for Mount Baker Plywood for six years. He was a member of the American Reformed Church, and he enjoyed traveling. Mr. Eisses is survived by his wife; daughter Evelyn Eisses of Lynden; sons Jacob Eisses and Reinier Eisses, both of Kendall, and Han Eisses of Sumas; sister Zwaantje Jensen of Holland; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives. Two sons, Albert and John, preceded him in Death, as did two sisters and two brothers.

EIVERS, Patrick Ross of Glacier died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, at Sehome Park Care Center. He was 41. Private family services will be held. He was born April 7, 1955, to Edward Eivers Jr. and Ann Frye Eivers in Portland, Ore. He attended school in Portland and moved to California, where he worked in auto sales. Mr. Eivers moved to Glacier five years ago to be near family members. He enjoyed sailing and water sports. Survivors include his mother, Ann Farrington of Tempe, Ariz.; his father of Albany, Ore; sisters Shannon Eivers of Hilo, Hawaii, Kelly Cowles of Maple Falls, Regan Eivers of Glacier and Tara Eivers of Tempe; half brother Edward Eivers III of Portland; two nieces and two nephews. EKDAHL, Edwin, age 70 years, who was a harness maker and shoe repair man of Ferndale for the past 40 years, passed away at his home Saturday morning, July 7, (1945). He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lilias Thompson of Ferndale, Mrs. Mildred Holmwood of Santa Monica, Calif., two sons, Harlan of Ferndale and Vern of Bellingham; one sister, Mrs. V. H. Volland of Ferndale, two brothers, Joseph of Los Angeles, Thomas of Moline, Illinois, also 2 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Monroe's chapel at Ferndale, Tuesday afternoon, July 10 at 1:30. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Henry Cross. Interment in Woodlawn cemetery.

EKDAHL, Harlan M., age 67, of 1020 School Street, Ferndale, passed away Jan. 16, (1976). Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Moles Funeral Home with Rev. David Nelson officiating. A lifetime resident of Ferndale, Mr. Ekdahl was a retired custodian at Ferndale High School and a retired Ferndale Volunteer Fireman. He is survived by two sisters, Lilias Thompson of Ferndale, Mildred Holmwell of Santa Monica, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Ruth Ekdahl of Bellingham; several nieces and nephews including Gary Thompson of Ferndale. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

EKDAHL, Vern - Funeral services were held this afternoon in Jones Funeral Home for Vern Ekdahl, 68, of Bellingham. He passed away at home on Sunday (Sept. 19, 1971). Mr. Ekdahl had been a 66 year resident of the county. He was president of Ekdahl and Gregor and was a member of the Kulshan Kiwanis Club and the United Church of Ferndale. He is survived by the wife, Ruth; one son, Robert V. of Bellingham; a brother, Harlan of Ferndale; two sisters, Mrs. Lilias Thompson of Ferndale and Mrs. Mildred Holmwood of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and one grandson. Interment was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

EKE, Robert L., age 46,of 2634 E. Crestline, passed away Sunday, May 30, (1976). Mr. Eke had resided in Bellingham for the past 19 years and was employed in the Bleach Plant of Georgia Pacific, was a veteran of the Korean War, member of Association of Pulp Paper Workers Union. He leaves to survive his wife, Elaine Eke of the family home; 2 sons, Robert D., Terence both of the family home; 3 daughters, Mrs. Laurene Toler of City, Roxanne Eke of Granit City, Ill.,and Constance Eke of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Eke of Santa Cruz, Calif.; 2 brothers, William of Alaska and John of Fairfield, Conn.; 1 sister, Mrs. Nancy Dempsey of Santa Cruz, Calif. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. Interment Greenacres.

EKHOLM, Maria M., age 86, of 290 Briar Rd., Bellingham, passed away at St. Frances Extended Healthcare on July 5, 1991. She was born June 15, 1905 in Sundsval, Sweden. She graduated from high school in Sundsval, Sweden and later married Erik T. Ekholm in Bellingham. Erik Ekholm was formerly a vice president of Georgia Pacific Corp, president of Ketchikan Pulp Co. and president of Pacific Coast Technical Assoc. Pulp & Paper Industry. He passed away March 12, 1986. Maria's hobbies included golfing & gardening and was a member of the Bellingham Golf & Country Club, Yacht Club and Faith Lutheran Church. She is survived by a son, Howard & Ruth Ekholm of Allenhurst, New Jersey; 2 grandchildren, J. Erik Ekholm of Allenhurst, New Jersey and Kelly & Frederick Wynne II, New York, New York. Graveside services will be held on Mon. July 8, 2:30 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park. Officiating will be the Rev. R. L. Christensen. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

EKIMOVICH, John Daniel - A memorial service for John Daniel Ekimovich of Bellingham will be at 11 a.m. May 8 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church. Mr. Ekimovich died Monday, April 26, 1999, in Bellingham. He was 77. Born Aug. 22, 1921, in Chicago, he first came to Bellingham in 1943 while serving in the U.S. Navy and moved here after the war. In the 1950s, he worked in Skagit Steel and Iron Works' foundry as a machinist and retired as a plant manager in 1983. Mr. Ekimovich enjoyed working in his yard, hunting for agates in Washington and Oregon and making wooden toys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma. Survivors include daughter Tanya; adopted son and and daughter Thuan Dao and Minh Dao, both of Bellingham; sisters Mildred Gritz of Orland Park, Ill., Anne Sarpolis of Tinley Park, Ill, Marie Kay of Oak Lawn, Ill, and Antoinette Zagata of Palos Heights, Ill; and other relatives. Arrangements are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.

EKIMOVICH, Wilma Marie - Visitation for Willma Marie Ekimovich of 1247 Kenoyer Drive will be from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Moles Funeral Home. Mrs. Ekimovich died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 79. Born Feb. 27, 1916, in Bellingham, she was known for her sense of humor, kindness, generosity and her smile. She was devoted to helping people in need and received great joy from her large extended family. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John D. Ekimovich, of Chicago; daughter Tanya M. Ekimovich of Bellingham; adopted son Thuan Dao and adopted daughter Minh Dao, both of Bellingham; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

EKLUND, Ella A., of 316 1/2 Commercial St., passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, November 17, (1964). Miss Eklund had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 73 years. She retired five years ago after working 35 years for the city and county school boards. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, the Business & Professional Women's Club, Friends of the Library, Women's Music Club. She leaves to survive 1 sister, Miss Viola Eklund of the home; 2 nieces, Mrs. Maxine Stone of Seattle; Mrs. Denton Hatfield, city, many great-nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 19 at 11 a.m. within the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Pastor E. E. Olsenius officiating. Interment Bayview cemetery.

EKMAN, Liane H., 48, of 9500 Axlund Rd., Lynden, died Sunday (Sept. 23, 1990). She was born Feb. 5, 1942 in Insterburg, Germany, and lived in Lynden for 30 years. Mrs. Ekman was office manager for her husband, Roger. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Lynden, the Volunteer Optimetric Services of Humanity, and the auxiliary of Washington Optimetric Association. She is survived by her husband of the family home; by sons Christoph Schlebel of Squamish, Wash., and Darren Ekman of Lynden; by her parents, Willi and Herta Krueger of Germany; and by her brother, Siegfried Kreuger of Germany. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church of Lynden with Pastor Fred Rarden officiating.

EKNES, Christopher Cane, age 3 months, of 416 Sudden Valley, Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 1991. Born October 29, 1990 in Everett, he is survived by his parents, Judith A. Edwards and Egil Eknes of Bellingham, two brothers: Brandon and Michael, sister: Brandy, all of the family home. Grandparents: Norman and Lilly Eknes of Seattle, M. A. EKSTRAN, Herbert V., age 78 of Bow, Skagit County died Thur. Dec. 21, 1978, at his home following a brief illness, he was born July 17, 1900 in Stanwood. His marriage to Arlene Perry took place July 18, 1938 in Sunnyside. Mr. Ekstran was a Dairy Farmer, and a member of the Northwest Guernsey Assoc. & The Washington State Guernsey club. He was also a Member of the Allen-Blanchard United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Arlene at home, 1 daughter Mrs. Martin (Diane) Lind of Bow, 1 son Garner Ekstran, Bow, 3 sisters, Hazel Nobles, Anacortes, Linea Ekstran, & Edna Trowbridge, both of Bow, 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sat. Dec. 23 at the Allen United Methodist Church, at Bow. With Pastor Miles Jackson officiating. Cremation was held with inurnment to be in the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home in Burlington.

EKSTROM, Lillian, age 58, of 1690 Patterson Street, Eugene, Ore., passed away in that city Wednesday, December 12, (1951). Mrs. Ekstrom had resided there for the past eight years and was a member of the Congregational Church in Eugene. Surviving relatives are one son, James R., at home; four sisters, Mrs. William H. Lewis, Mrs. Lester Flake and Mrs. Jack Burns, all of Bellingham, and Mrs. Jack Statz of Seattle. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. W. Carl Calhoun Monday, December 17, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place, Woodlawn.
