FABER, Anna H. - Funeral services for Mrs. Anna H. Faber, age 66, of 208 Liberty Street, Lynden, will be conducted on Thursday, October 12, at 2 p.m. in the First Reformed Church of Lynden with Rev. Gordon VanOostenburg officiating and Rev. John Finney participating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Mrs. Faber, who died Monday, October 9, (1978) was born in Litchville, North Dakota and moved to Lynden 10 years ago from that city with her husband Harvey, whom she was united in marriage in Litchville on June 3, 1941. A member of the First Reformed Church of Lynden, she is survived by her husband Harvey, four sons, Sherwin of Spokane, Glenn of Sumas, Ronald of Vernon, B.C. and Larry of Lynden; a daughter, Mrs. Marlene (Gary) Reasoner of Rantoul, Illinois and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ada Verduin of Lynden and Mrs. Jeanette Arends of Vancouver, Washington; three brothers, Ted Lenssen of Yakima and Richard and Bernard Lenssen of Litchville, North Dakota; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jo Johnson of Lynden and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded by two brothers, James and Leonard Lenssen and a sister, Henrietta Lenssen. Services are under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.

FABER, Elizabeth Maria, 509 N. 14th, Lynden, died Saturday at the age of 62. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by her husband Ivan; daughter Miss Christine Roos, Nigeria, Africa; brothers Herman, Everett and John Van Loo of Lynden; sisters Mrs. Joahanna Laninga, Mich., Mrs. Gerdena Douma, Calif., Mrs. Gertrude Van Beek, Mrs. Bertha Hoksbergen and Mrs. Catherine Bovenkamp, all of Lynden. Services will be held Tuesday, at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church, Arie Leegwater officiating. Burial will be in Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home.

FABER, Gertrude, age 55 years of 1000 Front Street, Lynden, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 12, 1960). Mrs. Faber had been a lifetime resident of Lynden and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are her husband, Ivan; three sons, Ray, Kenneth and Samuel; one daughter Sandra Jean; three brothers, Ray, James and Ted Bajema; one sister, Miss Rena Bajema and her father, Sam Bajema, all of Lynden; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the First Christian Reformed Church Wednesday, June 15, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Reinsma officiating. Burial will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home.

FABER, Ivan - Funeral services for Ivan Faber, 89, Lynden, were conducted on Monday in the First Christian Reformed Church of Lynden with Rev. Phil Kok officiating. Private burial preceded in Monumenta Cemetery. Faber, who died in Lynden on Thursday, Nov. 1, 1990, was born in Lynden on Aug. 16, 1901 to Ulbe and Barbara Faber. At the age of 3 he moved with his family to Oak Harbor until he returned to the Lynden area with his wife Gertrude (Bajema) in 1942. They were married on June 8, 1939 and Mrs. Faber died in 1960. Ivan was employed at the former Elenbaas dairy and then for 20 years was the custodian at the First Christian Reformed Church, where he was a member. He was married for a short time to Betty Roos, who died in 1974. He was also a sports enthusiast. He is survived by a son Ken and his wife Nancy of Lynden; daughter Sandra Faber of Ontario, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Geri Faber of Lynden; eight grandchildren; brother Peter Faber and wife Pauline of Mount Vernon and numerous other relatives. He was also preceded by an infant son Eugene and a son Sam in 1965. He was followed by a son, Jerry Faber, who passed away on Friday. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

FABER, Ivan G. "Jerry" - Funeral services for Ivan G. "Jerry" Faber, 50, 709 Birch St., Lynden, will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in the Third Christian Reformed Church of Lynden with Revs. Ken Koeman and Ken McNichols officiating. Private burial preceded in Monumenta Cemetery. Faber died at a Bellingham hospital on Friday, Nov. 2, 1990. He was born in Oak Harbor on June 7, 1940 and was the son of Ivan and Gertrude Faber. In 1942 he moved with his family to Lynden. At the age of 12 he began his association with S & H Auto Parts in Lynden, of which he was a co-owner for the past 20 years. Following high school Jerry served in the Air Force Reserves. He was married to Geraldine Haarsma in Lynden on July 20, 1966. He was a member of the Bellingham Christian Reformed Church and was fold of Model railroading and classical music. He also worked toward the funding of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, from which disease his brother Sam died in 1965, and he had a deep interest in Christian education. He is survived by his wife Geri and sons Stephen and Jonathan Faber of the family home; daughters Mary and Ruth Faber of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sister Sandra Faber of Ontario, Calif.; brother Ken Faber and wife Nancy of Lynden, and numerous other relatives. Besides his brother Sam, he was preceded by his mother in 1960, and infant brother Eugene and his father Ivan on Thursday. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

FABRICANT, Jack, age 26, of Seattle, passed away as the result of an auto accident Jan. 3, (1952). Deceased leaves to survive, his mother, Mrs. Ruth Fabricant, of Washington, D.C. Private services were conducted from the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth Saturday, Jan. 12, at 3:00 p.m. Cremation. The remains will be forwarded to Long Island, N.Y., for internment.

FACKLER, Alonzo, age 75, of 1016 Indian Street, passed away in a local hospital, Monday, Oct. 8, (1962). Mr. Fackler was a 40-year resident of this community, having been employed by the Pacific Coast Paper Mill prior to his retirement; was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, and a member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, F&AM. Survivors are his widow, Ruby, city; two sons, Richard of Bellingham, and Robert of Hermiston, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Adams, Cashmere, Wash., Mrs. Mildred Hartman, Seattle; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Alex and Harry Fackler, Champagne, Ill., Charles Fackler, Yakima, Walter Fackler of Oak Park, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hadden of Saddras, Ill. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Dr. Stuart T. Benson on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

FACKLER, Elsie Smith Nachtrieb, age 71, of 2727 Utter Street, Bellingham, WA, passed away Friday, January 11, 1991. A resident of Bellingham since 1950, she was a member of First Baptist Church; Social Order of the Beauceant, Pocatello, Idaho and Bellingham Yacht Club. Survived by her husband, Richard L. FACKLER, Ruby, age 77, 1016 Indian Street, passed away Sunday, August 23, (1964). A forty-one year resident of this community, Mrs. Fackler was the widow of the late Alonzo Fackler, who preceded her in death in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church; on the Board of Deaconesses; the Pulpit Committee, and was a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Fackler was a graduate of the Bellingham Normal School, following which time she taught school for many years in this community. Survivors are two sons, Richard, city; Robert, Hermiston, Oregon; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hartmen, Seattle; Mrs. Ruth Adams, Cashmere; twelve grandchildren and fifteen nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted by Dr. Stuart P. Benson Wednesday, August 26 at 11 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, followed by burial in Greenacres Memorial Park.

FACKLER, Susan, age 15, 2700 Lakeway Drive, passed away Thursday, July 9, (1964). Susan was a lifetime resident of this City, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church, and of the Baptist Youth Fellowship. Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Fackler, at home; two brothers, Richard C. (Rick); James (Jim); two sisters, Ann and Rainie, all at home; grandparents, Mrs. Alonzo Fackler and Mrs. Georgia Thorsen, both of this City; Ted Thorsen, Culver City, Calif.; great-grandmother, Mrs. Frances Shepardson, City; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be conducted by Rev. Stuart P. Benson Monday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in Bay View Cemetery.

FADDEN, Bruce - A memorial service for Bruce Fadden of Sumas will be at 2 p.m. next Thursday at Sumas Christian Reformed Church in Sumas. Private burial was in Sumas Cemetery. Mr. Fadden died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at his home. He was 77. Mr. Fadden was born Feb. 14, 1923, to George and Margaret (Gordon) Fadden on the family farm in Sumas Prairie, B.C. On April 21, 1950, he married Elizabeth Josephine Anderson and they operated a dairy farm near Sumas. In 1974, they sold their cows and he began working as a millwright for Elenbaas Dairy & Feed Supply, retiring in 1984. Mr. Fadden attended Parkview Gospel Hall of Clearbrook, B.C., where he contributed in many ways to the hall. His brother Kenneth Fadden died previously. Survivors include his wife, of the family home sons Rodney Fadden of Sumas and Brian Fadden of Lynden daughters Merilyn Etelamaki of Marysville, Della Janzen, Donna Redekop and Judy Riemersma, all of Abbotsford, B.C., and Debbie Vinzani of Duyun, China 15 grandchildren and many other relatives. FADENRECHT, Herman, 85, of 5939 Malloy Ave., Ferndale, died Friday, Feb. 3, 1995 at St. Frances Care Center. He was born Sept. 26, 1909 in Kirk, Colo. to Rudolph and Lena (Friesen) Fadenrecht. He was married on April 30 1942 to Frieda Peters in Hepburn, Saskatchewan. They moved to Joes, Colo. in 1942 and to Blaine in 1948. Herman was a dairy farmer in Blaine until he retired in 1976 and moved to Ferndale. He was a member of the Birch Bay Mennonite Brethren Church and served as an usher and on the food committee. He enjoyed woodworking and construction. He is survived by his wife, Frieda of Ferndale; son Kenneth Fadenrecht and wife Shirley of Cashmere; son Stanley Fadenrecht and wife Ruth of Eager, Ariz.; daughter Mavis Dammarell and husband Craig of Ferndale; son Alfred Fadenrecht and wife Donna of Snohomish; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, George Fadenrecht and wife Florence of Ellensburg and Leander Fadenrecht and wife Rosella of Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by brothers Jake and Edward Fadenrecht and sisters Sarah Willems and Lottie Fadenrecht. Funeral services were held today at Birch Bay Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor James Totzke officiating. A graveside service followed at Enterprise Cemetery. FADENRECHT, Lottie - The funeral for Lottie Fadenrecht of 5791 Golden Eagle Drive, Ferndale, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Birch Bay Mennonite Brethren Church, 7039 Jackson Road, Blaine. The Rev. Byron Neufeld will officiate. Burial will follow in Enterprise Cemetery. Miss Fadenrecht, 87, died Thursday, May 28, 1992, in Christian Rest Home, Lynden. She was born July 9, 1904, in Kirk, Colo., to Rudolph and Lena Fadenrecht. She came to Whatcom County in 1947. Miss Fadenrecht was a member of Birch Bay Mennonite Brethren Church. Survivors include her brothers, Herman Fadenrecht of Ferndale, George Fadenrecht of Ellensburg and Leander "Lee" Fadenrecht of Portland, Ore. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home.

FADENRECHT, Rudolph E., age 84 of Rt. 1 Blaine passed away at home Saturday, April 1, (1961). Mr. Fadenrecht had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 14 years and was a member of the White Horn Mennonite Brethren Church. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Lottie Fadenrecht of Blaine and Mrs. Sarah Willlems of Sask.; five sons, Jake of New Westminster, Edward of Joes, Colo., Herman of Blaine, George of Pinckney, Mich. and Leander of Portland; two sisters, and two brothers; also 27 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the White Horn Mennonite Church Wednesday, April 5, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. P. C. Martens officiating. FAGAN, Margaret I., age 82 years of 1411 H Street, passed away Sunday, October 19, (1952) at a local hospital following a lingering illness. Mrs. Fagan had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 40 years and was a member of the World War I Mothers' Club. Her husband, the late Henry Fagan, passed away 12 years ago, October 19. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maud Stevens, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Ida Johnson, of Lewis, Kansas; one son, Walter Fagan, of Eastern Washington; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 22nd, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home with the Rev. John E. FAGERHOLM, Edwin, of Lopez Island, age 90, passed away Feb. 9, 1985. He was a lifetime resident of Lopez Island. He is survived by his wife, Nora of Lopez; 1 daughter, Noretta Barkley and husband Larry of Vallejo, Calif.; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 1 sister, Jenny Gwynn of Port Angeles; numerous nieces & nephews. FAILING, Mary E., age 69, of 1000 34th Street passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 1991 in St. Joseph's Hospital. Born July 27, 1922 in Telluride, Colo. to James and Harriet Ritchey. Resident of Whatcom County since Sept. 1979, she was an artist who had studied in Munich, Germany and had shows of her work in Germany and the U.S.; enjoyed working with children at the 4-H Camp Cornet at Deception Pass. Her special interest included carving soapstone, making hand made paper, oil painting, stain glass and music. She was dedicated to her husband's career as a musician. She is survived by her husband Allen E. whom she married Apr. 26, 1942 in Castle Rock, Colo.; 1 son Richard Allen & wife Deborah Failing of Colo. Springs, CO; 3 gr. FAILOR, Lewis Calvin passed away in Everson on Sunday, December 5, 2004. He was born in Auburn, WA on Sept. 8, 1919, to John and Althea Failor. Lewis graduated from Mt. Baker High in 1937. He married Ruth Helm in 1942. She preceded him in death in 2000. Lewis retired from the Grandma Cookie Baking Company in the early 1980s. After retirement, he and Ruth enjoyed boating in the San Juans with the Squalicum Yacht Club and "motor-homing" to Arizona before moving to Yuma. In 2000, Lewis moved to the Leopold Retirement Hotel in Bellingham. He is survived by his children, Kathy Scodeller, Mary Adams, Skip Failor; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Dick Failor; & sisters, Elenor Zahnow & Frieda Chowan. FAILOR, Zilpha D. - Services for Zilpha D. Failor, 89, a retired first-grade teacher with the Mount Baker School District, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Burien Evangelical Church in Seattle. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park in Whatcom County. Mrs. Failor died Monday (July 16, 1990). She was born in Sheffield, Iowa, on Sept. 19, 1900, and had lived in the Seattle area for several years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include daughters, Mary E. Weeks of Des Moines, Wash., Frieda Chown of Seattle and Eleanor Zahnow of Auburn, Wash.; sons, Jack Failor of Portland, Ore., Dick Failor or Olympia, and Calvin Failor of Bellingham; and numerous grandchildren. FAIR, Alma, 85, a 30-year resident of Bellingham, died Wednesday in a local nursing home. She was born May 29, 1894, in Indiana. She resided at 603 W. Illinois St. She is survived by her husband, Floyd, and one sister. At her request, no services will be held. Cremation will be at Greenacres Memorial Park, under direction of Jones Funeral Home.

FAIR, Floyd E., age 87 of 603 W. Illinois, died Sat. May 16, 1981. A retired Assessor, he was a resident of Whatcom County for 55 years; 50 year member of Kulshan Lodge No. 186 F & AM, Blaine; member of World War I Barracks and is survived by 2 brothers, Alvin J. FAIR, James, age 79, of 1207 State Street, passed away in a local hospital Thursday noon Apr. 14, (1949) following a short illness. Mr. Fair had been a resident of Bellingham for many years and was a retired logger. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. E. G. Bowler, in Murray, Utah. Requiem mass was said Wednesday, April 20, at 9 a.m. within the church of the Assumption with the Rev. Father John McDonnell officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home.

FAIRBANK, Phyllis, 77, of Ferndale, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1992, at home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Lynnwood. Burial will be in Holy Rood Cemetery. Mrs. Fairbank was born April 21, 1915 in Calgary, Alberta, to David and Louise Boyce. She married Jack Fairbank March 31, 1940, in Seattle. Mrs. Fairbank was an active member of the Catholic church. Survivors include her husband, Jack Fairbank, of Ferndale; sons David, Jerry, Dennis, John and Philip Fairbank; daughter Mary Stockler; and 12 grandchildren. FAIRBANKS, Eulo, aged 65 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Jessie Fairbanks, 930 Sixteenth Street, passed away Thursday, August 19, (1943) at a local hospital. Mr. Fairbanks had resided in Bellingham for the past twenty years and was a member of the Knights of Pythias of Cleveland, Oklahoma, and a member of the Pulp and Sulphite Workers Union. Surviving besides the widow one daughter Eugenia at home, one son, Glen D. of Seattle, five sisters, Mrs. E. T. Mason, Mrs. D. W. Williams, Mrs. C. Lantz, Mrs. Charles James and Mrs. Roy Edmond, all in Bradner, Ohio, two brothers, Grant Fairbanks and Heaton Fairbanks of Bradner, Ohio and two granddaughters, Susan and Molly Fairbanks of Seattle. The remains are resting at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home where services will be conducted Saturday August 21 at 1:30 by Rev. James M. Wilson. Cremation.

FAIRBANKS, Gertrude D., a retired employee of Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co. and a former member of the Sweet Adelines singers, died Saturday (Jun. 27, 1987). Mrs. Fairbanks, 65, of 901 Forest St. died Saturday. She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Bellingham. Her husband, Jerry, died earlier. Survivors include two sons, David Fairbanks of Redmond and Dale Fairbanks of Salem, Ore.; and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Greenacres Memorial Park, with the Rev. Al Archer officiating. Arrangements are by Westford Funeral Home.

FAIRBANKS, Jerry, age 58 of 2105 I St., passed a way Wed. May 27, (1981) in a local nursing home. He had been a barber for some 36 years and was presently part owner of the Leopold Barber Shop. A veteran of WWII, member of Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7 American Legion and Barbers Local No. 457. He is survived by his wife Peggy; 2 sons, David A. of Redmond, Wash. and Dale W. of Salem, Oregon; 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 1 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Talley officiating. Interment Greenacres.

FAIRBANKS, Pamela Margaret of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2005. She was 59, born October 19, 1945, in Mount Vernon, where she grew up and went to school. She later moved to Bellingham where she raised her children. Pam worked at Cost Cutter Grocery, where her smiling face will be remembered by many of her co-workers and customers. Pam's greatest joy was found in her family life. She was a wonderful mother and an enthusiastic grandmother. She was a very special person who took genuine pleasure in making the people around her feel happy. Pam touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed. Pam is survived by her four loving children: Gerald Fairbanks, Jamie Fairbanks, Patricia Fairbanks, and Brandi Fairbanks; four grandchildren: Mazelle Fairbanks, Eli Fairbanks, Tinysha Fairbanks, and Chantell Fairbanks; sisters Michelle Grenier and Candice Wyatt; and brother Patrick Lee. FAIRBURN, Nina, Vancouver, Wash., age 84, passed away in that City Friday, April 21, (1967). Mrs. Fairburn operated a store in this City before moving to Vancouver in 1950. She was a member of the Christian Science Church. Surviving is a son, Rex Fairburn of San Diego, Cal. Christian Science Memorial Services will be read Tuesday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home.

FAIRBURN, Pearl - Funeral services for Pearl Fairburn will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Westford Funeral Home. Mrs. Fairburn, 91, 4720 Spring St., died Sunday (Apr. 21, 1974). She is survived by four granddaughters; Jeane Moore, Mrs. Robert Shannon and Donna Holeman, all of Bellingham, and Mrs. Leonard Bishop in California; 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

FAIRCHILD, Everett - Private services are scheduled for Everett "Dee" Fairchild of Bellingham, 80, a cartoonist who once was chief of the graphic arts section for the U.S. Information Agency. Fairchild died Saturday (Oct. 14, 1989). He spent the last 20 years of his career at the U.S. Information Agency, where he and his staff produced comic strips, cartoon books and posters to be read overseas. He retired in 1962 and had a summer home in Bellingham. He and his wife, Dorothy, moved to Bellingham permanently in 1981. Among Fairchild's comic strips: "Little Moe," which was his version of life behind the Iron Curton (sic) and appeared in more than 500 overseas newspapers. Fairchild was born Sept. 10, 1909, in Troy, Okla., and was raised in Texas. He graduated with a journalism degree from Texas Tech University and also majored in graphic arts at the Art Institute of Chicago. He married Dorothy Rice on July 5, 1940, and they ran an art studio in Chicago and sold gag cartoons. His work appeared in Esquire, Collier's, Ladies Home Journal and Saturday Review of Literature. He served in the Navy for 2 1/2 years. He also did cartoons for several military publications, including the National Guardsman. He also worked for the International Association of Machinists as art editor of their monthly magazine. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kim Fairchild of Bellingham; a daughter, Diede Bloom of Richland; and three grandchildren.

FAIRCHILD, Gertrude W., 97, died Wednesday (Jan. 3, 1990) at her St. Francis Extended Health Care home. Her body is to be sent to the Richmond Funeral Home in Richmond, B.C., for burial in Mountain View Burial Park in Vancouver, B.C. Local arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

FAKE, Doris Leonard, 66, on Montesano, a former Bellingham resident who operated the Airport Cafe, died Monday in her home. She came to Bellingham in 1976 and operated the cafe at Bellingham International Airport for three years. She was born in Lake Village, Ark., July 19, 1918, and had lived in the Anchorage, Alaska, area for 14 years before coming to Bellingham. She married Phillip Fake in 1979, and they moved to the Grays Harbor area. She is survived by her husband; two sisters, including Hazel Miller of Bellingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held in Montesano on Thursday.

FALB, Mary E., age 77 of Blaine passed away Monday, Jan. 3, (1977). She had been a life time resident of Whatcom County. Surviving are a sister, Doris E. Dahl of Blaine; a niece, Mrs. Gordon Geer and a great nephew, Jeff Geer, both of Blaine. Graveside funeral services will be held in the Blaine Cemetery, Wed., Jan. 5 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. FALCK, Mildred Mary passed away in Yuma, Arizona on April 25, 1987. Survived by husband, Edgar of Blaine; daughter-in-law, Joan Butler of Surrey; grandchildren, Brent, Lauri, Scott and Michelle; sisters, Ethel Charlebois of Saskatoon, Sask. and Queenie Boyce of Regina, Sask; half brother, Frank Boughton of Bend, OR; half sister, Marg Smith of Richmond, B.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; and all grandchildren. FALDE, Nim, 84, passed away Saturday, April 22, (1967). Before recently moving to Stanwood, he was a resident of Ferndale for 30 years and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. FALDE, Tena O., age 78, of Ferndale, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, (1959), in a rest home following an extended illness. She had been a resident of the Ferndale community for the past 23 years. She was a member of the Custer Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband Nim; three daughters, Miss Grace Falde of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Alice Messer of Bellingham, Mrs. Anita Staley of Libby, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Solversen of Rowland, Penn.; two brothers, Christian and Severen Snorteland. FALE, Arthur C., age 29, of 14092 E. Iowa Dr., Aurora, Colorado, died suddenly on Wed. March 17, 1982, in that city. A former Lynden area resident, Mr. Fale had been employed by the U.S. Post Office and had been a resident of Aurora for the past 5 years. FALE, Arthur Clifton, age 61 years, of Lynden, Route 2, passed away Oct. 18, (1946) from a short illness. He had been a resident of Lynden the past 33 years. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Luccetta Metcalf, of Lynden Route 2; two daughters, Erma and Amberlee, of California; three sons, Dardnell, of Lynden, and David and Ward, both of Seattle; four brothers, Roy, of Buffalo, Kansas, Arley, of Hollywood, Calif., Bernie, of Everett, Stafford, of Lynden; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 22, at 2 p.m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden, with Rev. Cecil Barner officiating. Interment in the Lynden cemetery.

FALE, Nelda I., age 77, 105 La Villa Dr., Lynden, passed away in Lynden on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1988. Born in Sedro Woolley May 24, 1910, Mrs. Fale was married to her husband, Stafford, in Lynden, Dec. 20, 1929. For many years she worked at the Washington Co-Op in Lynden and the Star Mercantile and together they owned and operated the Northwood Store from 1951 to 1955 and then moved to Everett where they resided until 1973 when they returned to Lynden. Mr. Fale died in 1987. Mrs. Fale is survived by a son, Jack and wife Carol, of Tacoma; a daughter, Virginia and husband Ken Quimby, of Bellingham; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Cremation was under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home. The ashes will be interred in Lynden Cemetery.

FALE, Nina B., age 52, of 3119 Colby Ave., Everett, passed away after a lingering illness in Providence Hospital Monday, June 25, (1956). Mrs. Fale had resided in Bellingham and Lynden for many years prior to moving to Centralia and Everett. She was a member of the Catholic Church, the Country Club and Yacht Club. Surviving relatives include her husband, Bernie Fale at home; one daughter, Mrs. Magil Deeter at home; two grandchildren, her step-mother, Mrs. Fred Penroy of Bellingham, an uncle, Leonard Penroy of Wiser Lake, an aunt Mrs. Violet Mae White of London, England. Numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted in Everett after which the remains will be brought to Bellingham for burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

FALE, Stafford C., 82, formerly of 1150 Parkview Drive, Lynden, died at the Lynden Christian Rest Home on Tuesday Nov. 24, 1987. Born (July 12, 1905) in Stafford, Kansas. Mr. Fale came to the Lynden area with his parents, Nick and Lucetta Fale, in 1910 and resided here until 1954 when he moved to Everett; he returned in 1973. A retired mill worker, Mr. Fale was married his wife, Nelda, in Lynden on Dec. 20, 1929. He is survived by his wife Nelda, of Lynden; a son, Jack and wife Carol of Tacoma; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia and husband Ken Quimby, of Bellingham; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. At his request, no services were held. Cremation was under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.

FALEN, Betty V. of 2400 Donovan Ave. died Friday, Aug. 26, 1994, at her home. She was 72. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Immanuel Bible Church. Born May 11, 1922, in Little River, Kan., she married Jerry Falen on Aug. 27, 1943, in Little River. They moved to Whatcom County 22 years ago. Mrs. Falen was a homemaker, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was an oil painter. She was a member of Immanuel Bible Church. Survivors include her husband of the family home; son Monte Falen of Bellingham; daughters Sharre Countryman of Bellingham and Kathy Walley of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers Donald Lundstrom of MacPherson, Kan., Cecil Lundstrom and Max Lundstrom, both of Hutchinson, Kan., and Bob Lundstrom of Little River, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Whatcom Cremation Association.

FALING, Edwin L., age 88 years, passed away at a local hospital Wednesday, August 15, (1945) after an illness of four months. Mr. Faling had been a resident of Bellingham for many years and was employed by the P. A. F. for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Civil War, a member of I. O. O. F. No. 31 and Townsend Club No. 5. One son, Cecil Faling, of New York State, survives. The remains rest at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 20 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Ray S. Wagoner officiating, followed by the ritualistic services of the Odd Fellows. Cremation will follow. Honorary casketbearers will be from I. O. O. F. No. 31.

FALK, George Otto - Graveside services for George Otto Falk, formerly of Lynden, were held at Greenacres Memorial Park on Monday, Sept. 25, 1989, at 11 a.m. with Mr. Steven Street officiating. Mr. Falk passed away at St. Francis Extended Care Facility on Thursday morning, Sept. 21, at the age of 91. He was born in Sharon Center, Iowa, on June 15, 1898, to Herman and Mary (Roessler) Falk. In 1900 at the age of 2, his family moved to eastern Washington. By the age of 22 he was employed by Darigold of Lynden. He then worked for Maple Leaf Auto Body of Lynden and later became shop foreman for Sound Pontiac's Auto Body Shop in Bellingham. He was the owner of Falk Auto Body from 1952 until 1980. George was a family man who loved the mountains, hunting and saltwater fishing. He was an ardent "rockhound." He was married to Ethel Zettle on June 6, 1928, in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife at the family home in Bellingham; two sons, Richard Falk and wife Frances of Bellingham and LeRoy and wife Marian of Redmond; four granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Services and cremation were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.

FALK, George Robert of Bellingham died Tuesday, January 2, 2006 (sic). A native of Bellingham, he leaves a devoted wife, Elivia, at the family home. He was 86. Bob was proud of his military service. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942, and his experiences as an Army Cook influenced his life. He was discharged in 1945. He retired from the US Postal Service in July 1972. Survivors include his son Loren (Diane) Falk, and daughters Donna Falk (Eldon) Lee and Kristine Falk. He leaves eight grandchildren; Michelle Falk (Allan) Dubuque; Stephanie, Matthew and Summer Falk; Jennifer, Jason and Daniel Lee; and Lisa Tario; great-grandchildren Dylan and Danielle Dubuque, and Nick and Sophie Tario; brother Bert Falk; and numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Bellingham, at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 6.

FALK, Hildur D. Westerlund, age 87 of 1530 James St., passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 1979. Mrs. Falk was a 77 year resident of this community. She was a member of Northwest Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for many years and a member of the Ladies Circle of the Church. She received a life time teaching diploma from Bellingham Normal School in 1915. She is survived by 2 sons, G. Robert Falk, City, John Bert Falk of Moss Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Glennis A. Vevag of Lynden; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dora Erickson, City; 2 brothers, Harry J. Westerlund of Ferndale & Clearence (sic) Westerlund of Lynnwood; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Memorial service Thurs., Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Northwest Baptist Church, Rev. FALK, Mary, age 87 years, a resident of Seattle, passed away Tuesday, June 11, (1946). Mrs. Falk was a former resident of the Lynden district and is survived by three sons, Edwin, Erwin and George Falk and one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Hazel. FALKNER, Blanche "Babe" VanCruyningen, 67, a former B'ham. resident passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 1981 in Seattle. She is survived by her husband George Falkner of Seattle as well as one brother, Paul VanCruyningen of Grapeview, Wash. and 3 sisters, Evelyn Evich of Seattle, Fannie Sansregret and Helen Pursell of B'ham. Blanche "Babe" VanCruyningen Faulkner, 67, a former Bellingham resident, died Sunday in Seattle. She was born Dec. 17, 1913, in Bellingham. She was a graduate of Bellingham schools, including Kulshan Beauty School. She had been locally employed until her marriage to George Falkner. She had also been a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, a brother, three sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Tim Lann officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Bonney-Watson Funeral Home, Seattle.

FALKNER, George R. - Services for former Ferndale resident George R. Falkner, 79, were scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Bonny-Watson Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 16445 Pacific Highway S., Seattle. The body will be cremated. Mr. Falkner of Seattle died Friday at Highline Community Hospital. A Whatcom County resident for about 30 years, Mr. Falkner was born Sept. 13, 1911, in Ferndale to James Joseph and Clara Morgan Falkner. He grew up in Ferndale and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1929. He married Anna Blanche VanCruynigen in Bellingham in the 1930s. He worked as a baker, then at a Standard Oil service station until World War II, when he joined the Navy. After his first wife's death in August 1981, he married Betty Right on Sept. 13, 1982, in Seattle. After the war, he moved to Seattle and worked as a salesman for Institutional Foods, covering much of Washington until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Falkner was a life member of the Ferndale Masonic Lodge No. 264 F&AM, and the Ballard Elks Lodge in Seattle. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the family home, and numerous nieces and nephews.

FALKNER, Jack William, of Everett died June 17, 1983, in an Everett hospital. He was born August 17, 1909, in Ferndale, Washington. He was a graduate of Western Washington University. He taught in Skagit and Whatcom counties for seven years. He had lived in Everett since 1942 where he taught at South Jr. High School and Cascade High School. He was a football and swimming coach. He also taught firearm safety courses for youngsters interested in hunting. He retired from the Everett School District in 1972. Mr. Falkner leaves his wife, Mary, of the family home; daughters Barbara Holm and Jackie Gilday, both of Everett; brother, George Falkner of Seattle; grandchildren, Lynda Frank and Daniel, Christopher and Robert Gilday. Memorial service will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., in the chapel of Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home. The Rose Croix will be officiating.

FALKNER, James Joseph, age 80 years, of 2906 Walnut Street, lost his life in an automobile accident Friday, October 5, (1951). Mr. Falkner had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 10 years and formerly of Ferndale. He was a Spanish-American War Veteran, a member of the Weisenburger Camp No. 8, and Past Master of the Ferndale Masonic Lodge No. 264 F. and A. F. He is survived by his wife, Clara; 2 sons, Jack of Everett and George of Seattle; 2 granddaughters, Barbara and Jaclyn Falkner of Everett. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 8, at 1:30 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Robert W. Webb, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Followed by the graveside ritualistic services of the Ferndale Masonic Lodge in Greenacres Memorial park.

FALL, Samuel, aged 77 years, Caine Lake, Wash., passed away at a local hospital, Monday, March 10, (1941), after a lingering illness. Mr. Fall had been a resident of Whatcom county for about 25 years and was a member of the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association and of the Washington Co-operative Association. Surviving relatives include two brothers and one sister: John W., Redlands, Calif., Daniel Fall, Middletown, Ohio, and Mrs. Augsburger, Middletown, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Bingham-Dahlquist Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 12, at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. James Wilson. The remains of Mr. Fall will be forwarded to Middletown, Ohio for interment in the family plot.

FALLER, George Francis, age 44, of Sumas, passed away suddenly Sunday, Feb. 28, (1960). Mr. Faller had served as deputy collector of Customs at the Sumas office since 1949. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Sumas, National Customs Service Assn., and the A.F.G.E. Survivors include his wife, Mary Doris, 1 son, Gregory, 1 daughter, Lynn, all of Sumas; 3 brothers, William, Joseph and Robert, all of New York City. FALLON, Louis W., age 65 years, of 2176 Mt. Baker Highway, passed away at the family home Saturday, December 1, (1956). Mr. Fallon had resided in Whatcom County for the past 26 years and was a member of the Church of Assumption and was a retired lumberman. He leaves to survive his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Fallon at the family home; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia MacLean, of Chincoteague, Virginia, and Laura Louise Fallon, of Seattle; two grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters. Rosary was said Monday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home. Requiem High Mass was sung Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 9:30 a.m. within the Church of the Assumption, pastor celebrant.

FALLS, Elfie Pearl, age 70, of 2901 Meridian St., passed away Sunday, May 2, (1965). A member of the Immanuel Bible Church, Mrs. Falls was a 47 year resident of Bellingham. She is survived by her husband Orin at home; one daughter, Miss Winona Falls of Bellingham; one son Gene Falls of Hayward, Calif.; two grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Lila Peterson of Bellingham. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Gerald Wilson on Thursday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

FALLS, Gene C. - A memorial graveside service for former Bellingham resident Gene C. Falls will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Greenacres Memorial Park, Northwest and Axton roads. Military honors will be by Albert J. Hamilton Post 7 American Legion. Mr. Falls, 74, of Wenatchee, died April 29, 1992. He was born July 26, 1917, in Manistique, Mich., to Orin and Elfie Johnson Falls. In 1918 he moved with his parents to Bellingham. He received his education in Bellingham. He was a member of the Bellingham High School football team and graduated in 1936. Following graduation, he worked as an operator at Lind Gravel Co. Mr. Falls entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served in the Seabees, constructing airfields. He was employed as a heavy construction operator all over the world until 1984 when he moved to Wenatchee to be near his son. Mr. Falls was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks and the Ferndale Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his son Greg Fitzgerald of Wenatchee; his daughter Penny Piotter, El Sabarante, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Whatcom County arrangements are through Greenacres Memorial Park.

FALLS, Winona K. - Retired Bellingham hair dresser Winona Katherine Falls, 72, of 211 C St., No. 2, died Friday, April 3, 1992, in St. Joseph Hospital Main Campus. She was born July 24, 1919, in Bellingham to Orin and Elfie Falls. She graduated from Whatcom High School in 1937 and attended McDonald's Beauty School. Miss Falls owned and operated Winona's Beauty Shop for about 40 years. She enjoyed her family, fishing and the outdoors. Survivors include her brother Gene C. Falls of Wenatchee. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel, Northwest and Axton roads. The Rev. Gerald W. Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Greenacres Funeral Home.

FANDRICH, Fred B., age 63 of Valley City, North Dakota, passed away at his residence in Bellingham Monday, November 25, (1963). Mr. Fandrich had resided in Bellingham for 2 weeks, was a retired carpenter and a member of the Jamestown, North Dakota Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 995. He leaves to survive one son, Lloyd of Jamestown, North Dakota; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Griffin of Valley City, North Dakota; 5 grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin Fandrich of Portland, Oregon; 6 sisters, Mrs. Tillie Johnson of Burlington; Mrs. Amelia Mittlider of Longview; Mrs. Martha Shavar of McBride, B.C.; Mrs. Bertha McMillen of Edson, Alberta; Mrs. Carolyn of Denoff, N.D., and Mrs. Lydia Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The remains will be forwarded to Jamestown, North Dakota for services and interment by the Westford Funeral Home.

FANKHAUSER, Anna Mathilda, 71, of Seattle, died Feb. 17,(1988) at Virginia Mason Hospital. She was born on Jan. 12, 1917 in Fairdale, N.D. Daughter of Hanna & Theodore Melland. Survivors include loving husband John Fankhouser; 5 children; 7 grandchildren; 3 sisters & 4 brothers. Services were held at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church in Seattle on Feb. 22. She was buried at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery in Seattle.

FANKHAUSER, Kaspar, age 85, of Clipper, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, January 31, (1963). A retired farmer, Mr. Fankhauser was a 53 year resident of Whatcom County and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors are one son, John Fankhauser of Seattle; one daughter, Mrs. Frieda Porter of Everson; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be conducted by Pastor Fred Zehe at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Monday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Final resting place Saxon Cemetery.
