EVANGER, John Peter, age 75, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Voris B. Richter, 2627 Nevada Street on Thursday, May 16, (1963). Mr. Evanger had resided in Steilacoom twenty-two years, where he was a self-employed gardener, prior to moving to this city eighteen years ago. Since that time he had made his home with his daughter Mrs. Voris B. Richter, and attended the First Baptist Church. Survivors are one son, Harold Evanger, Woodbridge, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. Sterling Brand, Ferndale; Mrs. John Bell, Tacoma; Mrs. Harry Lange, Oakland, Cal., and Mrs. Voris B. Richter of this city; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Gudmund Evanger, Tacoma; Andrew Evanger of Camas; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Crain, Port Angeles; Mrs. Art Repman, Camas; Mrs. Edward Evanson of Walford, N. D., and nieces and nephews. The remains will be forwarded by the Jones Funeral Home to the Piper Funeral Home in South Tacoma, where services will be conducted by Rev. James B. Hughes Monday, May 20 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Steilacoom Old Masonic Cemetery.

EVANISEVICH, John, age 65 years, of San Pedro, Calif., passed away at a local hospital Monday, Sept. 14th, (1953) following a short illness. Mr. Evanisevich was a member of the Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church of San Pedro, and the Fisherman's Union. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evanisevich; two sons, Johnnie and Jimmie; two daughters, Jeanette and Helen, all at home; one brother Steve, in San Pedro. The remains are being forwarded to the McNerney's Mortuary, in San Pedro, under direction of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home.

EVANS, Anne B. - A Memorial Service for Anne B. Evans will be held Monday, July 21, at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Ladner, B.C. Anne died of an accidental drowning in Ontario on July 5, 1997. Anne was born on May 22, 1948 in Ladner, B.C. and had been a resident of Whatcom County since her marriage in 1984. Anne was a beloved wife and mother, a Master Gardener with a passion for growing flowers, and a person who made friends wherever she traveled. Professionally, she was a flight attendant with Air Canada for 27 years and more recently a landscaper. Survivors include her husband Brian, daughter Brianna, son Daniel, mother Catherine, brother Paul, sister Brenda and many other family members.

EVANS, Anna Bry, 87, 1721 Fern St., Blaine, died Wednesday, (Aug. 24, 1983). She was born Nov. 4, 1895, in Germany and came to the United States at age 9. She has been a local resident for 58 years. She is survived by three sons, (Donald O. Evans, Lee Eugene Evans, Robert A. Evans), eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Blaine Cemetery with Rev. Jack Buckalen officiating. Arrangements are by Jerns-McKinney Funeral Chapel, Blaine.

EVANS, Bessie G., age 86, of 784 H St., Blaine, passed away Tues. Oct. 4, (1988) in a local nursing home. She was a resident of Whatcom County for 1 year, living previously in Texas. Survived by a niece, Betty Nunamker, Blaine; 2 nephews, Michael Sides of Alamogordo, New Mexico & David Sides of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Funeral services will be conducted Fri. Oct. 7 in Dallas, TX. EVANS, Chad Edward - Funeral service for Chad Edward Evans, age 16, of 1078 Cedar Hills Ave., will be Thursday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. in the Church of the Assumption with Father John C. He was the beloved son of Vicki & Richard Veach, Linda & Gage Evans; also survived by his loving sister, Staci & Michelle, Jeffrey & Colin; maternal grandparents, Dr. & Mrs. LeRoy Freeman; great grandmother, Sally I. Prichard; paternal grandparents, Bill & Mary Evans; great grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Vaughn Evans, all of City; aunt Jeri Rojek of Chicago, Illinois; uncles, Mr. & Mrs. Martin Freeman, Mr. & Mrs. LeRoy H. Freeman, all of City; numerous other relatives & loving friends. He was a lifetime Bellingham resident. Chad was our joyful, loving child, who avidly participated in athletic events. He loved baseball, basketball, fishing, hunting & motorcycle riding. Chad attended Silver Beach & Lowell grade schools, Whatcom Middle School & Sehome High School. He began his baseball playing as a Pee Wee Leaguer with Bellingham Parks & Recreation Dept. He attended baseball camps at the University of Oregon. He joined the local fishing fleet as a gillnetter on the "Nikki" with his uncle Lee in 1981. This season he joined his uncle Marty to enjoy purse seining on the "Providence." Everyone whose life was touched by Chad will benefit by his celebration of life.

EVANS, Charles, age 52 of Bellingham, passed away suddenly in an auto accident July 28, 2001. He was born March 10, 1949 in Hood River, OR to Merle E. and Nora G. (Woodward) Evans. Charles attended Oregon College of Education in Monmouth, OR for 3 years. He moved to Bellingham in 1985. Charles was a supervisor for Turftenders. He enjoyed bowling and was active in the local leagues. Survived by his brother, Robert E. Evans of Bellingham, a sister, Sue Ellen Sass of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment for Mr. Evans will be in Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to: Westford Funeral Home.

EVANS, Charles Clayton, age 75 of Blaine, passed away at his home Saturday, December 24, (1960). Mr. Evans was born at Blaine September 12, 1885 and had lived there his entire lifetime. Surviving are his wife Madge; 2 sons, Alfred of Seattle and Norman of Fort Langley, B. C.; one daughter, Mrs. John Hurd of Langley, B. C.; one brother, Robert H. Evans of Seattle; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Fishbourne of Bellingham; also 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the McKinney Funeral Home, in Blaine, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m., Mr. Charles Harris, officiating. Burial to follow in [Hanie Cemetery].

EVANS, Clarence P., 77, of South Dakota, died in Bellingham on Tuesday (April 1, 1986). Burial and services will be in South Dakota; local arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

EVANS, Denise I. died of complications of multiple sclerosis Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at Stafholt Good Samaritan Center in Blaine. She was 42. A private service will be held. Born Dec. 9, 1956, to Jack and Bernice Evans in Powell River, B.C., she married David Cutbirth on Dec. 16, 1985 in Bellingham. Ms. Evans graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in art history and worked as a receptionist for former state Sen. Ann Anderson and as a hot line operator in the Legislature. A member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, she enjoyed making costumes, camping and sewing. Survivors include her husband, of Lynden her parents of Delta, B.C. and brother Michael Evans of White Rock, B.C. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

EVANS, Douglas S. - Services for Douglas S. Evans, 54, 433 16th St., who died Saturday, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Faith Lutheran Church. Rev. E. E. Olsenius will preside. Evans was a resident of Bellingham for 24 years and was co-owner of the Silver Beach Market. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Washington Grocer's Association, and Bellingham Lodge No. 194 of the Elks. Evans is survived by his widow, Irene; two sons, Ronald, at home, and Dennis, who is serving aboard the Navy aircraft carrier USS Kittyhawk; and his mother, Mrs. Minnie Evans, Bellingham. Burial at Greenacres Memorial Park will follow funeral services under the direction of Jones Funeral Home.

EVANS, Esther Jennie, age 50, of 433 16th St., passed away in a local hospital, Wednesday, Jan. 25, (1961). A resident of Bellingham for the past 29 years, Mrs. Evans was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. Survivors are her husband, Douglas S., at home; two sons, Ronald and Dennis, both of Bellingham; mother, Mrs. Dollie Cornish, of Lemon, S. D.; one sister, Mrs. Leo Snyder, of Rapid City, S. D.; two brothers, Roland Cornish, of Great Falls, Mont., and Bernard Cornish, of Boise, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted at the Faith Lutheran Church by Pastor E. E. Olsenius, Monday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. under direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Final resting place Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.

EVANS, Esther M., 90, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday (April 2, 1987) at a Bellingham nursing home. She was born Nov. 15, 1896, in DeMores, N. D., and moved to Skagit County from Billings, Mont., in 1982. Survivors include two daughters, Miriam Price of Kent and Ramona Douglass of Mount Vernon; and three grandchildren. A daughter, Joan M. Brown, died in November 1985. Funeral services will be Monday at Beal's Mortuary in Forsyth, Mont., with burial there. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

EVANS, Ethel Mae – A memorial service for Ethel May (Ault) Evans of Bellingham will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Bellingham, with Gene Stevens officiating. Mrs. Evans died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000 at her home. She was 91. Born Dec 4, 1908 to Perry and Lela (Smith) Ault in Colorado, she had been a Whatcom County resident for 40 years. She married Walter W. Evans in Colorado. He died in 1985. Mrs. Evans was a Jehovah's Witness for more than 40 years. She enjoyed reading. Survivors include son Doug Evans of Bellingham, daughters Loretta Rieken of Bellingham and Jan Soderland of Forks, sister Lucy Law of Colorado and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Whatcom Cremation Association.

EVANS, Fred John, ge 53, of RFD No. 2, Everson, passed away in a local hospital, Sunday, July 27, (1958). Mr. Evans had been a life resident of this community and for many years had operated a tavern at Nugents Corner. Surviving relatives are his widow, Ada, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Stevens of Issaquah; three grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Bjarnson and Mrs. Nina Bailey, both of Bellingham; one brother, Wade of Bellingham and many nieces and nephews. The remains rest at the Hones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by the Rev. Calvin Moore, Wednesday, July 30, at 1 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

EVANS, Irene Evelyn, 17-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Evans, Blaine, Wash., passed away at a Bellingham hospital, Wednesday, March 20, (1946) after an illness of ten days. Beside the parents, two grandmothers survive - Mrs. Mary Evans, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Justina Kleckner, of Blaine. The remains are resting at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Monday, March 25, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Roy Leslie Smith. Interment in Saxon cemetery.

EVANS, Jacqueline H., age 37, of 2129 Poplar Dr., Ferndale, passed away Fri., June 13, (1986). She is survived by her husband, Oris J. Evans; son Byron Lee; daughter Laurie Tripp, daughter, Glenda Evans, daughter, Jennifer Evans; grandson, Zachary Tripp; mother, Helen Lee; & lifelong friend, Billie Luchi. All of Ferndale. EVANS, Lillian May, age 72, of 520 E. North Street, passed away in a local hospital Friday, April 4, (1952). Mrs. Evans had resided in Whatcom county since 1902 and had made her home in Bellingham since 1926. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She leaves to survive, two sons, Fred J., and Wade L. Evans, both of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Bjarnson and Mrs. Nina Bailey, both of this city; seven grandsons, and one granddaughter; three great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Carl Hoffman, in Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Stark and Mrs. Eva Selken, both of Perry, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews. EVANS, Mabel M., age 95, of 3121 Squalicum Parkway passed away Wednesday, August 28, (1991). She was a life time resident of Bellingham. She was a member of The Assumption Catholic Church, 50 year member of C.D.A. She was a member of the Bellingham Woman's Musical Club & St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary. She was a retired school teacher having taught in the Bellingham School District for 42 years. She leaves to survive a sister, Hazel E. Evans; 1 nephew, Bill Evans; 1 niece Maxine Sircovich; all of Bellingham. EVANS, Margaret C. Evans - Funeral services for Bellingham resident Margaret C. Evans will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Bayview Cemetery. Mrs. Evans died at her home Sept. 19, (1990) at the age of 65. She was born Margaret C. Michael in South Bend, Wash., on Aug. 22, 1925. Her husband, Arthur C. Evans, died in 1970. Mrs. Evans worked as office supervisor at the Bellingham branch of the state Employment Security Department. A member of Unity Church, she sat on the citizens' advisory committee of Whatcom Transportation Authority and was a past YWCA board member. Survivors include a son Michael C. Fildes of Seattle; a grandson; and a sister, Jean Michael of Palm Desert, Calif.

EVANS, Mary C., age 86 of 214 N. Commercial St., passed away Tues. Aug. 27, (1975), a life time resident of Bellingham, a member of the Spiritual Church and the Pythian Sisters, Daughters of America, Order of Vassa and a life member of the Order of Moose. Funeral services Friday Aug. 29 at 10:30 a.m. within the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. Interment Woodlawn.

EVANS, Mary W., 98, of 5280 Northwest Road died Thursday (Dec. 15, 1988) in a Bellingham nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Moles Funeral Home.

EVANS, Maye F., of Bellingham died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1994, at Bayside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bellingham. She was 105. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenacres Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the mausoleum at Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. Tom Randall officiating. Born Sept. 18, 1889, to Charles and Lucinda Alfred Foster in Van Buren, Ark., she moved west with her family in a covered wagon and grew up in New Mexico. She enjoyed sewing and tending her rose garden. Survivors include daughter Julia Bracht of Bellingham, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

EVANS, Monty M., age 67, formerly of 1505 G. St., passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, (1976). A resident of this community for the past 31 years, Mr. Evans was a member of the Carpenters & Jointers Union Local No. 756. Surviving sisters, Mrs. Stella Bump, Monroe and Mrs. Myra Pressley, Cloverdale, B. C., numerous nieces and nephews. At his request no services were held. Arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

EVANS, Nora Jean, age 70, 63 Sudden Valley passed away Wed. Sept. 11, (1985). Mrs. Evans had resided in Whatcom County for the past 6 months and was a former longtime resident of Cascade Locks, Oregon. She leaves to survive 3 sons, Charles V., Robert E., & Merle A. Evans all of City; a daughter, Sue Ellen Sass of Morinville, Alberta; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Wed. Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. at Cascade Locks Cemetery in Cascade Locks, Oregon, under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home.

EVANS, Olive Louise, 72, of 2459 S. Bakerview Park Dr., Ferndale passed away at home Dec. 1, 1988. She was born Sept. 8, 1916 in London, England & was a Ferndale resident for 21 years, prior to that she lived in England. Survivors include her husband, Fred Evans of the family home; daughters, Victoria Harris & husband, David of Issaquah, WA, Carole Partrick of England; Jacqueline Orchard & husband, Richard of Ferndale; son, Victor Evans & wife Carol of Lynnwood; 9 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Lilly Bennett & husband, Roy; Jeanette O'Rielly & husband William; Pamela Mitchell all of England. EVANS, Phil, Dr., passed away in Springfield, Penn. He leaves to survive his wife, Gloria Carey Evans. 1 daughter. Mother-in-law Louise Carey both former residents of B'ham.

EVANS, Robert E. - A funeral service for former construction worker Robert W. Evans, 73, will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Blaine Chapel. Mr. Evans, 6955 Holeman Ave., Blaine, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born June 16, 1916 in Grand Rapids, Mich. He moved to Whatcom County seven years ago. Mr. Evans was a member of American Legion Post No. 86 in Blaine and the Masonic Lodge No. 22 in Butte, Mont. He is survived by his wife, Liane, of the family home; sons David and Michael Evans of Butte, Mont.; sister Gladys Moll of Casper, Wyo.; two granddaughters, four step-sons; one step-daughter; and numerous other relatives. Rev. Don Walters will officiate at the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Jern & LeVeck Funeral Chapel.

EVANS, Roy S., age 42, of 1052 E. Thomas St., Seattle, passed away suddenly at the family home Sunday, May 9, (1954). He had been a resident of Seattle for the past four years and had formerly resided in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Waddington; one grandson, all of Bellingham; two brothers, Aaron of Seattle, William of Bothell; two sisters, Mrs. May Wriggle and Mrs. Jack R. Thomas, both of Seattle. Private services will be conducted Wednesday, May 12, at 1:30 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Rev. Father W. Robert Webb, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment, Bay View Cemetery.

EVANS, Ruben Edgar - A memorial service for Ruben Edgar Evans will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Park. Mr. Evans, 73, of Sedro-Woolley died Tuesday, May 24, 1994, at a Mount Vernon nursing home. Born April 2, 1921, to Henry and Lena Evans in Tokio, N. D., he was raised and educated in Sherman, S. D. He joined the U. S. Army in 1945 and was discharged in 1946. He married Astrid Hammer in Colemans, S. D., on Nov. 26, 1944. Mr. Evans worked in banking in Garritson, S. D. for several years and moved to Whatcom County in 1957. He worked for Peter Pan Seafoods in Alaska and retired as a plant superintendent in 1985. After his retirement he moved to Sedro-Woolley. Mr. Evans was a member of Palisades Masons Lodge No. 201 and of American Legion Post No. 23. Survivors include his wife of the family home; son Dan Evans of Spokane; daughters Susan Pecore of Fort Myers, Fla., and Gail Amos of Woodinville; brothers Tony Evans of Lynden, Stanley Evans of Seven Bays, Leon Evans of Garritson, S. D., and Maurice Evans of Yankton, S. D.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

EVANS, Ruth E., age 85 of Burlington, died Mon. April 7, 1980 in a Burlington nursing home. She was born Sept. 4, 1894 in Helena, Montana, her marriage to Herbert (Hub) Evans took place June 6, 1921 in Bellingham. Mrs. Evans had made her home in Burlington since 1925. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Sedro Woolley, and Holly Chapter No. 199 Order of Eastern Star, Burlington. Surviving are 1 daughter Mrs. Wilfred (Barbara) Dow, Burlington; 2 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services were held Wed. April 9, 1:30 at Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington. Interment Burlington Cemetery.

EVANS, Sandra Lee, age 17 years, of 2523 H. St., passed away in a local hospital Friday, Sept. 7, (1962). Miss Evans was born in Fairbanks, Alaska where she resided until two years ago, and was a student at Bellingham High School, and a member of the Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville L. Evans a home; one brother, Robert O. Evans of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Bette Ann Anderson of Bellingham; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett D. Evans of Pine River, Minn., and Mrs. Anna Knutson of Pequot Lakes, Minn., also many aunts, uncles and cousins. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Pastor Obed L. G. Vold Monday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m. Cremation.

EVANS, Sarah Catherine, age 92, who for the past four years, had been residing with her friends, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Holiday, of 900 Maple Street, passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Feb. 17, (1951). Miss Evans leaves to survive one niece, Mrs. V. H. Lewis of Sommerton, Ariz., and two cousins in Seattle. Private services were conducted at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth by the Rev. Harold E. Penhalurick Monday, Feb. 19, at 4:30 p.m. Cremation.

EVANS, Shirley Boome, age 31 of Sedro Woolley died there Sunday, Dec. 13th, (1987). Born in Bellingham 1956, the daughter of Raymond & Frances Boome. A lifetime Skagit County resident. EVANS, Wallace B., Jr. of Lynden, Washington passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham. Known to his friends and family as 'Wally,' he was born in Glendale, CA on July 21st, 1924 to Doris and Wallace B. Evans. As a young boy, he traveled extensively with his parents and lived all over the United States, as well as France and Haiti. After suffering the loss of his father in an airplane accident in Jeremie, Haiti, Wally settled in the Tacoma area where he graduated from Stadium High School. He studied civil engineering at the University of Washington until he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in October of 1942. Wally qualified as a fighter pilot on the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. Prior to his assignment overseas, he married Lois Ann Schille of Seattle. Wally was assigned to the 71st Fighter Squadron flying P-38's from his base in Foggia, Italy. He flew 22 missions over Europe before the war ended.

After the war's end, Wally returned to the University of Washington to complete his studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1949. Wally worked as a Civil Engineer on Chief Joseph and Rocky Reach Dams on the Columbia River and Mayfield Dam, near Mossy Rock, WA. His career then took him and his family to Northern California where he worked on various water diversion projects in Oroville and Auburn, California. His experience in the hydroelectric field prepared him for various positions as an engineering estimator, responsible for preparing multimillion dollar bids on heavy construction projects all over the world. Wally took his family along with him on overseas construction projects in Venezuela, Thailand, Western Australia and Puerto Rico. Wally retired from the heavy construction business in 1986 and settled with his wife on South Whidbey Island where he lived until moving to Lynden in 2001.

Wally enjoyed golf, jazz music, politics and was a walking encyclopedia, always hungry to learn more about the world he lived in. He loved doing a good crossword puzzle every morning. Wally had a great sense of humor and was a very generous and giving person. He will be greatly missed. Wally is survived by his daughters, Denise (Dean) and Nancy, his sons, Chris (Colleen) and Bryant, grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Maryn, brother-in-law Tom, sisters-in-law, Jan and Mary Ann and the Schille nieces and nephews, Eric, Becky, Patty, Michael, Beth and Sarah. A graveside ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22nd at Greenacres Moles Cemetery in Ferndale, WA. A family memorial will be held in the second week of December on Whidbey Island, WA.

EVANS, Walter W., 82, 1400 12th St., died Sunday at St. Luke's General Hospital. He was born July 7, 1903, in Othello, and had been a Whatcom County resident for 22 years. Mr. Evans married Ethel Ault on Sept. 2, 1928, in Florence, Colo. He was associated with the Jehovah Witnesses North Congregation Kingdom Hall. Survivors include his wife, Ethel; two sons, including Oris G. Evans of Ferndale; four daughters, including Loretta Rieken of Ferndale; 29 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. EVANS, William Kelley Jr. - Bellingham resident William Kelley Evans Jr. died Friday, Nov. 13, 1992, in Bellingham. He was 83. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma. He was born July 29, 1909 to William and Elizabeth Evans in Roosevelt, La. He moved to Bellingham in 1954. He worked in oil refineries in Ferndale and Anacortes. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ethel Evans, in 1985. Survivors include daughter Marilynn E. EVATT, Mote J., age 56 years, of 2311 Jeager St., passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, August 21, (1956). EVELAND, Wayne I., 68, 3500 S. Tomahawk, Apache Junction, AZ, passed away August 21, 1992 in Bellingham. He was born March 21, 1924 in Balsam Lake, WI, to Arthur and Leona Eveland. He lived in Bellingham from 1958 to 1964; had been a park ranger for 30 years for State Parks and Recreation including six years at Larrabee State Park and District Supervisor for San Juan; and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. Wayne was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. Survivors are his wife, Elsie of AR(sic); two daughters, Ida Richards of Bellingham and Lynn Pederson of Ephrata, WA; son, Terry Gardner of Tucson, AZ; brother Allen Eveland of Oregon; four sisters, Melba Wilsox of Olympia, WA, Marion Lamponen of Longview, WA, Naomi Camden of OR and Eugenia White of IL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. EVERETT, Aileen, 82, was born in Bellingham to Henry and Mary Aason Everett on May 13, 1909. She died April 21, 1992 at home in Homosassa Springs, Florida. She is survived by two brothers, John Everett and wife Dawn of Bellingham, and Lee Everett and wife Arlene of Sedro Woolley; 1 sister, Beryl Brummel of Bellingham; dear friend and companion Margaret Belcher of Florida, who has been a loving, generous sister to all of Aileen's family; and three generations of nieces and nephews. Aileen worked thirty years as bookkeeper and payroll officer for the Bellingham School District. She was also the first manager and bookkeeper of the Teachers Credit Union. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bellingham for forty years, serving in the youth organization, as a Sunday School teacher, department leader, and youth director. After retiring from the Bellingham School District, Aileen moved to Florida, where she joined the Methodist Church and was active there until her death. She was preceded in death by two sisters. EVERETT, Alfred P., age 87, of Bellingham, died Mar. 10, 1989 in a local nursing home. He was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM in Massachusetts & member of the Fleet Reserve in Bremerton, WA. He is also a member of the Baptist Church. EVERETT, Belle Hicks, age 64, of Seattle, passed away at a Seattle hospital Wednesday, May 21st, (1952). Mrs. Everett had been a resident of Seattle for the past thirty years, but formerly lived in Pleasant Valley. She was the daughter of the late Lyle Hicks. EVERETT, Dawn Irene Speirs, of Bellingham, WA passed away Sunday Dec. 30, 2001 in Bellingham. She was born in Bellingham on November 25, 1914 to William and Christa Speirs. She married John Thomas Everett on September 2, 1933. When her youngest son started school, Dawn returned to college, graduating magna cum laude from Western Washington State College in 1961. She graduated from Western the same week her two oldest sons graduated from college. She also earned a master's degree. Dawn taught English at Meridian High School for 13 years. She was active in the First Baptist Church, and loved hiking, biking, gardening, and her grandchildren. Dawn was preceded in death by her son Mark and is survived by John, her husband of 68 years; son Paul of Shelton, wife Joelle, grandsons Aaron, Hugh, John, and David; son Joel of Olympia, wife Wendy, granddaughters Rebecca and Allison; son Jonathan of Boston, wife Mary, granddaughters Claudia and Isabel; great-grandchildren Benjamin, Mark, Kara, William and Max. EVERETT, Edwin, age 63, passed away at the family home, 2110 Ellis, Friday, January 10, (1947). Mr. Everett had been a resident of this community for the past forty-one years and was a carpenter by trade. EVERETT, John Thomas, was born on November 19, 1911, in Custer, Washington, to parents Henry and Mary Everett. He lived all of his 93 years in Whatcom County [died Apr. 2, 2005]. In 1933, he married Dawn Speirs, his wife and best friend for 67 years. Together they raised four sons. John graduated from Whatcom High School, and worked at many different jobs. He enjoyed most his work at Bell Boy, where "together we all learned to make fiberglass boats." His free time was devoted to his family, his church, his friends, and hiking around Mt. Baker. He always had a wonderful garden, and he loved working in his woodshop. Many local families have wooden kitchen utensils, which he made, using his several machines as well as hand-shaping, each year for the church bazaars. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as head Deacon and taught Sunday School, as well as helping in the building of the new church. After moving to assisted living, he organized Bible study groups for residents there. John and Dawn spent much time getting to know their grandchildren, taking them on hikes and extended car trips to our great national parks. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Belvidere, Aileen, Beryl and Hazel; his wife Dawn; and son Mark. Survivors include his brother Lee; sons: Paul, Joel and Jonathan; grandchildren: Aaron, Hugh, John, David, Allison, Rebecca, Claudia, and Isabel, and their spouses; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. EVERETT, Norman F., age 91 of Ferndale, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2006. He was born on June 3, 1915 in New Westminster, B.C. to William and Mabel (Simmonds) Everett. Norman practiced medicine in Ferndale for 36 years, delivering many of Ferndale's babies. During that time, he also served briefly as the Chief of Staff at St. Luke's Hospital in Bellingham. Norman was a gentle man, who loved nature and enjoyed spending time tending his huge garden. He was preceded in death by his son, Leland; and his sisters, Grace, Myrtle and Marjorie. Norman is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Peggy (Shawn) and Sandra; and numerous nieces and nephews. EVERETT, Stella S., age 74, of Route 3, Lynden passed away at her home Saturday, August 31, (1963) following an extended illness. She had been a resident of Lynden for the past 2 years and had served as Missionary for the Methodist Church in the Belgium Congo for 35 years. EVERHART, Joe Ray, 74, a Bellingham resident for 49 years, has passed away (1973). He lived at 2734 Birchwood Avenue. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Whatcom Masonic Lodge 151 F&AM Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a retired service station owner at Coal Mine Bridge. Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Allen of Bellingham; four grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. Services for him were under the direction of Westford Funeral Home.

EVERS, Arthur L. G. born October 13, 1918 passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 24, 1991 after a valiant fight against insurmountable illness. Dad was cherished and adored by his loving wife and best friend Betty. He was dearly loved and will be forever missed and remembered by his children, Art and Karen Evers, Sharon Evers, Norrie and Bob Fergsson, Rand and Karen Lien, Laurie and Randy Wright, Jim and Irene Lien, Dawn and Don Swidrowich, Holly Warner and his 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He will be best remembered sitting in his chair on the deck on his summer home in Paradise Estates, a twinkle in his blue eyes, a smile on his face, surrounded by those of us who love him. EVERIST, Harold, 88, of Modesto, CA, formerly of Ferndale and Kansas died in Modesto on Sept. 16, 1990. He was born in Bellingham, on August 6, 1902. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lura Warnock; his brothers Elmer, Miles and Jim Everist. He is survived by a cousin Beatrice Smith of Ferndale, and a niece Donna Fulkerson of Yuba City, CA. EVERSON, Ingwald "Walt" age 43, of 2409 James Street, passed away at a local hospital Friday, Nov. 13, (1953) following a lingering illness. EVERSON, Louis, age 85 years of 2509 Williams St., passed away in a local hospital Friday, March 16, (1956). Mr. Everson had resided in Bellingham for the past 59 years. EVERSON, Rose Marie, 64, of 3200 Cherrywood Ave., died Friday, June 26, 1992, at St Joseph's Hospital. Born Jan. 29, 1928, in Olympia to Robert and Lillian Wayne, Mrs. Everson worked at Uniflight and Dick's Tavern. Her husband, Gary Everson, preceded her in death. EVERTZ, Alex C. - Memorial services were held in Seattle at the Georgetown Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 23. Mr. Evertz passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, (1983). He was born in Bellingham June 9, 1911, graduated from Whatcom High School, and was an original recipient of the high school football Inspirational Award. Survivors include his wife, Florence; a son Bruce; a daughter, Pam Burk; grandchildren, Shelley and John Evertz, all of Seattle; a brother, Eddie; sisters, Alice Hanson, Ethel Ellis and Arlene Pilcher, all of Bellingham, as well as nieces and nephews and cousins in this area.

EVERTZ, Eddie, 87, of 700 32nd St., died Jan. 20, 1992, in a Bellingham care facility. He was born in 1904 in Chicago, Ill., to Knute and Signe Evertz. He came to Bellingham as an infant. Mr. Evertz worked at the Evertz Bronze Works on Ellis Street until his retirement. He was a 66-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a member of the Order of Vasa. Survivors include sisters Alice Hanson, Ethel Ellis and Arlene Pilcher, all of Bellingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship, 1708 I St. Arrangements are by Westford Funeral Home.

EVERTZ, Knute A., age 78 years of 2838 Iron Street passed away in a local hospital Sunday, Dec. 11, (1960) following a brief illness. Mr. Evertz had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 55 years having been the owner and operator of the Evertz Bronze Works. He was a member of the Washington Club, the Order of Vasa and the Theosophical Society. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Signe C. Evertz at the home; 3 daughters, Mrs. Alice Hanson and Mrs. Ethel Ellis, both of the city and Mrs. Arlene MacDonald of Wenatchee; 2 sons, Eddie Evertz at the family home and Alex of Seattle; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; also one sister in in Sweden and numerous other relatives. EVERY, Erich - Former Bellingham resident Erich Every, 34, died Sunday, March 8. 1992, in Stateline, Nev., following a long illness. He was born Aug. 18, 1957, in Florida, and came to Bellingham as a youth. He graduated from Bellingham High School and worked in the private medical care field. He moved from Whatcom County in 1979. Mr. Every was an emergency medical technician in Nevada. Survivors include numerous friends in Washington and Nevada. There were no services. His ashes were returned to Florida. Arrangements were by Fitzhenry's Funeral Home and Crematory in Carson City, Nev.

EVICH, Infant son of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Evich passed away at a local hospital, Friday, November 8, (1946). Besides the parents, two sisters survive, Janet and Janice, at home; also two grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Vitaljic, of Bellingham. EVICH, Andrew Joseph, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was born in Everett, WA on Aug. 8, 1913, died November 11, 1992 in Bellingham, WA. He was 79. Andrew moved to Bellingham in 1929, graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1931 and married Katherine Vitalic on September 17, 1938. Andrew was a long-time fisherman who roamed the seas on the "Red Feather" for many years. His hobbies included painting, constructing model fishing boats, and hand crafted furniture. Andrew was also a member of the Elks Club. Andrew Evich is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katherine; two daughters, Janet Tonn and husband Roger, and Janice Dickson; one son, Andrew Evich and wife Debbie; four granddaughters, Faye Tonn, Kris Koethe and husband Craig, Rachel Tonn and Heidi Dickson; one grandson, Tony Dickson; one great-grandson, Nicolas Tonn; and Andrew's beloved aunt, Catheryn Evich. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday Nov. 16, 1992 at Westford Funeral Home with Sister Pauline Dibb officiating.

EVICH, Luella M., age 83, a long time resident of Bellingham, died Monday, September 29, 1997 in Edmonds, Washington. Mrs. Evich was born on June 12, 1914 in Sweet Grass, Montana to parents Albert and Mamie (Lydon) Dunham. She came to Bellingham in 1924 and graduated from Whatcom High School. Luella had worked as a sales clerk for the Golden Rule for 22 years. In 1939, she and Joseph Evich were married in Bellingham. She had been a member of Church of the Assumption, the Catholic Daughters, and the Fairhaven Ladies Lions. She was a past member of Sacred Heart Church. Relatives include her son and daughter-in-law Peter and Marcia Evich of Edmonds, three grandchildren, Aaron Evich of Montlake Terrace, Amy Evich of Vallejo, CA and Adam Evich of Edmonds and two great grandchildren Alisha and Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1980. A vigil prayer service will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 1997 at Westford Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 1997 at Church of the Assumption, 2116 Cornwall Avenue, Bellingham.

EVICH, Muriel Regiel Lewis, died Wednesday, January 15, 1997 at Bayside Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on Oct. 24, 1907 to George and Louise (Hepner) Regiel. She lived her early years in Bay City and Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Wheaten, Ill. There she married Richard M. Lewis. They made their early home in various places in Michigan. In 1942 they moved their family to Washington and made their home in Wenatchee. Later they moved to Brewster and on to Tonasket, Muriel was minister at the Oroville Baptist Church. In 1952, she moved back to Michigan to care for her Grandfather. In 1954 she moved her family to San Francisco where she had a position with the San Francisco Baptist College. In 1956 she and her family moved to Bellingham. During her early years in Bellingham she was employed by Sears and Roebuck in interior design. She married Peter Evich on Dec. 3, 1966. They made their home in Bellingham. She is survived by her husband, Peter Evich of Bellingham, WA; daughter, Barb Lewis sutor of Chelan, WA; sons, Dave Lewis of Whittier, CA, Dan Lewis of Decatur, GA, Doug Lewis of Wenatchee, WA, Darryl Lewis of Whittier, CA; step-children, Tom Evich of Bellingham, Marilyn Newton, Arcadia, CA, Margie Haan, Gig Harbor, Nancy Voiles, Bonnie Lake, WA. Also two nieces in Saginaw, Michigan; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marlow and two sons Don Lewis and Dennis (Butch) Lewis. EVITT, Charlie R., age 77, a Sedro Woolley resident, passed away in Mt. Vernon nursing home, Sat. May 12, 1979. He was born in N. Carolina in 1901 & was a retired logger. EVJEN, Doris, age 42 years, passed away at a local hospital, Monday, November 26, (1945) following an illness of four months. Mrs. Evjen had lived in Bellingham for the past twelve years and was a member of the American Central Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Arthur H. Evjen, Bellingham; her father, Mr. H. M. Erickson, and one brother, Harley Erickson, both of Minot, N. D. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Rev. Earl Soiland Thursday, November 29 at 1:30 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

EVJEN, Grace - A graveside service for longtime Whatcom County resident Grace Evjen will be held today, May 17, at Greenacres Memorial Park at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cindy Bauleke officiating. Mrs. Evjen passed away in an Issaquah Rest Home on Saturday, May 13, 1989, at the age of 88. Grace was born in Sumas on Dec. 3, 1900, to William and Agnes Atkins. She attended school in Sumas and Everson. After graduating from high school, she went to Wilson's Business College in Seattle. She then returned to Bellingham and was employed by Diehl Motor Co. as Hugh Diehl's secretary. She was married to Carl B. Evjen on Sept. 14, 1926, in Mount Vernon and in 1988 they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Four years ago they moved to the Bellevue area. She is survived by her husband, Carl, of the family home in Bellevue; a son, Robert and his wife Mary of Redmond; three sisters, Kathleen Atkins and Beth Haveman, both of Bellingham and Ruth Hyde of Rochester, Wa.; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Helen Atkins of Seattle. She was preceded in death by a son in 1931; one brother, William J. Atkins of Seattle; and two sisters, Cecelia Showers of Los Angeles and Geraldine Pelzel of Bellingham. Arrangements are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

EVJEN, Helene R., age 82 years, a resident of 908 East Maple Street, passed away at a local hospital, Sunday, September 30, (1945). Mrs. Evjen had resided in the Ferndale district for 37 years. She is survived by two sons, Arthur, of Bellingham, Carl, of Lynden, and one grandson, Bob Evjen, of Lynden. The body rests at the Monroe Funeral Home in Ferndale where services will be conducted Thursday, October 4, at 2 p.m. with Rev. C. J. Nestvold officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

EWALD, Julius Jacob, age 83, of 1615 Donovan Ave., passed away in a local hospital Monday, March 26, (1956). Mr. Ewald was a retired fish cooker for the P. A. F., had resided in this community for the past 56 years and was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the Danish Brotherhood. Surviving relatives include his widow, Mrs. Mary Ewald at home; one son, James J., of this city; one brother, James of International Falls, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Dena Nord of Elk River, Minn., and two sisters in Denmark; numerous nieces and nephews. EWALD, Mary C., age 84, 1615 Donovan Avenue, passed away at home Monday, December 20, (1965). A sixty-five year resident of this city, Mrs. Evald (sic) was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and the Danish Brotherhood. EWALD, Stephanie K., 21, of Poulsbo, died Saturday (January 3, 1981) in a hiking accident near Mount Baker. She was born Aug. 30, 1959, in Pennsylvania. She was a senior at Western Washington University. She was a member of St. Charles Episcopal Church, Poulsbo. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ewald, and a sister. EWING, son, age 1 day, passed away Saturday, March 1, (1947) at a Blaine hospital. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. EWING, Augusta C., age 97, of Bellingham, died Tuesday, May 1, 1990, in Bellingham. She was born Nov. 25, 1892, in George, Iowa, and was a member of the pioneer Curtis family in the Dakota Territory. Mrs. Ewing was a Bellingham resident since 1943. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bellingham and its Co-Workers Bible Class and Women's Circle. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 65 continuous years and a life member and past president of American Legion 8 et 40. Survivors include three sons, Robert Ewing and wife Miriam of Blaine, Paul Ewing and wife Genevieve of Everett, Gary Ewing and wife Caroline of Seattle; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Brudos of Lake City, S. D., and Leona Vaughn of Ferndale. She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis and wife Helen of Lynden, (daughters) Bette Weeden of Texas, and Arlene Ewing. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 5, at First Baptist Church of Bellingham with Pastor Keith Madsen officiating. Burial was in Greenacres Memorial Park.

EWING, Bertha J., age 80, of 2619 Orleans Street, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, Nov. 19, (1953). Mrs. Ewing had been a resident of this community for the past 43 years and leaves to survive her husband, Richard H., at home; one son, James B., of Seattle; three brothers, F. L. Stafford, T. J. EWING, Carolyn, age 92, of 2720 McLeod Road, passed away at a local hospital, Monday, February 13, (1950) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Ewing was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and had been a resident of Bellingham for 50 years. Surviving relatives include her husband, Edward H.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Keehn, of Bellingham; one step-son, Will Ewing, of Bellingham; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mabel Hearn, of Sedro-Woolley; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Requiem mass will be said Friday, February 17 at 10 a.m. from the Church of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. Fr. John Shaughnessy celebrant. Interment in Bay View Cemetery, under the direction of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home.

EWING, Curtis M., age 61, who died in a Bellingham hospital on Thursday, July 2, (1981) were conducted on Tuesday, July 7, at 2 p.m. in the Lynden United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Carlson officiating. Burial and military honors followed in Greenacres Memorial Park.
Mr. Ewing of 1987 Kok Road, Lynden, was born in Lake City, South Dakota (April 24, 1920) and came to the Lynden area after World War II in which he served in the U. S. Army. After the war Mr. Ewing continued active in the Army reserve and graduated from numerous military defense training schools before he retired with the rank of Major in 1980.
He was a member of the Reserve Officers Association of the United States and prior to his retirement had been employed at Albers Feed Store in Lynden. He was also a member of the Lynden United Methodist Church, the Steven Holmes Morrison VFW Post of Lynden, the Sumas American Legion and the Loyal Order of Camels in Lynden. He was married to Helen Ernst in Bellingham on November 28, 1948.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Ron Ewing and his wife Heidi; Gary Ewing and his wife, Linda, and Jeff Ewing, all of Lynden; three grandchildren; his mother Mrs. Augusta Ewing of Bellingham; three brothers, Robert of Blaine, Paul in Everett, and Gary of Seattle and numerous other relatives. He was also preceded by his father, Raymond, and two sisters, Arlene Ewing and Betty Weeden. Funeral services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

EWING, Earl R., age 65 of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away suddenly, Nov. 9th, (1986) while visiting in Northridge, California. He is survived by his wife Josephine and daughter Beth-Francis of Phoenix; his mother Hazel Ewing of Bellingham, 1 sister Lynn Reamer of Bellingham & 3 brothers Lloyd & Roy of Bellingham & Leslie of Gulala, California, also numerous nieces & nephews. EWING, Edward H., age 84 years, of Star Route, passed away in a local hospital Tuesday, November 6, (1951) following a lingering illness. Mr. Ewing was a retired carpenter and had resided in Bellingham for the past 58 years. He is survived by one son, W. D. Ewing, of this city; one daughter, Mrs. Mable Tollefsen, of Sedro Woolley; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, John R., of Ocean City, Wash. EWING, Floyd E. Jr., of Bellingham, passed away Oct. 2, 1992 in Seattle at the age of 67. Had had throat cancer surgery, and was going thru radiation. He was born Jan. 30, 1925 in Guernsey, Wyo., to Floyd and Lorena Ewing. Attended 11 years of school there, then moved with his parents to Denver, CO, graduating from North Denver High in 1943; was drafted in Navy on graduation day, served until Dec. 1945. Floyd took up automotive salesmanship and worked in several cities before coming to Bellingham in 1973. Retired on medical disability. Survivors include his son, Dennis and daughter-in-law, Theresa Ewing of Pateros, WA, also grandson Danny and granddaughter, Jamie; mother, Lorena Ewing and sister Alice Mathews of Bellingham; 2 nieces, 4 nephews and their families. Belonged to South Denver Lodge #93 AF and AM since 1947. Also Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Seattle since 1962. No services were conducted.

EWING, Frank H., age 91, of 3515 Lakeway Drive, passed away in a local hospital, Tuesday, Dec. 10, (1957) following an extended illness. Mr. Ewing was a pioneer of Skagit County and had resided in the community since 1921. He was a retired farmer. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Emma Ewing of the family home; 1 daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bartleson of this city; 1 son, Samuel in Venezuela; 2 grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Clara McQuiston of Morning Sun, Ohio, many nephews and nieces in the East. EWING, Georgia Pearl (Gossage) of 2423 Orleans St. died Tuesday, July 27, 1993. She was 63. At her request, no services will be held. Burial will be at Saxon Cemetery. Born July 19, 1930, in Bellingham, she was a lifelong Bellingham resident. She married Robert F. Ewing on June 26, 1947, in Bellingham. Mrs. Ewing was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of the family home; daughters Theresa Thompson, Lorine Ewing and Debra Maddux, all of Bellingham; son Robert D. EWING, Hazel Emily (Roath), age 92, of 2505 Monroe Street, Bellingham, passed away Sunday, June 23, 1991. Born June 10, 1899 in Helena, Montana, Mrs. Ewing moved to Whatcom County in 1930; was a member of the Bellingham Senior Citizens Center and preceded in death by her husband, Ray James Ewing, in August, 1967 and son, Earl Ewing, in Nov. 1987. EWING, Helen Mae - Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Ewing, age 62, of 406 LaVilla Drive, Lynden, were conducted on Wednesday, February 22 at 1 p.m. in the Lynden United Methodist Church with Rev. Mrs. Ewing, who died in a Bellingham hospital on Sunday, February 19, was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on May 20, 1921 and moved to Lynden in 1945. She was a member of the Lynden United Methodist Church and had been employed at Noteboom-Byman and Hendricks Insurance in Lynden for the past 17 years. She was married to her husband Curtis in Bellingham on November 28, 1945; Mr. Ewing died in 1981. She is survived by three sons, Ron, Gary and wife Linda, and Jeff and wife Marjorie, all of Lynden; three grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Augusta Ewing of Bellingham; four brothers-in-law, James Weeden in Texas, Robert Ewing of Blaine, Paul Ewing of Everett and Gary Ewing of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

EWING, Richard Howe, age 86, formerly of 2619 Orleans St., passed away in a Seattle hospital Wednesday, April 1, (1959). Mr. Ewing was a retired school principal and superintendent of schools at Blaine from 1921 to 1937; he was a 55-year member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F. & A. M.; was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of the Knights Commandery Court of Honor. Survivors are one son, James Boyd Ewing of Seattle. EWING, Samuel A., 76, of 2625 W. Maplewood Ave. died Friday (Oct. 14, 1988) in a Bellingham hospital. Mr. Ewing was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Navy Air Corps. He worked in Venezuela as a heavy equipment operator for 20 years until his retirement in 1979. Survivors include a niece, Jean N. Bartleson of Bellingham; a nephew, John Bartleson of Bellingham; and friend Doris Louden of Bellingham. No services will be held. Cremation arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home.

EWING, William L., Blaine, WA passed away July 10, 1991 in Bellingham. He was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County. Mr. Ewing was a small business owner and had attended the Episcopal Church. EYERLY, William H. "Jack" beloved husband of Mrs. Roberta Eyerly, 2233 Iron Street, passed away Sunday, April 29, (1945) following a lingering illness. EYTZEN, Hilda, age 76, 2726 Alderwood Ave., Bellingham, passed away at Alderwood Park Convalescent Center in Bellingham on Dec. 27, 1990. She was born on June 28, 1914 in Mountain Lake, MN. She was a member of the Birch Bay Mennonite Brethren Church. Mrs. Eytzen was preceded in death by her husband Abe in 1974 and an infant son in 1939. Survivors include a son Robert Eytzen and wife Mary of Ferndale; a daughter Verna Doerksen and husband Don of Bakersfield, CA; 2 grandsons, Roger Eytzen and wife Joanne of Ferndale, and Norman Eytzen of Bellingham; 3 granddaughters, Rita Schultz and husband Ray of Marysville, WA, Nancy Eytzen Schultz of Bellingham and Sheri Doerksen of Bakersfield; 3 great-grandchildren Ian and Ivan Eytzen and Melinda Schultz; 3 sisters and sister-in-law. Funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 31, 1:00 p.m. at Birch Bay Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Byron D. Neufeld officiating. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery.

EZELL, Arthur D., age 78, of Chuckanut Square, passed away Wed., July 19, 1978 in a local nursing home. He is survived by his wife, Shirley at home. Family services were held Thurs., July 20th at Westford Funeral Home.

EZELL, Larry Maxwell, of Vancouver, passed away in hospital Fri. Sept. 16, 1988. Born July 19, 1947 in Bellingham, WA. Larry is a graduate of Bellingham High School and a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He is survived by his loving family; mother, Dorothy Sterloff of So. Burnaby, B. C.; sister, Sharon Richardson & husband Tom of Bellingham; also nieces Lori & Janel, also of Bellingham. He will be dearly missed by many relatives & friends. Private family service will be held Thurs. Sept. 22 in Greenacres Memorial Park Chapel, Bellingham.

EZELL, Robert S., age 18, of 3700 W. Maplewood, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 16, (1964). He was a life resident of Whatcom County and a 1964 graduate of Mt. Baker High School. He leaves to survive his father, Maxwell; his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Ezell of Bellingham; 1 brother, Larry and 1 sister, Sharon, both of the home; maternal grandfather, Charles D. Tenaglia; paternal grandmother, Mrs. W. W. Frost of North Carolina and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 20, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. Interment Greenacres.

EZZY, Kimberly Anne, 22, of Camden, Maine, formerly of Bellingham, died March 8, 1990, at her home of self inflicted gun shot wound. She was born in Aiken, S. C., March 20, 1967, the daughter of Gregory J. and Suzanne E. (Bryant) Ezzy. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1985 and moved to Camden, Maine area after graduation. She had been employed at Mount Battle Motel in Camden, Maine, and at Rockland True Value Hardware. She also had worked at Seacoast Security and Telephone, and Camden Answering Service in Rockport, Maine. Surviving are her father, Gregory J. Ezzy of Marysville, Wa.; her mother, Suzanne E. Beam of Glen Cove, Maine; paternal grandmother, Luella Athanasian of Presque Isle, Maine; maternal grandfather, Gordon Bryant; and maternal great-grandmother, Elva Bryant, both Cutler, Maine;; two brothers, Jeffery M. Ezzy of Everett; and Timothy A. Ezzy of Marysville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service was held Saturday March 10, in Camden, Maine.
