FICKEL, Donald L., 81, a past president of the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce, died Tuesday (Aug. 5, 1986) in Salem, Ore. He was born May 16, 1905, in Hastings, Ore. Mr. Fickel was a retired secretary-treasurer of Pacific American Fisheries Co. of Bellingham. He had been a Rotary Club member and also was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Theresa of the family home; a stepson, Richard Lovaas of Sedro-Woolley; two sons, Jack Fickel of Burlington and Jim Fickel of Bellingham; two daughters, Jerry Ann Fickel of Bellingham and Jane Fickel of Isla Morada, Fla.; numerous nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Golden Mortuary in Salem. Burial will follow in Salem.

FICKEL, Isabel V. - Memorial services for Isabel V. Fickel age 79 of 2736 Ellis St. will be held Thurs. Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. at the Geneva Community Church with Rev. William Samuel and Mr. Doug Anderson officiating. Family burial will be held in Greenacres Memorial Park. Mrs. Fickel was born Dec. 7, 1904 to Grace Pearl Edmondson and Arthur Carl Puryear at Neola, Iowa. She is survived by her daughter Jerry Ann of city, two sons Jim and wife Margaret Fickel of Bellingham and Jack & wife Rhonda Fickel of Burlington, four grandchildren, one great-grandson & numerous cousins. FIDDLER, Lily May returned home to the loving arms of our LORD on Dec. 12, (2005) in Bellingham. Lily was born in Vancouver, B.C., May 25, 1924. In May 1994, Lily moved to Bellingham to be nearer to her three sisters. She faithfully attended Immanuel Bible Church in Bellingham until her death. Special memorial services will be held after the New Year.

FIDELE, Esther, age 83, of 704 Mission Rd., passed away Wed. Sept. 10, (1986). She was a Gold Star Mother; life member of American Legion Auxiliary of the Nooksack Indian Post No. 83 and is survived by 1 daughter, Ramona Vasquez of Bellingham; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Martin Johnnie of Tulalip, Wa., Raymond Johnnie of Bellingham. Prayer service will be Sun. Sept. 14, 6 p.m. at the Westford Chapel with funeral services on Mon. Sept. 15, 10 a.m. at the Westford Chapel. Burial at Goshen Cemetery. [b. March 26, 1903]

FIDELE, James W., 49, 7040 Mission Rd., Everson passed away October 24, 1991 at his home. James was born January 23, 1942 in Spokane has been a lifetime resident. Mr. Fidele was a commercial fisherman, college graduate in photography and researcher of records administered by the National Archives and Records Administration. Survivors are his mother, Ramona Vasquez; sisters, Sylvia Solomon, Linda Gallagher all of Bellingham and LeeAnn Vanquez of Seattle. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday October 29, 1991 at Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel followed with interment at the Goshen Cemetery.

FIEDLER, Calvin R., age 39, of 2924 W. Maplewood passed away suddenly Saturday, May 9 (1964). Mr. Field had been a resident of this community since 1939; was a veteran of World War II, and had been employed at the General Plumbing Co. as a plumber. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local No. 40, and leaves to survive two daughters, Linda and Loxie both of Bellingham; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin J. Fiedler of Montesano, Wn.; one sister, Mrs. Herb Crape of Bellingham. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted by Rev. Joe Walker Tuesday, May 12, 3:30 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

FIEDLER, Catherine, age 78, of 2622 McLeod Rd., passed away Monday, July 18, (1977). Mrs. Fiedler was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montesano, residing 12 years in Bellingham and the past 26 years in Montesano. Surviving 1 daughter, Mrs. Shirley Crape, city; 1 brother, George Brehm of Woodburn, Oregon; 1 sister, Mrs. Martha Brehm of Portland; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. FIEDLER, Dorothy L. age 69, of 2725 Iron St., died Friday, Nov. 26, (1993) at her residence. She was born June 6, 1924 to James and Hazel Johnston in Bellingham and was a 1943 graduate of Bellingham High School. Dorothy is a past member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She married Calvin Fiedler Feb. 14, 1946 in Bellingham, who died in May, 1964. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, James in June, 1973 and Hazel in May 1983. She is survived by two daughters, Loxie and husband Bill Ayers and Linda Bordsen; six grandchildren, Nancy and Chad Ayers, and Sean, Ain, Anthea, and Aria Bordsen; great-granddaughter, Sara Emerson; and dear friends Laura Raleigh, Dorothy Cory, and Inez and Wes Haworth, all of Bellingham. Private family services were held Tuesday Nov. 30.

FIELAND, George, age 75, of 1120 1/2 Cornwall Ave., passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Jan. 31, (1959). Mr. Fieland had been a resident of this community for the past 50 years and was a retired logger, having worked for Bloedel-Donovan for many years. There are no know survivors. The remains rest at the Jones Funeral Home where services will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 3:00 p.m. Final resting place Greenacres Memorial Park.

FIELD, Anne Grace, of Tacoma died Monday, Aug. 15, 1994, in Tacoma. She was 60. Born Dec. 19, 1933, to Reginald and Varian Belford Hillyard in Bellingham, she was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Robert W. Field, of the family home; daughter Leslie Cox; sons Michael Field and Jon Field; sisters Gloria Hathaway of Bellingham and Rosemary Headman; and numerous grandchildren. Arrangements are by Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma.

FIELD, Dean W., age 69 of Arlington, died July 14, (1988) in Arlington. He was born April 15, 1919 in Arlington & graduated from Arlington High School & the University of Washington. He had owned & operated the Western Washington Aircraft Co. in Bellingham as well as Arlington Flying Service. He served for 25 years as an Arlington Volunteer Fireman & had owned & operated the Arlington Realty. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Burma-India theater as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He leaves his wife Ann at home; 2 daughters, Ellen Smith of Arlington & Colleen Wedam of Olympia; a son Blaine Field of Milwaukee, OR; & 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Rachel Field. Memorial services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Weller Funeral Home in Arlington.

FIELD, Earl M. Sr., age 78 of 1831 Lake Louise Rd., passed away Thursday Nov. 9, 1978. Mr. Field was a retired shipwright and was custodian at Geneva School. He came to the United States from Norway at 6 years of age and had been a Bellingham resident since 1926. He was a member of Shipwrights Local No. 2071. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, 2 sons, Earl Jr., City, Edward of Sutton, Alaska, 2 daughters, Mrs. Nancy Huber of Custer, Mrs. Karla Lewis, City, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ed and Kenneth, 5 sisters, Mrs. Sigrid Olson, Mrs. Helen Odell, Mrs. Esther Keyzer, Miss Margaret Field, Mrs. Dagney Randrup, all in Wisconsin. FIELD, Edgar J., age 61, of 1823 1/2 Smith Road, passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Seattle Sunday, December 21, (1952). Mr. Field had resided in this community for the past nine years and was a service station operator. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a veteran of the first World War. He was a member of the American Legion in North Dakota. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Field, at the family home; a nephew, Robert G. Dunford, of Ephrata, Wash.; and a brother, W. H. Field, of Glendale, Calif. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth, where services will be conducted by the Rev. Jack Walden and officers of the American Legion, Monday, December 29, at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

FIELD, Ella "Ohna" age 86 of 3417 Lindsey Ave., passed away Tues. Sept. 30, 1980. A 43 year resident of this community Mrs. Field was a life member of the Pythian Sisters, a member of the Garden Club and Active in Bellingham Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by 1 son, Everett G. FIELD, Goldie, age 92 formerly of the Mt. Baker Apts. passed away in a local rest home Monday June 14th, (1976). She had been a resident of Bellingham since 1960. And was a retired bookkeeper & office manager. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bellingham. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Roddey of Bellingham and Mrs. William O. Eiselle of Bellville, Ill. Also numerous nieces & nephews. At her request no funeral services were held, cremation under the direction of Veroske's Bellingham Chapel.

FIELD, James, age 79 years, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, August 15, (1946). Mr. Field had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 26 years and prior to coming to Bellingham was a telegrapher for the C. P. Railway and was a member of the Christ Church in Vancouver, B. C. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ida Field, and one sister, Miss Rosa Field in Birley Hill, England. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by Mrs. Margaret W. Kupfer, Saturday, August 17, at 3 p.m. Cremation.

FIELD, Jennie R., 87, 2221 D St., died Friday (Feb. 4, 1972). She was a Whatcom County resident for 60 years and a member of the Ferndale Congregational Church. Mrs. Field is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alice Bailey, Sedro Woolley; 12 grandchildren, including Miss Jeannette Johnson, at home; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Georgia Russell, Everson. Services are pending at the Jones Funeral Home.

FIELD, John Allan, age 65, of 2603 Elm St., passed away in a local hospital, Thursday, Sept. 28, (1961) following an extended illness. Survived by one son, Bernard Field of Montana; two daughter, in the East; six grandchildren; three brothers, Helmer of Zahl, N. D., Alfred of Mankato, Minn., Invald of Vancouver, B. C.; one sister, Mrs. Art Hansen of this city; several step-brothers and sisters. FIELD, Wesley A., age 52 years, of 510 1/2 Magnolia Court, passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday evening, November 11, (1953). Mr. Field had been a resident of Bellingham since 1926 and was a well-known athlete. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by three son, John W., U. S. Navy, stationed in Philadelphia, Penn.; Robert W., of Pullman, Wash., and Terry V., of Seattle; his mother, the Rev. Mrs. O. T. Field, of Bellingham; three brothers, Stanley W., of Bellingham; Dr. Milton W., of Portland, Ore., and Oliver T. Field, of Detroit, Mich., also many nieces and nephews. FIELD, William, age 45 years, passed away in a Mount Vernon hospital, Thursday, November 24, (1949) from injuries received in a mill accident at LaConner Tuesday. For 25 years Mr. Field lived in Bellingham and for the past nine in LaConner, and was employed by the Jensen Shingle Mill. He is survived by one son, Wayne Field, U. S. Navy, the widow, Marguarita B. Field; three brothers, James Field, Gilchrist, Ore., Barney Field, Morton, Wash., J. W. Field, Kosmos, Wash.; one sister, Miss Esther Field, Bellingham, many nephews and nieces. FIELDCAMP, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fieldcamp, Rt. 3, Ferndale, passed away at a local hospital May 7, (1955). Besides the parents, she is survived by two brothers, Vincent and Francis; one sister Lucrice, all at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Frank D'Aprille, city. FIELDCAMP, Margo Lee, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Fieldcamp of 2011 H Street, passed away in a local hospital, Monday March 15, (1954). She is survived by five brothers and sisters, Donna and Donald of Marysville, Ill., Lucrecia, Vincent and Francis, all of the home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Julia D'Aprille of this city. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, March 17, at 11 a.m. under the direction of the Westford Funeral Home with the Rev. Father Bernar(d) V. Cremer officiating. Interment Bay View.

FIELDING, Audrey Doreen of 1516 Lakeway Drive, died Saturday, February 13, 1982 at the age of 54. Born in Brittan (sic) (April 21, 1927), she came to this area a year ago and was a waitress for the Royal. She is survived by a son John in Texas; a daughter Kay Fielding in California; her father, Edward Hickling; a sister, Joyce Fulljames of Kitimat, Canada. Services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 1982 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Veroske, Jerns & LeVeck.

FIELDING, George M., age 82, of Blaine, passed away Saturday, July 23, 1988. He was born in Nebraska, August 26, 1905 and had lived in Mt. Vernon for many years, before moving to Blaine. He had been a logger. Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Enterprise Cemetery with Ardis Skinner officiating. Under the direction of Jerns McKinney Funeral Chapel.

FIELDS, Emma Z., age 68 years, of 1009 W. North St., passed away suddenly Saturday evening, Jan. 22, (1955) as a result of an accident. Mrs. Fields had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 11 years and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mildred McFadden; one nephew, Alva McFadden, and one niece, Mrs. Betty Eckert, all of Bellingham; one niece, Mrs. Marion Cooper of Fullerton, Calif., and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 1:30 p.m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Forsberg, pastor of the Garden Street Methodist Church officiating, followed by cremation.

FIELDS, Ida May, age 78, who resided at 3016 E. North Street, passed away at a local hospital January 3, (1954) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Fields had been a resident of Bellingham for the past 40 years. She leaves to survive two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Morgan and Mrs. Ella Martin, both of Bellingham; three brothers, Archie Fox of Ferndale, Albert and Blaine Fox of Seattle. The Rev. Norman B. Harrison will officiate at the funeral services Wednesday, January 6, at 2 p.m. within the chapel of Bingham-Dahlquist & Jerns Funeral Home. Cremation follows.

FIELDS, Nancy Jane, age 4 years of Amanda Park, Washington, passed away as the result of an accident Tuesday, June 29, (1954). She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Fields, one sister Candus Marie, all at the family home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Sapp, this city and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fields of Seattle. FIELDS, Walter J., age 70, of 602 Baker St., Bellingham, passed away Thurs., March 6th, (1986) at home. He was a life member of the VFW, enjoyed basketball, football, baseball and worked as a heavy equipment operator at the Columbia Cement Co. Survived by his wife, Mary Lynn (m. 1947 CA) of the family home; 1 daughter, Cindy Curtis of Deming; 3 sisters, Lucille Gill of Bellingham, Billie Owens of Buena Park, Calif., Helen Epestein of Carson, Calif.; 2 grandchildren, Jeff & Casey Curtis of Deming. FIELDS, Woodrow B., age 62 of 2803 Cottonwood Ave. passed away Monday, Jan. 24, (1977). A resident of Bellingham since 1947 he was a chip tender at Georgia Pacific. Surviving are his wife, Gussie at home; 1 daughter, Mary Fields of Bellingham; 2 brothers, Walter of Bellingham and Rickard in Arks.; 3 half brothers, Charles, Jim and Richard all in Calif.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Doyle Gill of Bellingham, Billie Owens of Buena Park, Calif. and Helen Epstine of Carson, Calif.; a granddaughter, Cindy Curtis; 2 great grandchildren, Casey and Jeff Curtis all of Bellingham; numerous nieces and nephews, including Gomer and John Owens both of Bellingham. FIESELMAN, Vernon F., age 80, of 1200 Lincoln St. Bellingham formerly of Ferndale, passed away Sunday, June 27, 1993 in Bellingham. He was born April 19, 1913 in Hickman, NE. He was a 51 year resident of Whatcom County. He was raised in Nebraska and graduated from Columbus High School. He traveled through the four northwestern states for ten years for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Mr. Fieselman was a veteran of WWII U. S. Army Transportation Corps, also was a licensed Merchant Marine Deck officer; was a member of AMVETS Pappy Boyington Post #7; and was a member of Ferndale Alliance Church. He married the former Ellen I. Tickner on June 19, 1943. For 20 years Mr. Fieselman, his wife, along with Ellen's sister Florence I. Baker operated El-Vernon Fairyland Feather business of Fluffy, Feathery, Fantastic Creations which they created. They had shops in North Bellingam, Birch Bay and had customers all over the world. Mr. Fieselman is survived by his wife Ellen of 50 years, sister, June Oppliger and husband Herb of Columbus, NE; brother Quentin W. Fieselman and wife Viola of Scottsdale, AZ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Tincker, Edward Tinker (sic), Mary Tincker, all of Bellingham; Ethel Tincker of Blaine; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Ferndale Alliance Church on Wednesday June 30, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jonathan R. Mutchler officiating. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery.

FIGENSHAW, Alice Mertie, age 79 years, of Route 1, Ferndale, passed away at her home Wednesday, August 5, (1959) following a brief illness. Mrs. Figenshaw had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 40 years and was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dora Kenyon of Bellingham, and Mrs. Myrtle White of Ferndale; one son, Holly Wampler of Ferndale; two sisters, Mrs. Cordelia Easterling in Oklahoma, and Mrs. Martha Davies of Sedro Woolley; two brothers, Elisha Morgan of Sedro Woolley and Robert Morgan in Oklahoma; also 19 grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 8, at 1 p.m. in the Moles' Monroe Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Churchill officiating. Final resting place in the family plot in Burlington Cemetery.

FIGENSHAW, William, age 71 years, of Rt. 1 Ferndale, passed away Wednesday, June 6, (1956) at his home. Mr. Figenshaw had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 38 years. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle White, of Rt. No. 1, Ferndale; two step-daughters, Mrs. Della Yiesley of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Mrs. Dora Kenyon of Bellingham; one step-son Holley Wampler of Ferndale; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Rogers of Everett, and Mrs. Josephine Fell of Seattle; two grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 9, at 1:30 p.m. in the Monroe Funeral Chapel in Ferndale with Rev. Joseph Brill officiating. Final resting place Greenacres.

FIGENSHOW, Ann Mary, 68, of Anacortes, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1992 at Island Hospital, Anacortes. She was born March 25, 1924, in Sobrance, Czechoslovakia, to John and Mary Hreha. In 1937, Mrs. Figenshow came to the United States to visit her aunt in Newark, New Jersey. Because of the troubles in Europe she remained with her aunt and finished her education there. During World War II she met and married Knute Figenshow, an Army Air Force Pilot. In January of 1946, she joined her husband in Anacortes, where they owned and operated Marshall Wells Hardware until October 1955, when they sold the store and Knute joined Shell Oil Company. Mrs. Figenshow is survived by her husband Knute Figenshow at the family home in Anacortes, two sons, Knute Figenshow, Jr. of Mt. Vernon; Rick Figenshow of Rapid City, SD; Son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Candice Figenshow of Bellevue, one grandson, Todd Figenshow of Anacortes; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Etka and Tibor Bevilaquor; Maria and Joseph Oklameakova both of Sobrance, Czechoslovakia; numerous nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1992 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anacortes. A Rosary-Vigil service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday also at St Mary's Catholic Church. FILBERT, Benjamin A. of 4480 Mosquito Lake Road, Deming, died Thursday, June 9, 1994, in a hiking accident while looking for his two lost dogs. He was 43. A gathering of friends and family was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home of his brother, Bill Filbert, in Deming. Born March 10, 1951, in Bellingham to Benjamin and Wilda (Brown) Filbert, he lived in Whatcom County all his life. A 1969 graduate of Mount Baker High School, he worked at Bellingham Cold Storage. He was a member of North Enders Bowling League and lived to fish and play darts. Survivors include his wife, Alice Varner Filbert, of the family home; sons Chauncey Filbert of Everett, Brandon Varner of Lynden and William Filbert of Everett; daughter Tonya Varner of Deming and Arlene Filbert of Edmonds; brother Bill Filbert of Deming; sisters Rena Lockwood and Rhonda Lockwood, both of Deming; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. FILER, Owen, 56, 809 Waldron St., Sedro Woolley, passed away in that city Nov. 4, (1965). A retired cook Mr. Filer was a member of Veterans of WWI of USA Inc. Surviving are his widow Beth, a son, Robert O., at home, a daughter, Mrs. Chester Griffith, Sedro Woolley; 2 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Floy Yoder of College Place, Wash. FILION, Henry Joseph, 38, a resident of the Clearbrook district for the past four years, passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday, February 13, (1946). He was born in Springfield, Mass., and came to Washington ten years ago. Surviving are the widow, Hope; four children, Thomas, George, Margaret and Judith; father, George; and one brother and two sisters residing in the East. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 16, at 2 p.m. from the Knapp & Knapp funeral home, in Lynden, with the Rev. George Weston officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

FILLER, Burk J., age 50, who resided at 715 Wilson, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, as a result of an accident. Mr. Filler had resided in Bellingham for the past 20 years. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the VFW, and for many years was a fisherman for the PAF. He leaves to survive his mother, Mrs. Julia I. Filler of Bellingham; two step-brothers, Edward Tracey of Seattle and James of Yakima. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Glenn C. FILLER, Julia I., 715 Wilson, age 90, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 17, (1967). Mrs. Filler was born in Wisconsin, and had resided in this City the past 25 year. Survivors are two sons, Ed Tracy of Seattle; Jim Tracy, Wapato, Wn.; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Services will be conducted by Rev. Richard T. FILLIMAN, Michael Paul was a professor of Mathematics at Western Washington University since 1987. He was born September 20, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada and spent much of his life in Northern California where he received his doctorate in Mathematics from the University of California at Davis. Paul died in his home, Feb. 1st of adenocarcinoma. He is survived by his parents, Margaret Filliman and Michael (George) Filliman (of Phoenix, Ariz.), one brother, Mark Filliman (of Los Angeles, CA) and two sisters, Amy Isenhour (of Charlotte, N. D.) and Beth Filliman (of Homer, AK). A memorial service will be held in Knoxville, Iowa at a later date. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

FILLINGER, Alice, age 38, passed away at the family home, 3036 Meridian Street, Friday, Oct. 13, (1950). Mrs. Fillinger had resided in this community for the past 17 years and had been a member of the Revival Tabernacle. Surviving relatives are her husband, Claude; two brothers, Lee Hughes of Mt. FILLINGER, Claude, age 54, passed away in Cheney, Washington Wednesday, Oct. 19, (1955). Mr. Fillinger had been a former resident of this community and leaves to survive four sisters, Mrs. Zola B. Sleen and Mrs. P. A. Clauson, both of Vancouver, B. C., Mrs. Fred Hedges of Moberly, Missouri and Mrs. Alfred Micktelson of Strome, Alberta, Canada. FILLINGER, John, age 7, of 3036 Meridian Street, passed away at the family home Friday, Oct. 13, (1950). Johnny had been a life resident of the community and leaves to survive his father, Claude; grandfather, Marcus M. Hughes of Mt. Vernon; two uncles, Lee Hughes of Mt. FILLMORE, George, aged 48 years passed away at his home in Marietta Monday, February 15, (1937) following a short illness. Mr. Fillmore was a commercial fisherman and had resided in Marietta for the past thirty years. Surviving him are one brother Leland L. Fillmore at Spokane and two sisters, Mrs. S. G. Pierce of Vancouver, B. C. and Mrs. Ella Paurter of Seattle. The remains are resting at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where future services are being arranged, to be announced later.

FILZEN, Nick C., age 84, of 1603 E. Illinois, passed away June 7, (1961) following and extended illness. Mr. Filzen, formerly of Ross, N. D., had resided in Bellingham for the pat 16 years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption. FILZEN, Theresa, age 82, 1354 Smith Road, passed away in a local rest home Tuesday, October 13, (1964) following an extended illness. She had been a longtime resident of this community. FINALY, Emily Mattison, age 96, formerly of 615 Chestnut Street, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, May 30, (1963). Mrs. Finlay was a sixty-two year resident of this community, and was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. G. Roscoe Hilliard, City; Mrs. Ernest Scrimes, Bell, Calif.; one son, Stanley Mattison, Riverside, Calif.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Ellis Baxter, City; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews in the East. FINCH, Mary K., 63, a long time Mount Vernon resident died in Seattle Friday December 16, 1994. Death was due to an automobile accident that happened early this month in Mount Vernon. She was born in Bellingham, May 13, 1931 the daughter of Dalton and Thelma Goudy Palmer. She was educated in Bellingham graduating from the Bellingham High School with the class of 1949 and also graduated from The Campus School of Bellingham. She then attended St. Elizabeth's Nurses School in Yakima where she received a degree as a registered nurse. She began nursing in Seattle and was united in marriage to James F. Finch in Olympia December 28, 1953. The family settled here in Mount Vernon in 1964 where she has resided since. She had been employed in nursing at the Skagit Valley Hospital for a number of years retiring in 1991. Her husband preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Finch enjoyed walking, bicycling, gardening, bird watching and loved nature. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she had been active in many ways such as the Alter (sic) Society. The Litergy Commission, The Facilities Committee and a member of the Symphony League, The Skagit Aid Support, and the Retired Nurses Assn. Survivors are: 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Peggy Ann and Richard Lane, and Mary Shawn Byfield all of Mount Vernon, 1 son and his wife, James D. and Dana Finch also of Mount Vernon, her mother Thelma Palmer of Bellingham, a sister and her husband, Margaret and Robert Bloch of Bellingham, 8 grandchildren, Aaron and Aimee Tastad, Jamie and Natalie Byfield, Cortney, Colby, Adria and Christiane Finch all of Mount Vernon and nieces and nephews. Her father, 1 daughter Susan, and sister Virginia have also preceded her in death. Vigil services will be held a the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Mt. Vernon Tuesday, December 20, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. with Celebration of Mass to be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 21, 1994 at the Immaculate Conception, Mt. FINCH, Richard A. - Graveside services for Richard Alan Finch, 57, of 1058 Mobile Lane in Ferndale, will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Greenacres Memorial Park with the Rev. Dick Mattila officiating. Mr. Finch died Monday (Nov. 4, 1991) at home. He was born in Hooper, Utah, to Eugene and Lucile Finch. He lived in Idaho and Colorado, but spent most of his life in Utah. He had moved to Whatcom County 10 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Finch of the family home; a daughter, Danielle Finch, also of the family home; his father, Eugene Finch of Ogden, Utah; two brothers, Ronald Finch and Kenneth Finch, both of Ogden Utah; a sister, Dianna Seger of Plains City, Utah; and numerous other relatives. FINDLAY, Margaret E. - Private family services for former Blaine resident Margaret E. Findlay will be at 2 p.m. today in Turlock, Calif. Cremation will follow, with the ashes to be returned to Blaine. Miss Findlay died Monday (Sept. 24, 1990) at her home in Modesto, Calif. She was 80. She was born Aug. 30, 1910, in Enterprise. Her family moved to Montana before moving to Blaine in 1926. After graduating from Blaine High School in 1930, she moved to Southern California at the start of World War II to work in the aircraft plants. Miss Findlay worked as a riveter at several plants. She later transferred to electronics work on submarines and spacecraft. She retired in 1972. Her hobbies included reading, sewing and knitting. Survivors include three sisters, Anna Burden of Waterford, Calif., Dorothea Anthony of Blaine and Hazel Collins of Lakewood, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

FINDLAY, William A. of 4866 Lincoln Road, Blaine, died Tuesday, July 20, 1993. He was 67. No services will be held. Born Oct. 26, 1925, in Vancouver, B. C., Mr. Findlay was a horse trainer in the western United States and Canada, specializing in horses' legs. A Whatcom County resident since 1990, he enjoyed playing golf and bingo. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy I. Findlay, of the family home; son William Charles "Chuck" Findlay of Yakima; sister Dorothy Hansen of Vancouver, B. FINDORFF, John, 73, a resident of the Ten Mile district, passed away Tuesday, December 14, (1948). He is survived by one brother in the East. FINE, Priscilla Charlotte "Chris" - A memorial service for Priscilla Charlotte "Chris" Fine of Bellingham will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 at Bellingham Masonic Hall performed by Sehome No. 17 Order of Eastern Star and the Rev. Ron Redell. Mrs. Fine died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997. She was 48. Born May 11, 1948, to Charles and Ruth Camp Henry in Tacoma, she served as secretary and past president of the T. H. Little chapter, Order of Demolay Parents Club. She was awarded the Grand Cross of Color for service to the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Bellingham Assembly No. 17. Survivors include her husband, Ron Fine, of Bellingham; daughters Beth Marsh and Susan Fine, both of Bellingham; son David Marsh of Everett; her father of Portland, Ore.; sister Anne Henry of Bellingham; and brothers Don Henry of Grants Pass, Ore., Pat Henry of Jacksonville, Ore., and Dana Henry of Broken Arrow, Okla. FINGALSON, Anna, age 77 years, resident of Ferndale Route 2, for over forty years, passed away at her home, Wednesday, March 31, (1948) following a lingering illness. FINKBONNER, Celena, a resident of Lummi her entire lifetime, passed away July 8, (1973) at the age of 83. She resided at 4107 Jones Lane. Mrs. Finkbonner was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church where requiem mass was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Prayer service was held Tuesday evening in Moles Funeral Home. FINKBONNER, Charles C. "Sam" age 76, of 1845 Marine Dr., Bellingham, passed away Thursday, June 16, 1994 at his home. Mr. Finkbonner was born Nov. 1, 1917 to Frank and Celena Lear Finkbonner. He was a lifetime Whatcom County resident and was a lifetime commercial fisherman and worked 17 years for the Lummi Tribal Maintenance Dept. Mr. Finkbonner was a graduate from Ferndale High School and was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church of Lummi. After retirement he enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, and above all taking care of his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Mae Lorenz Finkbonner in December of 1992. Survivors include 2 sons, Charles D. Finkbonner and wife Roberta of Bellingham, Ronald F. Finkbonner and wife Raynetta of Bellingham; 5 daughters, Celena and Ralph Williams of Portland, OR, Georgia and Gene Collier of Ft. FINKBONNER, David Arnold, returned home to the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2007. He was born on May 29, 1957, at St. Joseph Hospital, Bellingham. David grew up at Sandy Point and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1976. He joined the Job Corps after high school and worked at various jobs in the local community, including Arnold Finkbonner & Son's, Murdocks Restaurant, Cost Cutter's and most recently the Silver Reef Casino. He was actively involved in St. Joseph's Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and World Wide Marriage Encounter. He was an avid Mariner and Ram's fan. He also loved fishing commercially on his own boat. David married Ann Varang on Dec. 9,1988. They were happily married for 18 years. David enjoyed his family and friends immensely. He was the eldest son out of 14 children of Arnold and Catherine Finkbonner. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his parents, Arnold & Catherine; brothers, Mike, Steve (Natalie), Greg, Roy (Tami) and Donny (Elsa); sisters, JoAnn (Guy) Bellefeuille, Mary Cardoza, Marie Finkbonner, Jenny (Trevor) Ford, Carrie (Joe) Vargas, and Diane (Jeff) Burkhalter; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tom, and sister, Patty. The viewing will be on Thursday, August 9th, 2007, from 6-9 PM with prayer service at 7 PM at Moles Funeral Home in Ferndale. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10th, 2007, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ferndale officiated by Fr. Pat Davis, followed by burial at Lummi Cemetery. FINKBONNER, Eva See-Ya-Leetsa, age 68, of 4533 Sucia Dr., Ferndale, passed away in Bellingham Fri., June 20th (1986). She was born at the Lummi Reservation, WA Aug. 20, 1917. She was a lifetime resident of Lummi Reservation, a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church, the DAV Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 19, was one of the first Teachers Aides in the Lummi Head Start Program, worked in the Bremerton Shipyards during World War II. Surviving are her husband, John of Lummi; son Paul of Lummi; 3 sisters, Theresa Thomas, Helen Wilson & Georgianna Bergsma, all of Lummi; 4 brothers, Frank, Richard & James Hillaire of Lummi, Henry Hillaire of Bellingham; numerous nieces, nephews & other relatives. Mr. Finkbonner was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church and American Legion Post No. 33. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy, Africa and Germany. He was a commercial fisher most of his life. Mr. Finkbonner was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine Celestine Finkbonner, in December 1971. Survivors include son Michael James Lawrence of Everson, daughter Donna Mae Cultee of Bellingham, 10 grandchildren, sister Hazel Twiner of Edmonds and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. FINKBONNER, Harry James, age 53 years, of Custer, passed away Sunday, July 5, (1953) at a local hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Finkbonner had been a resident of the Ferndale community his entire lifetime and was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha; three daughters, Marsha Ann, Linda Lee, and Mary Ellen; one son, Harry Jr.; one brother, Richard, of Custer. FINKBONNER, Harry James, age 19 of 8005 Valley View Rd., Custer, passed away Thursday, November 11, (1971). Mr. Finkbonner had been a resident of the Custer area his entire lifetime, worked for Wilder Construction Co., was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church, the Laborers Local No. 276 and a graduate of Ferndale High School. He is survived by his mother, Martha; three sisters, Mrs. Marsha McPhail and Mrs. Linda McTigue, both of Blaine; Mrs. Mary Rasmussen of Birch Bay; 1 brother, Robert of Fisherman's Cove; his finance, Miss Camilia Jacobsen of Custer; numerous other relatives. FINKBONNER, Helen Francis (sic), age 94 of 4535 Sucia Dr., Ferndale, passed away Sunday, September 25, 1983. Helen had been a lifetime resident of the Lummi Reservation, was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church, was a member of the Lummi Elders and in her youth attended the Carlisle Indian School, Carlisle, PA. FINKBONNER, Henry Robert, age 75 years, prominent Lummi Indian, passed away at his home, Tuesday evening, October 23, (1945). FINKBONNER, Mildred M., 70, 1845 Marine Drive, Bellingham, passed away in Bellingham on Tues. Dec. 22, 1992. She was born to Adlolph (sic) and Georgia (Kinley) Lorenz on Feb. 28, 1922 in Bellingham and was a Whatcom County resident all her life. She worked as switchboard operator for the Lummi Nation for many years; she also did commercial fishing. She was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church and was a member of Lummi Nation enrollment committee. Her hobby was playing Bingo at which she excelled. She was also in charge of family projects and gatherings. She was married on Sept. 18, 1941 to Charles Finkbonner who survives her. Also surviving her are son Charles D. Finkbonner and wife Roberta, Ronald F. Finkbonner and wife Raynette of Bellingham; daughters Celena (Sis) and husband Ralph Williams, Portland, OR, Georgia (Dolly) and husband Gene Collier, Ft. Washington, Maryland; Betty and husband Tom George, Barbara Revey, Becky Finkbonner, all of Bellingham; 24 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; twin brother Melvin Lorenz, Tacoma; sisters Faunt Visser of Sedro Woolley and Carmen Harmon of Renton. FINKBONNER, Raynette Lynn, of Lummi, passed away Friday, December 26, 2003 at her home. She was 51, born May 24, 1952 in Bellingham to Ray and Ramona (Phair) Morris. Raynette graduated from Bellingham High in 1969. She earned her BA in Social Sciences from WWU in 1985, and attended Seattle University for 2 years. Raynette was Chief Administrative Officer for the Lummi Indian Business Council, Boys and Girls Club Planner, Kids First Coordinator, policy analyst, tribal administrator, Northwest Indian College Instructor, legislative lobbyist, Director of Social & Health Services for the Lummi Nation, public relations officer, tribal self governance coordinator, and she owned her own consulting business. Raynette championed and lobbied the tribal self-governance bill through Congress. She advocated for her people with love, honor, and respect. Raynette enjoyed traveling, shopping, bowling, swimming, playing pool, gambling, watching her family play sports, and especially loved laughing with her family, friends, and grandchildren. Raynette is preceded in death by her nephew, Ryan L. Finkbonner. Raynette is survived by her husband, Ronald Finkbonner, Sr., whom she married in 1975 in Reno, NV. She is also survived by her son, Ronald Finkbonner, Jr. daughter, Bridgett Finkbonner granddaughters, Veronica Rose Finkbonner and Dezirae Lynn Toby parents, Ray and Ramona Morris sisters, Raydean (husband Bernie) Finkbonner, Raynell (husband Dave) Zuni, and Rayanne Morris brothers, Ray (wife Tawaya Low) Morris, Jr. and Michael (wife Laurie) Morris and numerous nieces and nephews. A vigil service will be held Tuesday, December 30 at 7:00 pm with Vernon Lane officiating. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 10:00 am with Reverend Tim Sauer. Mrs. Finkbonner had been a resident of this county for the past 50 years and is survived by two sons, Harry and Richard, both of the county; also 7 grandchildren. FINKBONNER, Teresa, age 95, of 2429 Elizabeth Street passed away at a local hospital Sunday, February 25, (1951) following a lingering illness. Mrs. Finkbonner had been a life-long resident of Whatcom county and was a member of the St. Joachims Catholic Church at Lummi Island. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. Lena McKinzie of Bellingham, Mrs. Lucy Gates of Hoquiam, and Mrs. Clara Skolrood of Seattle; two sons, John B. of Seattle, and Fred of Ferndale; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rosary will be said Monday, February 26, at 7:30 p.m. within the Chapel of the Monroe Mortuary in Ferndale. Requiem mass will be said Tuesday, February 27, at 10 a.m. within the St. Joachims Church, with the Rev. Fr. James Buck, officiating. Interment in the Lummi Island Cemetery.

FINLAYSON, Claire, 77, formerly of Bellingham, died April 28, (1990) in Eugene, Ore. He was born on June 27, 1912 in Park River, N. D. Mr. Finlayson married Nance Hendry on Dec. 19, 1931, in Seattle. Survivors include his wife, of the family home; a daughter, Joan Bennett of John Day, Ore.; a son Donald H. Finlayson of Citrus Heights, Calif.; a brother, Bruce C. Finlayson of Garden Grove, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Fairhaven Lodge No. 73 F&AM in Bellingham; past grandmaster of Masons in Oregon; and a member and past master of the Wayfarer Lodge No. 213 AF&AM in Eugene, Ore. Mr. Finlayson also was a member of the Eugene Scottish Rite Bodies 33d Degree, Eugene York Rite Bodies, and Hillah Temple of the Shrine in Oregon. He was also a past patron of Emerald Court No. 28 Order of Amaranth and many other Masonic organizations. He was a retired major in the U. S. Army and served in WWII and Korea. Mr. Finlayson retired in 1973 as transportation manager with a furniture store in Eugene. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Eugene Scottish Rite Temple, with the Wayfayer Lodge conducting Masonic rites. A private concluding service will be at the Rest Haven Mausoleum in Eugene.

FINLAYSON, Donald, Rev., D. D., age 83, of 1010 High St., passed away in a local hospital Saturday, Jan. 1, (1955). Dr. Finlayson, a retired Presbyterian minister, had served the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Anacortes from 1936 to 1949 inclusive at which time he retired from the ministry and moved to Bellingham. He had served here as supply minister for the churches of the Presbytery. Dr. Finlayson was born April 8, 1871 on Prince Edward Island, Canada, and began his ministry over 60 years ago after his theological training at Auburn, N. Y. In 1921, while serving churches in North Dakota, he received his Doctor of Divinity degree from Jamestown College. His Pastorate included several churches in Washington and Idaho. Surviving relatives are his widow, Lulu H., at home; four sons, Capt. Clair L., U. S. Army Medical Supply stationed at Alameda, Calif., Donald K. of Bellingham, Allin C. of Monroe, Wash., and Bruce D. of Long Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jack A. McKenzie of Vancouver, B. C., and two brothers, Anugus and James Finlayson, both of Haverhill, Mass. Services will be conducted from the First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Harold E. Penhalurick, assisted by Rev. R. E. Baldwin, Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 3 p.m. Final resting place, Greenacres Memorial Park.

FINLAYSON, Lulu, age 80, 1010 High Street, passed away Monday, July 12, (1965). Mrs. Finlayson had resided in this city the past fifteen years, and was the widow of Rev. Donald Finlayson who preceded her in death in 1955. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four sons, Donald Kenneth, city; Major Clair L., Eugene, Oregon; Allin C., Wenatchee; Bruce D., Tulsa Okla.; eight grandchildren. FINLEY, Archie Leon, age 86, of Bellingham passed away Sat. April 16, 1994 at Highland Convalescent Center in Bellingham. He was born March 9, 1908 in Entiat, WA to Orville and Nancy (Poe) Finley and has been a Whatcom County resident since 1938. He married Dagmar Gudbranson in Bellingham on May 20, 1932 and she preceded him in death April 12, 1993. He was an IRS Agent and Regional Manager in Bellingham for 30 years and retired in 1971. Mr. Finley and his wife operated Finley's Store on the Birch Bay-Lynden Road for 20 years. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #194 in Bellingham and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and photography. He is survived by 2 sons, Loren Finley & wife Nancy and Scott Finley & wife Andrea all of Seattle; 3 daughters, Michaele Hansen & husband Ron, Marsha Beatty & husband David, Brooke Finley & husband Joe Rieg all of Bellingham; a sister, Fran Gray of Fallbrook, CA; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and one niece. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Hansen-Sundean. Visitation will be at Greenacres Funeral Home on Thurs., Apr. 21, noon to 8 p.m. with a funeral service Fri., Apr. 22, 2 p.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel and burial following at Greenacres Memorial Park. FINLEY, Carrie, age 96 of Lynden, passed away in a local rest home Sunday, Jan. 23, (1966). A resident of Lynden for the past 45 years, she was a life member of Lynden Chapter No. 12, OES. FINLEY, Dagmar Lillian, age 87, of Bellingham, passed away Mon., April 12, 1993 at Highland Convalescent Center in Bellingham. She was born Dec. 14, 1905 in Seattle, WA to Gudmunder and Elin Sigurdardottir Gudbranson. Mrs. Finley was a Whatcom County resident for the past 85 years and graduated from Custer High School. She married Archie Finley on May 20, 1932 in Bellingham. Mrs. Finley and her husband owned and operated Finley's Store on the Birch Bay-Lynden Rd. for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Archie Finley of Bellingham; 2 sons, Loren Finley & wife Nancy and Scott Finley & wife Andrea all of Seattle; 3 daughters, Michaele Hansen & husband Ron, Marsha Beatty & husband Dave, Brooke Finley & husband Joe Rieg, all of Bellingham; 2 brothers, Carl Gudbranson & wife Yvonne of Blaine and Harold Gudbranson & wife Pat of Bellingham; sister-in-law, Ruth Gudbranson of Bellingham; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. FINLEY, J. Ward, Dr., age 84, who resided in Ridgefield, Wash., passed away in that city Tuesday, Dec. 30, (1958). Dr. Finley was a former dentist in Bellingham and was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Bellingham Rotary Club, Woodmen of the World member, and the Mt. Baker Dental Society. He leaves to survive, two daughters, Mrs. William E. Healey of Salem, Ore., Mrs. Kent E. Anderson of LaCenter, Wash.; also three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The remains will lies in state in the Chapel of Bingham and Jerns Funeral Home until Friday, Jan. 2, at 3 o'clock when Rev. Arthur E. Bezanson will officiate at graveside services in Bay View Cemetery.

FINLEY, Lloyd Albert, age 59, of 919 Front Street, Lynden, passed away at his home Saturday, September 22, (1951) following a lingering illness. Mr. Finley had been a resident of the county since 1945 and had been employed by the Whatcom County Dairymen's Association until the past year. He was a member of F. & A.M. of Colfax, Wash., and a member of the Christian Church in Pullman. Surviving relatives include his wife, Pearl; four daughters, Miss Carol Finley and Mrs. Bernice Graves, both of Ferndale; Mrs. Flavia Sanders and Mrs. Jean Nelson, both of Portland, Ore.; three sons, Comdr. Otto Finley in Honolulu, Lloyd C., of Depot Bay, Ore., Howard C. of Roseburg, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Reynolds, of Jacksonville, Ore., Mrs. Myrtle Anderson, of Elk Fork, Ida., Mrs. Nancy Carden, of Pendleton, Ore.; one brother Walter, of Fairbank, Ariz., and 13 grandchildren. The remains will lie in state Sunday at Monroe Funeral Home in Ferndale and then be forwarded to Portland, Ore., for services and interment.

FINLEY, Mollie, age 71 years, of Ridgefield, Wash., passed away at the family home Thursday, Sept. 23, (1954). Mrs. Finley had been a resident of Ridgefield for the past five years and previously had lived in Bellingham for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ridgefield. Mrs. Finley is survived by her husband, Dr. J. Ward Finley, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Kent E. Anderson, of LaCenter, Wash., and Mrs. William E. Healy, of Salem, Ore., and three grandchildren. FINN, John, age 59 of 2983 Plymouth Dr., passed away Tuesday Oct. 16, (1979). Mr. Finn had resided in Bellingham for the past 16 years. He was retired from the State Highway Maintenance Dept., was a veteran of WWII, member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge No. 194. He leaves to survive his wife, Earline and 1 daughter, Jackie Finn, both of the family home; 3 sisters, Mary Miller of Spokane, Helen Snyder of Tacoma, Dona Rainville of Deer Lodge, Montana, 1 brother, Tommy Finn of Butte, Montana. FINNEGAN, Elma, age 63 years, passed away at the family home, 610 Oak Street, Friday, July 13, (1945), following a long illness. Mrs. Finnegan came to Bellingham in 1902. She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church. Her survivors include her husband, Fred J. Finnegan; one son, Frederick L., Waterloo, Iowa, and one daughter, Miss Frances Finnegan, Seattle, Wash. FINNEGAN, Frederick J., age 84 passed away in Kirkland, Washington, Tuesday, July 5, (1955). Mr. Finnegan had resided in Kirkland the past year and a half; prior to that he had been a pioneer of Bellingham, and was associated with the Prudential Insurance Company for many years. He leaves to survive, a daughter, Miss Frances Finnegan of Kirkland; and one son, Fredrick L. of Bronxville, N. Y. FINNEGAN, Grace Eleanor, 70, formerly of 101 Forest Rd., passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Day Cheatham of Oxford, N. C., where she had made her home for the past four years. Mrs. Finnegan came to Bellingham in 1900, and was a member of the St. James Presbyterian Church. Besides her daughter, she leaves to survive one son, John Day Finnegan, of Seattle; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ross J. Hohl of Bellingham, and Mrs. Helen Aune of Seattle. FINNEGAN, James A. Jr., age 55 of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 1987. He was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Salt Lake City, UT. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War & entered the construction trade in his early 20's. On May 31, 1965 he married May Arlene Olsen, in 1966 they moved to Denver, CO & to Seattle in 1968. They also lived in Stanwood, Bellingham & Ferndale before settling in Mt. Vernon in 1980. Jim constructed numerous homes & several apartment complexes in Bellingham & Mt. Vernon. His last project was the Quality Inn in Mt. Vernon. Jim is survived by his wife May; 3 sons, Patrick M. Finnegan, Daniel J. Finnegan, both of Mt. Vernon, James M. Finnegan of Salt Lake City, UT; a step-son Kenneth Olsen of Mt. Vernon; 2 daughters Margaret Fromm & Joy Finnegan, both of Salt Lake City; a step-daughter JoLynn Olsen of New Hampshire; there are 4 grandchildren; 5 brothers, Joe, Jim, Tim & George Finnegan all of Salt Lake City; John Finnegan of S. Carolina; 2 sisters, Patsy Dalton of Provo, UT; Marie Rich of Puyallup; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1987 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church in Sedro Woolley. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Lawn Memorial Park in Mt. Vernon.

FINNELL, Hallie, 80, Washington Square, died Saturday. A 48-year resident of the community. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jane Walker of Ferndale; a son, Lt. Col. Harry T. FINNEN, John M. - Services for John M. Finnen, 59, a Whatcom County resident for the last 12 years, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Finnen, 310 E. Champion St., died Friday, (Oct. 14, 1988) in a Bellingham hospital. He was born July 28, 1929, in Queens, N. Y., and had worked for a boat manufacturing company. He attended the Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and baseball. Mr. Finnen is survived by a daughter, Tonya Finnen of Bellingham; two stepdaughters, Carla Patterson and Jennifer Banks, both of Bellingham; four stepsons, Rick Kelmis and Dave Kelmis, both of Bellingham, Charles Kelmis of California, and Robert Banks of Auburn; two sisters, Dorothy O'Connel and Marie Finnen, both of New York; and nine grandchildren. FINNEY, Edna Marilyn, Lummi Island, wife of Walter R. Finney, mother of Richard M. Finney, both of Lummi Island and daughter of Mrs. Ethel Musser of Seattle; passed away in a Seattle hospital March 4th. FINNEY, Marie H., age 70 of 2812 Northwest Ave., passed away Mon. Jan. 21, 1980. Mrs. Finney was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the U.C.T., Bellingham Yacht Club, Lady Lions, Culinary Workers & Bartenders Union Local No. 451. Mrs. Finney had operated the Little Shop in the Leopold Hotel for 21 years. FINNEY, Richard Michael, 47, of 8181 Delta Line Road, Custer, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1991, in a Bellingham hospital. He was born April 27, 1944, in Seattle to Walter and Marilyn Finney. He graduated from Ferndale High School in 1961 and attended Western Washington University. He married K. Jeanne Pulver on Aug. 28, 1965, in Bellingham. She survives him at the family home. He was a commercial fisher and proprietor of the fishing boat "Christine M." Mr. Finney enjoyed hunting fishing, reading and golfing. Other survivors include his son, Robert W. Finney of Ferndale; his daughter, Christine M. Finney of Seattle; and many other relatives and friends. The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Lummi Island Congregational Church. The Rev. John Aldrich of Sunrise Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lummi Island Cemetery. Arrangements by Westford Funeral Home.

FINNIGAN, Evlyn Joyce, 80, peacefully passed away Christmas Eve, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 1, 1926 in Puyallup, Washington to Dorothy and Thomas Felts, and lived her entire life in Washington. She met Lawrence Finnigan in 1946 and they married the following year. They purchased their first home in Lynnwood in 1950, where they raised two daughters. They moved to Bellingham in 1999, making many new friends and enjoying the community, while maintaining lifelong friendships in the Seattle area. They would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Larry was a loving and devoted husband who selflessly took care of her during the last years of her illness. She worked for Fluke Manufacturing for twenty years and retired in 1984. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, bird watching, puzzles, and above all, her family. She was generous of spirit and had a wonderful sense of humor. She maintained her positive attitude throughout her illness, never complaining and always concerned about others. She is survived by husband Larry and daughter Lora Lynn McMurry of Bellingham; granddaughters Kristine (Mike) Anderson of Redmond, Jennifer (Rodney) Anderson of Edmonds, Alyson McMurry of Bellingham, Michelle (Jeremiah) Woolverton of Missouri. She shared a special closeness with niece Kathy (Howard) Huisel of Portland. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren, sister Dorothy Clark of Yelm; brothers Thomas of Clarkston and Richard of Mt. Lake Terrace and many nieces, nephews and friends. Proceeded in death by her parents, her daughter Beth Anne, a sister and a brother. A Memorial Service is planned in early January.

Besides her parents she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln V. Finnson and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Adams, all of Bellingham. FINNSON, John G., age 74, a long time resident of the Blaine area, passed away Monday, March 7, (1977). Surviving are his wife, Laura of Blaine, a son, Earl D. FINNSON, Maria S., age 86, a long-time Blaine resident, passed away July 28, (1956) in a local hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Chris Freeman and Mrs. Adolph Anderson, both of Rt. 1, Blaine. Two sons, John Finnson, of Bellingham, and Steinie Finnson, of Blaine; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. FINNSON, Sharon Lee, age 40 of Sudden Valley, passed away Sat., Oct. 18, 1980 in Hoquiam, Washington. Sharon had been a life time resident of Whatcom County, and was Vice President of the Alvord-Richardson Construction Company. FINNSON, Steinie Magnus, born in Blaine Feb. 4, 1910, passed away Wed., Jan. 20, (1988); a lifelong member of the community. For 35 years, he operated service stations in Blaine, he served on the Blaine School Board for several terms. Was a member of the Bellingham Yacht Club & was the last remaining charter member of the Free Church Unitarian in Blaine. He leaves to survive him, his wife of 50 years, Clella "Billee" Finnson; 2 sons, Gregory of Bellingham & Lawrence of Ferndale; 3 daughters, Linda Fast of Redmond, Vikki Soffoniason of Ferndale & Melodie Leigh of Bothell; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. FINSBERG, Fanny Frederikke, age 74, of 1408 Broad Street, passed away in a local hospital Monday, September 21, (1953). Mrs. Finsberg had resided in this community for the past 19 years, and was a member of the Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives include her husband, Oscar Finsberg, at the family home; a son Ivan, of Bellingham; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Horne, of Bellingham, and Mrs. Eva Dyer, of Seattle; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The remains rest at the funeral home of Harlow-Hollingsworth where services will be conducted by the Rev. Clarence Haugen, Thursday, September 24, at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Bay View.

FINSBERG, Ivan Fredrick, age 89, of 1400 Broad Street, Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 1991. Born September 5, 1902 in Horten, Norway to Oscar and Fanny Finsberg, he came to the United States July, 1921, residing in Kent, WA where his parents, uncle and two sisters lived. Ivan acquired American Citizenship; joined the National Guard; married Helen Bishop November 18, 1934. They lived in the same Bellingham home since 1942. Ivan was involved with cannery business for 35 years; his last years were in Petersburg, Alaska where he was Superintendent of Pacific American Fisheries Cannery for ten years. He was an avid sportsman; won many prizes in ski jumping; enjoyed swimming, diving, hunting, fishing and many other activities. Member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44 F&AM and Scottish Rite Bodies. Survived by his wife Helen, at the family home; nieces and nephews, Ralph Ivan Horne; Pamela Watts; Steve Watts and Andee Watts; Eric and wife Lori Horne; Richard and wife Shirley Larson; Greg and wife Rhonda Larson; Chris and wife Patty Larson; Shannon, Ivan and Brian Larson; Diane and husband Steve Burman; Lauren and Kelly Burman; second cousins in Norway, France & Calif. and Nadine Ellison of Sedro Woolley. FINSRUD, David Jack, 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Finsrud, of Rt. 2, Everson, passed away at a local hospital Saturday, May 24, (1953) following a short illness. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Elaine Marie and Jacqueline Sue, both at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom P. Finsrud, of Rt. 2, Everson; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Summers, of Lynden; and many other relatives. FINSRUD, Iva B., age 85, of 700 32nd St., passed away Friday July 10 (1982) in a local nursing home. She was a member of Eastern Star. FINSRUD, Thorwald P., age 78, of Route 2, Everson, passed away in a local hospital Thursday, Dec. 20, (1962) following an extended illness. Mr. Finsrud had resided in the Everson area for the past 45 years, was a retired farmer and a member of the Nooksack Masonic Lodge No. 192. He leaves to survive his wife, Iva B. at home; three sons, Thorwald and Orville, both at home, and Jack of Bremerton; two daughters, Mrs. Bertie Smircich of Los Angeles and Mrs. Jean Peterson of San Jose, Calif.; 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 24, at 10:30 a. m. in the Chapel of the Westford Funeral Home with Pastor E. M. Bremer officiating, followed by the ritualistic graveside services of the Nooksack Masonic Lodge at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

FINZEL, Daniel Lowell, 52, a former Bellingham resident, died Monday (Feb. 11, 1991) in Tampa Bay, Fla. Mr. Finzel was born on Oct. 13, 1938, at the former St. Luke's Hospital in Bellingham. He was a Bellingham resident for more than 30 years. He moved to Florida 15 years ago. Mr. Finzel co-owned a balloon shop, the Happy Balloon Co., in Clearwater, Fla. He drove a bakery truck in Bellingham and worked at the Bon Marche in Seattle for several years in the early 1970s. He also had been in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Finzel enjoyed sailing and water activities. Survivors include his parents, Charles and Marian Finzel of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother Jim Finzel of Bellingham; two daughters, Deanna Mooney and Alleen Sims of Ferndale; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. No services will be held. Arrangements are by National Cremation Society in Florida.

FINZEL, Joyce E., 53, of 137 33rd St. died, Sunday (April 13, 1986) in Reno, Nev. Mrs. Finzel was born June 28, 1932, in Bellingham. She and her husband, Jim, had been married for 38 years. Survivors include her husband, of the family home; four daughters, Pam Finzel Kaufman, Patricia Finzel and Peggy Finzel of Bellingham and Penny Smith of Mayport, Fla.; and three sisters, Marge Vineyard and Madaline Dusenbery of Ferndale and Pearl Haehn of Monroe. Private funeral services took place in Reno. Arrangements were under the direction of the Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary of Reno.

FINNEY, Walter Robert, age 79, of 2812 N. W. Ave., passed away Sunday (Jan. 20, 1991) at his home. Born March 24, 1911 in Spokane, WA, Mr. Finney has been a long time resident of Lummi Island and Bellingham. Member of the Church of the Assumption, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #194, Lummi Island Grange; Bellingham Yacht Club; United Commercial Travelers and a past mem. of the Lions Club. Preceded in death by 2 wives Marilyn in 1963; and Marie in 1980. Survived by son Richard & wife Jeanne Finney of Custer, WA; step-daughter Cheryl and husb. Roger Axelson of Bellingham. 7 grandchildren - Christine & Robert Finney, Lisa & Nicholle Axelson; Scott, Brian Peterson & Susan Langei. 4 brothers - George, Bill & Frank Finney all of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and Lawrence Finney of Seattle. 2 sisters - Harriette Greene of Spokane & Ida Kennedy of Edmonds. Numerous nieces and nephews & friend Irene Colley of Bellingham. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed. at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Steve Sallis officiating. FIORE, Joseph James of 465 Tyee Drive, Point Roberts, died of cancer Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994, at his home. He was 58. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in Ladner, B. C. Mr. Fiore was born Sept. 12, 1935, to Salvatore and Loretta Mingorelli Fiore in Chicago. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954 to 1956, and married Lillian Clemente on Sept. 10, 1955, in Chicago. He and his family moved to Whatcom County in 1970. Mr. Fiore was half-owner of the Reef Tavern in Point Roberts from 1974 to 1982. He also owned and operated Ben's Store from 1973 to 1979, and TJ's Restaurant and Lounge from 1986 to 1990. TJ's is now run by two of his sons, Mark and Tony. Survivors include his wife of the family home; daughter Marie Hedeman of Las Vegas; sons Joseph Fiore Jr. of Bothell and Mark and Tony Fiore, both of Point Roberts; brother James Fiore of Overton, Texas; sisters Frances Poston of Dallas, Phyllis Bormet of Old Fort, N. C., and Carmella Canino of Tinley Park, Ill.; two grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Jerns-McKinney Funeral Chapel of Blaine.

FIORE, Lillian Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep from a heart attack on November 24, (2014). Born in Chicago, IL to Anthony & Lillian Clemente, she married Joseph J. Fiore (deceased) on September 10, 1955. They were proud parents of 4 children, Marie Fiore-Hedeman, Joseph J. Fiore Jr., Mark A. Fiore, Anthony (Tony) J. Fiore. They moved to Point Roberts, WA in 1970 where they were active residents & business owners of Ben’s Department Store, Reef Tavern, and T.J.’s Restaurant. In later years, Lillian was the manager of the Point Roberts Fire Department Bingo. She moved to Blaine, WA in 2008, and later to Pahrump, NV to live with her daughter.
Lillian loved cooking, baking, accounting, spending time with her children, grandchildren, playing bingo, and was an active member of the Catholic church, Sacred Heart in Ladner, B. C., St. Anne’s in Blaine, WA, and Our Lady Of The Valley in Pahrump, NV. She is survived by her children, Marie Hedeman of Pahrump, NV, Joe Fiore of Bothell, WA, Mark Fiore of Point Roberts, WA, Tony Fiore of Blaine, WA, daughter-in-laws Joyce Pelton, Vicki Fiore, Cheryl Fiore, and Debbie Coleman. Grandchildren Nicholas Fiore, Michael & wife Megan Fiore, and Amber Fiore. Great grandchildren Ava Fiore, Aubree Fiore and Olivia Antczuk. A celebration of life for Lillian is scheduled for January 10, 2015 at St. Anne’s, 604 H Street in Blaine, WA. Pastor F.R. Khanh D Nguyen will perform the service at 11 a.m., and is open to the public.
